• Campaign Finance Reform
It is about giving elections back to citizens. All corporate money should be out of politics. Campaigns should be financed through equal, small amounts added to every personal income tax and money should be distributed to candidates based on the number of citizens in their district.

  • Time Limit for Presidential Campaign
The campaign time frame for President is too long. I would like to propose no longer than three months to campaign and limit the amount of money being spent on the campaign. This would pertain to both parties. With what has been spent so far on this campaign, we could have fed the whole world.

  • Do the job we hired you to do.
To ask Congress particularly the Republicans to stop obstructing everything. To compromise. To work for the benefit of The American People. To not pass a budget that ends Social Security and Medicare. To not end food stamps that leave hungry kids to starve.

  • Break the Senate Deadlock with a New Filibuster Rule
Between 2009 and 2011, Senate Republicans killed hundreds of bills passed by the Pelosi House through abuse of the Filibuster Rule. Recently the bill to keep tuition interest from doubling was killed despite the presence of a majority of Senators in favor. Harry Reid recently admitted that he made a terrible mistake by not changing the rule to avoid abuse when he last had a chance in Jan 2011. This petition proposes a new filibuster rule that would eliminate such abuse by either party in the future.

  • FAIR FEDERAL PAY ACT
While our governent bleeds money, elected politicians continously vote themselves pay raises, while cutting back room deals to fire or reduce pay for workers who actually provide services. They have no sense of urgency to correct the issues as people loose thier jobs, homes, and savings. It is the responsibility for both partities to work together and solve issues. Those who cannot, are not doing thier jobs and should have thier pay ADJUSTED ACCORDINGLY. Both sides of the aisle continue to live from fat salaries and benefits, while the working class dies on the vine with no help.

  • Make Every Vote Count!
We hear so much about the importance of voting, but every day I hear that the Presidential Election is actually determined by voters in a hadfull of "swing" Districts. As a person who cares deeply, but usually lives in an area where my views are in the minority, I want my vote to count!

  • Maintain Separation of Church and State- Get Religious Texts out of Legal Matters
While being sworn in as a Notary in Pennsylvania, I was asked to swear on the Christian bible. Months later, while on a jury, I was asked to do the same thing. The final straw was while I was obtaining a marriage license and was asked again to swear on the Christian bible. Separation of church and state is apparently not honored as these were all legal matters and the state continues to show favoritism towards one religion (or a religion at all). We must ask to have religious texts banned from matters which are legal in nature.

  • More Change
Barack Obama campaigned on hope and change. He said "yes we can" and people agreed. Some changes have been made, however we need to push for as many changes as possible a) in the remainder of this term and b) if he gets reelected. Obama is working with an extremely difficult Congress however we have to continue to push for changes as hard as possible.

  • Seniours rights for support
All of our adult lives we "law abiding", hard working seniours have contdributed to the "Greater Good". Now, the people who are supposed to represent us, want to deny us a support system in our old age. I believe that the only way to help them to see the folly of such is to use our collective political power to take away some of their benefits. We do have that right, don't we? We, the People, can and should make them "cut back" as well.

  • Small Entity IP
The abuses of the IP system, especially patents, are well known, and it is understood that they are so extreme as to threaten our economy. However, before I became an intellectual property attorney (and at least a part of the reason I became an IP attorney) is that IP as it applies to small entities can be very important, and a major force for the good of our nation. Specifically, as a small inventor, I had two inventions stolen from me due to the lack of protection (I had not patented them), and one of them was rather valuable (both of them were inventions I was working on to bring to perfection, and, in fact, had spent considerable sums on, so not JUST ideas, these were inventions). However, Congress has mandated that the USPTO be profitable, and at the same time has mandated that small inventors get huge discounts. To ensure profitability, the USPTO has made the Examiners responsible for profitability personally. The inevitable result - small entity patents, no matter how valuable, are routinely rejected - with NO recourse by an independent agency! The certain result will be a decline in true innovation in the US!

This Act will enable candidates to run for office using small donations from average individuals along with matching public funds. If this Act passes a candidate can choose not to take money from special interests or lobbyists.
