• STOP SAFEWAY'S ATTACK ON EMPLOYEES
Safeway just went to the bargaining table with some of it's unions in Northern California. The contract presented takes away full time "status", (even if they work a full eight hours, they won't receive full time employee benefits) overtime, holiday pay, and any medical care costs would be paid as a whole by the employees themselves with no aid from Safeway at all. Most of their employees, like many of us, have families to support and cannot lose pay during a strike lest their families go hungry. As a customer, and a non-Safeway employee I am outraged and calling on my fellow labor supporters to help these people before SAFEWAY becomes SLAVEWAY!

  • The SUPER ENERGY EFFICIENT Housing Solution
The President and Congress are uninformed of the fact that Super Energy Efficient housing (SEE for short) can help to solve many of the major problems facing our nation and the world today. Building all of our new homes and converting our existing homes to be SEE can help to: 1) Quickly create construction, distribution, and manufacturing jobs, 2) Help to stimulate today’s economy and assure a vibrant long-term economy, 3) Help citizens to save money immediately and more money in the future, 4) Help to cutback on pollution and save our environment, 5) Help to cut dependence on foreign energy sources, 6) AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY, not be another never-ending and expensive Federal Government program. We are calling on the President and Congress to look at this solution as a way to help to address the major problems that are facing the United States today. FMI on Super Energy Efficient housing, please refer to the book, “SEE” The EMPOWERING Energy Solution.

  • Displaced worker tax
Republicans these days have become obsessed with the term “job creators”. They claim that handing money and power over to big wall street banks and the top earning %1 will stimulate job growth and thus the economy. But as we’ve seen in recent years, these measures actually have the opposite effect. Extra cash for corporations only equates to more cost saving measures such as the purchase of expensive equipment and systems that displace workers and yield no benefit to the economy or the greater community. Outsourcing is also a cost cutting measure that displaces American workers. To solve these issues I propose implementing a displaced worker tax that would tax corporations on every dollar made by the displacement of American workers so that it becomes too costly to outsource or otherwise displace American employees.

  • Save the Adoption Tax Credit
The Adoption Tax Credit has helped families offset high costs for years. Signing this petition will ensure that the refundable tax credit is renewed. It is set to sunset at the end of 2012 and move to a non-refundable credit. In 2013 it will be cut in half and only available for special needs adoptions. We need your help to make it permanent and refundable for all Americans adopting. We are in the process of adopting a child. The cost of adoption can range from a few thousand dollars to over $50,000! Having the Adoption Tax Credit available for families, helps in more ways that just financially to the family adopting. By helping people who might not otherwise be able to afford the costs of adoption; foster care children will be reduced, the need for orphanages in the future will be eliminated/reduced, abortions will go down and mother's keeping kids they cannot afford and thereby increasing welfare to them will also go down. This is a win/win for humanity, tax payers and for the government. Thank you adoptiontaxcredit.org for providing info to better address the needs of the credit to be extended.

  • REPLACE GEITHNER WITH KRUGMAN
Pulitzer-prize winning economist Paul Krugman shows us how to move our nation forward in his book "End This Depression Now." It's time we empowered him to do so! Read my article http://occupythesec.nycga.net/ and you will see why this makes BOTH economic and political sense.

  • Tell Congress to pass President Obama's "American Jobs Act"
The Republicans keep talking about Obama not increasing jobs in the U.S. but the President's Jobs Act stalled in Congress. Our economy would have already turned around if this act had been passed. Let's do it now!

  • Return America To Industrial Superiority
We need to streamline our federal regulations that pertain to manufacturing and entice industrialists from Formosa, Japan, Germany, Finland, and South Korea along with specialists from these countries to restart our manufacturing of electronics, household appliances, power and hand tools, machine and plumbing parts as well as steel, plastics (and other materials, cement) so we can back our currency AND defend the US!

  • Employment Rate vs Un-Employment Rate
Over the years, I have grown sick and tired of the negativity of reporting overall with the clear intent to sell advertising to sponsors to get viewers to "tune in". Recently, Obama is getting beat up by the news networks about having an 8.2% unemployment rate. While JOBS and the ECONOMY are all important issues, I would like to start a petition to re-state the "Unemployment Rate" as the "Employment Rate" of 91.8%!

  • Congress--Pass Obama's Jobs Bill!
What this country really needs is for Congress to pass the Jobs Bill to get projects started that will employ people, hire teachers, police and firefighters, and improve the nation's infrastructure. This bill will not add to the debt as it will pay for itself. Just think of the increase in taxes being paid by all those employed workers, not to mention the increase in local sales taxes generated by people spending their paychecks.
