• Congress should work, at least, a 2080 hour workyear in their chamber.
Most American workers are required to work at least 2080 hours a year - an average of 40 hours a week. Our Congress seems to "work" when they want to; or rather, they seem to not work a lot of the time. They've been telling us that they want to help job creators. Go to work and do that. Vote on legislation that's presented and let the majority rule. Stop the foolishness that's going on.

  • Workman's compensation protection for self-employed workers
There currently is no insurance protection available for self-employed workers in the U.S., this creates immense hardship for workers when they are sick or injured while at work. We should have an available program to join similar to the Workman's Compensation program available to "employees".

  • fiscal sanity
changing the laws which allow State and Federal senators retirement packages. This huge drain on our resources might be corrected and free up an enormous amount of money. Why care? We the ordinary people simply can't afford the expense. We need to firmly yet kindly let our representatives know that we can't afford to carry the dead wood any longer.

  • A Promise Made is a Promise kept
The Illinois legislature wants to decrease pension benefits for those who are receiving a pension. This decrease in income will be a hardship for those who will have to choose between eating and buying medicine. Teachers have fulfilled their part by working and contributing for as much as 30 years. Now the legislature wants to void the Constitutional right which, according to the constitution will not be changed.

  • Sales Tax on Political Advertising
Big money has taken over politics to an even greater degree and the people have very little chance of changing that. We can, however, gain some needed resources to support education, economic development, and human services.

  • 99% need a Public Bank,for economic justice.
We invest our money in a public bank we control,we save a ton of money from "special interests". We also have economic freedom from "debt slavery"(30yr mortgauges,etc..) Thomas Paine(1776) "Why let others do what we can do ourselfs"? It`s common sense,we need the modern economic kings as much as we needed England back 1776. A public bank is a economic declaration of independence !

  • Reduce student loan interest rates to 0%!
Student loan debt is crushing students like never before and as a result, graduates are unable to afford a decent lifestyle of even just the basics. Given the fact that education is fundamental belief and value in this country as well as the bedrock to the success of the economy, if students are required shoulder the burden of debt, it should at least be an interest free loan.
