i am a parent at dr. tanner g duckrey school and community activist and organizer in north philadelphia. This petition is for the reevaluation vs. school closures. There are gonna be 66 schools in total planning to close by june 2013 and only 37 are being publicly closed and most of them are in north philadelphia. We have been rallying meetings in regards of school closures and demanding a moriitorium which is an extension for further evaluation vs. closures. So far we have the votes from city council of philadelphia for the moritorium so the we are now waiting for School Reform Commisision Board to agree with the moritorium.

To have the charges dropped of his threats to the school due to bullying by teachers and students and that he gets treatment thru mental help and not to have it put on his record and that he is removed from the school and put into home or online schooling to have him finsh is education without stress and without having fear of being hurt

It was brought to my attention by a number of math professionals that community colleges want to wipe out basic math classes for college level students in algebra and technical math. The premise being that they should be coming to college better prepared for more advanced math classes. What if they are not prepared or don't get it the first time? They are being unfairly penalized. As an older adult returning to college after being displaced from my job of 18 years I am so behind when ot comes to math. I understand why they must keep these basic math skills taught at the community college level. Please keep them in place.

The budget for the State Department of Education has been cut at a time when we need it the most. Dont's let The Governor's cuts stand.

My daughter's pre school teacher has been terminated due to false allegations and JCCDC director feels no investigation should take place. She is a loving educational provider whom both my children love dearly, and under her care as if they are her own. A fair trial should be held.

Why should you sign this petition? To show your support for the legislative agenda of the SUNY Student Assembly which supports the funding and assistance SUNY needs for 2013. Right now the Governor has given a State of the State Address that did not make SUNY a priority. SUNY shares 2.2% with CUNY for the proposed budget for 2013. Isn't affording school hard enough?
