Restructure FEMA with our best peopleCould we as a nation respond to national emergencies better and more effectively while simultaneously cutting our military budget and providing great opportunities for our military personnel who would otherwise be forced to look for jobs in the private sector? I am looking to see a restructuring of FEMA so that the response to national emergencies is stronger and more diversified by enlisting outgoing military personal and their training to better respond to our nations needs. This could provide job opportunities to our veterans, and assist in rebuilding our nation when disasters strike.12 of 100 SignaturesCreated by zach bowman

Republican Congress: stop being obstructionists, the party of NO!We, the citizens of the United States should be tired of the party of no-- the Republican Congress-- who have been obstructionists at the detriment of American citizens. The republicans stopped the million jobs bill last year while they continue to blame Obama for unemployment and the economy. In September, the republicans denied passage of the Veterans Job Corps bill as well. They attack the Affordable Health care Act. Clearly, these republicans don't want Americans to work or to have access to affordable health care. They want Americans to suffer.15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dawn West

Dismantle the Electoral CollegeAs a concerned citizen and registered voter, I want my vote, and the votes of each citizen, to count. We need to eliminate the aristocratic tradition of the electoral college, and put political power into the hands of the people whom this country serves. I want to be able to teach my children that their vote truly does matter. The only way to make this a factual statement is to rid ourselves of the electoral college.11,122 of 15,000 SignaturesCreated by Laurie Summer

Cooperate or elseTea Partiers in Congress have spent the past 4 years obstructing a jobs bill, fair taxation for all, and reasonable immigration laws. The country has spoken. SIgn up and pledge to bombard the obstructionists with the message that if they don't cooperate and compromise, we will dedicate ourselves to voting them out in 2 years.155 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Fran Johns

Standardize Electronic Voting Nation-WideFederal guidlines need to be strengthened to standardize State Voting Guidelines to include Electronic Vote Machines and Early Voting. The most important responsibility of citizenship is to vote -- too many states suppress voter participation by antiquated technology and suppressive rules. Florida is a National Discrace!! Every general election there is an issue of suppression and access....5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Concerned Citizen

Standard elections nationwideThere too many confusing and contradicting rules for voting throughout the U.S.A. Lets make all states the same rules for national elections and make all states have early voting at least a week before election day.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mike Hendrickson

Voter SuppressionI can not believe in 2012 we still have voter suppression. This has to stop. How many stories do we have to see in order to recognize the problem. I am tired of people who do not think this is happening. I talk to my friends and they say, well there is voter fraud, really, did you know the governing bodies say they is a very small % in comparison to voter suppression. It has to stop, we have to communicate it to everyone, put a end to it.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Cary Woody

November Election: National HolidayVoter disenfranchisement happens nationally through long lines, polling stations that are too small, have little parking and/or are difficult to locate, unqualified or slow poll workers, poor line management and in many other ways. A National Holiday every November election day would 1. Close schools : this would open up schools to be polling places. 2. Provide poll workers on that day. 3.Proclaim that voting is essential to our democracy by being a national holiday. 4. Allow voters to come throughout the day, not just as polls open and after their work hours. This would greatly lessen lines.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dorothy Sirolly

No electioneering near polling places... including near any lines leading into the voting location. The 2012 election had many incidences of verbal altercations between law abiding citizens, who were waiting to express their voting choices in our civilized society, as they waited at the polling/voting location and people who showed up just to harass them for exercising their constitutional right to vote. Current laws state that: "No person shall conduct ANY campaigning or electioneering for any candidate or ballot issues within 100 feet of the front door to any polling/voting location. Since the long lines going into many voting locations went far beyond the 100 feet limit, that is where the verbal harassing and altercations took place.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Henry Sherman

A constitutional amendment regarding elections and the electoral franchiseRecent elections have revealed imperfections in the electoral process that include eternal campaigning, an effective monopoly on public political speech by the two major parties, the warping of elections by the extremely wealthy, the protection of falsehoods in political discourse, and a lack of uniformity in the electoral process from state to state. Most importantly, however, the Constitution does not explicitly state that the people of the US have a right to democratically-elected representative government. This proposed Constitution amendment would eliminate these defects.81 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Paul Jordan
