In January, I informed Guitar Center over Twitter that they had ads running on the racist, sexist, xenophobic website Breitbart. Breitbart is the website that Trump advisor Steve Bannon ran before moving over to Trump’s campaign. Bannon said that the website was a platform for the alt-right movement, a sanitized word for white nationalism and hate groups. Here’s just a few of the horrible headlines that have run on the website: - Hoist it high and proud: The Confederate flag proclaims a glorious heritage - Birth control makes women unattractive and crazy - Gay rights have made us dumber, it's time to get back in the closet Breitbart has helped spread the hate and bigotry that propelled Donald Trump to the White House and plans to start doing the same in Europe. We need to stop it and one of the ways that people across the world are taking action to slow down the growth of this hate is by asking companies to remove their ads from Breitbart.com, so they aren’t funding the site through ad revenue. More than 900 companies, including BMW, Kelloggs and AllState, have already pulled their ads, so I assumed that Guitar Center would act quickly to do the same. But, Guitar Center has so far ignored tweets letting them know about their ads and has not confirmed whether it’s removed its ads from Breitbart. Sign the petition to Guitar Center CEO Ron Japinga, CFO Tim Martin and EVP of Sales Michael Amkreutz to demand they stop funding hate and remove Guitar Center ads from the Breitbart website.

I know a boycott of this measure will affect our Hollywood allies but I would ask those actors to join in this boycott - the administration of our 45th president CANNOT be allowed to command our financial institutions - especially when the candidate has PERSONALLY profited from our suffering in 2008. I am just one of thousands of people affected by the housing bubble of 2008 and I CANNOT support a candidate with such profound financial and philosophical cognitive dissonance.

Los Angeles, it's time to divest from Wells Fargo. Seattle just removed $3 billion from Wells Fargo in response to their financing of the Dakota Access Pipeline and opening fake bank accounts. It's time to put our city's money into a trustworthy and ethical bank.

False news and more recently "alternative facts" are poisoning the body politic in the US. A credible, independent rating of major news outlets (print, radio and TV/cable/internet broadcast) according to standards of journalistic excellence may drive such businesses to improve performance in pursuit of better ratings.

Costco has a deserved reputation for treating its employees well, and for being a socially responsible organization. I hope that Costco can persuade Citigroup to divest from the North Dakota Pipe Line which is a symbol of Native oppression, environmental recklessness and if completed will fuel Climate catastrophe. If not offer an alternative to the Citigroup credit card.

Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) recently investigated a Certified Humane, cage-free egg farm in California that supplies eggs to Safeway. The investigators found a gruesome pile of dozens of dead hens left to rot on the barn floor. Facility records indicate that hundreds of birds were dying each day, including many from “piling,” a phenomenon where birds crush each other to death due to intense confinement and stress. Other birds had been so badly pecked at that they had lost all their feathers. During the investigation, DxE rescued a hen and named her Scarlett. Scarlett was defeathered and had eye trauma from being confined in the farm, but with veterinary care and a peaceful home at a sanctuary, she recovered. Watch her story at www.crushedatsafeway.com. Safeway markets their eggs as humane despite allowing birds to languish and die in cruel and unnatural conditions. Sign the petition, and ask Safeway to stop exploiting hens.

Chemical-intensive industrial agriculture is killing off pollinators, polluting our drinking water and causing soil to disappear so fast it could be gone in decades. For too long Spotify has limited us premium paying customers to listening to only 3,333 songs offline. If we are paying them for the premium subscription to listen to songs offline they should not be limiting us to how many songs we can listen to offline. Us premium subscribers have complained far too long to deaf ears at Spotify and its time to stand and take action against Spotify and tell them we want our voices heard and we deserve better.

Trump is in violation of twitter's policy, and we request that twitter no longer allows Trump to use his account as a bully pulpit in order to cyber bully.
