Since the beginning 2012 no member of Congress,the Courts or the President of the United States have or will have served in the Military in any active war zones. Understanding risks to life and limb, and the risks to self and family is or should be a considered requirement for any Military intervention. There should therefore be a amendment to the Constitution requiring a military service of 4 years.If a person does not do such a service he would be found unqualified as a candidate for National Office After all if one cannot put oneself at harms way than they do not need a job in congress which may last for decades. Many candidates for government office have both sons and daughter who have not performed national service but have /or will benefit from their parents ascending to government office Therefore the need for this added requirement to each member of Congress in order for them to hold office, if you cannot risk your life for the country then you do not deserve to hold office

It baffles my mind that a member of congress just has to serve one term in congress to enjoy full retirement benefits but a servicemember is only eligible for 50% after 20 years on duty! I want servicemembers to be entitled to full retirement benefits after atleast 20 years of service.

We already have a world government. It's called the UN, the IMF, the G8, the G20, the World Bank, the International Criminal Court, the WTO, etc. The problem is, is that none of this is democratic. We can fix this problem by adding a Parliament or House of Representatives to the United Nations. If we truly want to end war, injustice and environmental crises like global warming then we need to add democracy to the present world order. This movement is already under way and goes by the name of a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly. Signing this petition would be in support of creating a second chamber of the UN - a "People's House", known as the "United Nations Parliamentary Assembly". Representation would be based on population like the US House of Representatives, and people all over the world would vote on their representatives. Balancing the budget on the back of the poor is unfair and bad public policy. If people are allowed to satisfy their fines through community service, their licenses will not be suspended and/or would not be thrown in jail. It's important that people that do not have the means to satisfy their fines be given the opportunity to satisfy that debt through other means such as community service which many of these counties need during this austere economic times.

The American Dream being crushed by Our Own Party. We will all suffer for this.

Abolish the filibuster. A Supreme Court decisions forbid former legislators from tying the hands of their successors. Under the Supreme Court's precedents, just 51 senators will have a brief opportunity to reform or eliminate the filibuster next January. Abolish the filibuster and end gridlock.

Big money and "sweet deals" in D.C. have far too much influence on bad decisions by the U.S. Government.

If we are to move this economy and country forward politicians must start working together to improve conditions. Stop standing at extreme ends of the spectrum and hurling barbs at one another and compromise for the good of the country.

Since Congress is controlled by special interests and lobbyists, we need to stop them from being financed by our tax dollars.

Congress members are Under The Influence... of lobbyists. Creating term limits in Congress will force our elected officials to focus on the people, not how much money special interests can put into their next campaign.

This was and remains an unfair "credit" payback for thousands who also lost their jobs (as I did), homes, insurances and means of paying back this "credit", I now pay back $600/year for something that the same "credit" offered in 2009/2010 consumers did not have to re-pay, we were guinnea pigs for the real estate market, the government knew we were headed into a recession, had I known I never would have taken it. Please help and sign this petition, yes we agreed to pay this back however through no fault of our own we lost just as much as everyone else did in the following years.
