It's simply that as Legislators, elected & sworn to serve the citizens of the U.S.A., they should have no exclusive right(s) to taxpayer paid Health & Life Insurance; as well as Pension provisions. They are NOT privileged citizens, in these matters any more than any citizen. They should pay & contribute to their own financial future just like every citizen.

The amount of money being spent on State and Federal Campaigns is obscene after the passage of the Supreme Court Ruling which allowed Corporations to be "people". These Super PACS are spending monies that could be better spent on education, infrastructure, police/firemen salaries and yet these corporations are the first to say NO when asked to increase state and local budgets.

term limits for congress and house as it was originaly supposed to be. go to washinton for a couple of years do what the people want then go homer and farm again time for the next guy.. too many get in office get rich and really dont do much , we need fresh blood

Our congress has done nothing to help our nations decline. It is self serving and out of control . We need a leadership that has compassion for the struggles of our working class , an edcution that is superior instead of failing , and a system that meets our senior citizens needs . there is a saying theres to many chiefs and not enough indians . so eliminate the congress we now have and put the govennors of each state to work , maybe then they won't have time to play around on tax payers money .

A letter writing campaign by ordinary citizens, asking legislators to sign a Pledge of Reform, prior to the 2012 elections, could remove the dysfunction and negative influence of money from our government. Public participation with the COMMITTEE TO REFORM CONGRESS at www.ctrc.us/ could force Congress to reform.

It's all about dividing the "United States" into fifty Cantons, patterned after the Swiss model. The residents of each Canton would vote for three main purposes that the Canton population stands (and works!) for, like carpentering, or enghineering, or 'you-name-it'. Banks would be limited to dealing within each Canton (i.e., no Inter-Cantonese deals.) Each Canton would have it's own militia, and would provide volunteers to serve the National defense. And, of course, whatever else the Canton freely votes for.

I feel we the people need to be able to know what our government is doing in most cases.i feel congress should have more time to review bills before being passed or denied in the house and senate. the public should be able to see all bills and executive orders word for word detail and have easy access to it online and in person as soon as the bill has been written for free.the federal reserve should be audited so we know where our tax dollars are going to and every detail towards our budget,funds and related areas.we should have stats for politicians just like we have for anything else.meaning we should be able to see each representatives bills they have made,supports or doesnt support and what they have done since they have been in office,strictly stats and facts without political bias.

Congress is ineffective. There's too much money in politics. The power of the incumbency is too great. We need to limit the time in office of politicians to 3 terms as a rep and 2 terms as a senator. Under the current system we are all losing due to greed and self serving interests.

In this age of the internet, online conferencing and telecommuting, why does Congress still need to meet in Washington, D.C.? The members should have an office in their home district or state where they spend their time and are more accessible to their constituents. They would be more in tune with the needs of the people they were elected to represent and save money in travel and housing expenses. Lobbyists would have to travel to the districts instead of having Congress as a captive audience in Washington, D.C.

Whatever it takes - any branch of the federal government that can be influenced to overturn the Citizens United Ruling. This decision by the Supreme Court has had a tremendously negative impact on our political process and democratic principles and continues to challenge the very essence of which the United States of America was founded upon. We must petition our representatives and appointed officials to reverse course before it is too late.
