Stop The Raids On Agricultural WorkersThe Trump administration is escalating their attacks on small town immigrants working in the agricultural industry. On April 5, 2018, Trump officials arrested 97 immigrants at a meat-processing plant in rural Tennessee. It was one of the largest workplace raids since President George W. Bush was in office. Recently, the Trump Administration stormed John Collins' dairy farm in upstate New York without a warrant. They cuffed him and destroyed his phone after seven officers came onto his property and several went into his milk house without permission. The officers detained one of his workers, who had documents to work on the farm, pinning the man up against the window in the process. These raids are absolutely devastating for small towns. They destroy our agricultural economy and they separate families. Please join with us and demand that the Trump Administration stop their raids.2,045 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Matt Hildreth

Paul Ryan: Pass the Dream Act Now!Last week, Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) announced that he is stepping down at the end of this term. That means he’s quitting Congress at a time when Donald Trump’s deportation force is separating more families than ever. Paul Ryan has stated a belief in immigration reform and the Dream Act. Just last year, he told a Dreamer, Angelica Villalobos, that people like her don’t need to worry about being deported. “I hope your future is here,” he said. Yet Speaker Ryan has never taken action on the Dream Act or other legislation that would help immigrants. He has been too cowed by Donald Trump and the white nationalist extremists in his own party. In fact, Ryan has allowed the Steve King wing of his caucus to hold numerous anti-immigrant votes. But Paul Ryan still has nine months left in his term. The Dream Act would pass in the House, if Ryan allowed it to come up for a vote. He has nothing to lose, and he could help change the lives of almost 800,000 young people who call America their home. Tell Paul Ryan: it’s not too late! Take action on the Dream Act now!249 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Matt Hildreth

Los Alamitos officials, you're on the wrong side of historyThe Mayor and Council members of Los Alamitos have joined Trump and hate group FAIR in attacking California's Values Act, SB54, which rejects the use of state and local resources for Trump's mass deportation agenda. It's a coordinated attack that Fox News has played 24/7 to rally their followers in Orange County. Let's show them that Trump's racist tricks have no place in California. #DefendSanctuary #ICEoutofOC #CAValues75 of 100 SignaturesCreated by SG Sarmiento

Stop hurting Dreamers. Bring Marco back home!President Trump said he would treat our nation’s Dreamers "with heart" and that they have "nothing to worry about," but his administration barred DACA recipient Marco Villada from re-entering the United States, despite assuring him that he would be able to come back home after obtaining his visa in Mexico. Marco has lived nearly his entire life in California and did everything the government asked of him to adjust his immigration status. Despite that, Marco is currently stranded in Mexico, away from his husband, family, and community in Los Angeles — the only place he knows as home. Barring Marco from the United States goes against everything our country should stand for. #BringMarcoBack366 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Adela de la Torre

Tell ICE: Reverse policy on immigrant mothers!Last week, the Trump Administration announced that it was ending a policy that generally releases pregnant women from immigration detention centers. Under President Obama, immigrant mothers-to-be were typically released except in rare circumstances. ICE’s new policy means that more pregnant women will be detained, and is part of an agenda to detain more immigrants than ever before. The policy change is especially concerning because ICE has a record of not always properly giving immigrants proper access to health care. Many immigrant would-be mothers have lost pregnancies while in detention centers. ICE still hasn’t said what it plans to do with nursing mothers. Immigrant women need to be treated with dignity and given a chance to access proper prenatal care. ICE needs to reverse its new policy and release pregnant women from immigration detention! Please tell ICE Director Homan to stop taking risks with the lives of immigrant women and their children.1,466 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Matt Hildreth

No National Guard troops on the borderTrump's plan to dispatch National Guard troops to the souther border is yet another cruel action blatantly intended to harass, intimidate, and hurt immigrants and refugees. Trump, and his administration, have consistently harmful implemented policies, ended protections and programs for immigrants, and blocked legislative solutions to ensure that immigrants are safe from harm and harassment. His ridiculous border wall remains massively unpopular—and his relentless focus on a wall ignores the majority of Americans who oppose it. This ploy to send National Guard troops to the border is his latest attempt to hurt immigrant communities. But he cannot do this without the cooperations of governors. Some governors—like Arizona's Gov. Doug Ducey and Texas's Gov. Greg Abbott—have said they support sending National Guard troops to the border. It'll take a massive outcry to stop them.6,255 of 7,000 SignaturesCreated by Corinne Ball

Tell Secretary Nielsen: Stop separating families!“I just want to know where my daughter is and that she is safe. She’s two years old, and it’s been two months since we were separated—I don’t know why we were separated. I don’t understand. We came here to seek help, we were afraid for our lives.” -Father, seeking asylum and being held in an adult immigration detention center at the U.S. southern border in August 2017. Described as “very depressed” due to the separation by his housing mates to WRC. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) under Secretary Nielsen’s leadership has been tearing children apart from their parents to scare others from coming to our borders. There’s no justification for this practice. These families and children aren’t threats to our safety. They’re often fleeing unspeakable violence and persecution in their home countries. Many are from Central America, home to some of the most dangerous countries in the world. The administration has claimed that they must separate children from their parents to protect them. But policies exist for protecting children—and separating them from their parents is not the way. There’s no security crisis either. Border apprehensions are at decades-low levels, according to the government’s own data. It’s cruel to punish parents who are doing everything they can to protect their children and to punish children by depriving them of their parents. Separating a child from a mother or father only leads to more trauma for all. Losing a child is every parent’s worst nightmare. DHS shouldn’t play politics with families to try to discourage people from seeking protection, and there’s no legal basis for doing so either. Family unity is one of our core values and is reflected in our laws. Our government has a responsibility under U.S. immigration law to hear a person’s immigration or asylum case, not to try to scare them away from asking for help. Doing so puts these families at extremely high risk of experiencing further rights violations. Separating families is also expensive. By some estimates, the government practice of detaining mothers and children apart from each other would cost taxpayers an average of $327 million per year. And keeping families locked up together is also expensive and cruel, when there are cost efficient and effective alternatives to detention. That money won’t make our country safer; it would only waste taxpayer dollars. Separating families or keeping them locked up in detention is NOT a solution. It won’t make us safer or stop people from seeking protection when they have no other option. It’s not who we are. Sign this petition to tell Secretary Nielsen to stop separating families at the border once and for all. Children belong with their parents in safe communities, not locked up in detention centers. We are better than this.
