Reuniting familiesMy husband Luis Enrique Arriaga and father of our son was deported April of 2010. Lawyers will not take our case because he faces a permanent bar for claiming to be a US citizen. We may not be able to bring him home unless this bar is removed, please help our family to stay together and make a positive contribution to our country. As a US citizen I should have the right to live with my spouse, in my country of birth, and every boy needs his father.33 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Laura Arriaga-Benson

Help keep Blanca and her family togetherBlanca Solis is the hard-working, single mom of Valeria (6 years) and Ulises (11 months), both of whom are US-citizens. Yet, on Monday she could be deported and her kids left without their mom. Blanca’s case is like too many we’ve heard before. After being pulled over for a simple traffic violation, Blanca showed the deputy her New Mexico driver’s license and proof of insurance. Still, she was handcuffed and taken to jail. Blanca has lived in in Las Cruces, NM for almost a decade and if deported, her children risk spending the rest of their childhood in foster care away from their mother. This is un-American and another clear sign of our broken immigration system. But it's not too late for Blanca. Just this week, supporters like you helped stop a similar deportation of a father of four in Ohio when we send thousands of petitions. If we raise our voices again, we can do the same for Blanca. Please join us in telling the El Paso Field Office to stop Blanca's deportation. Blanca's entire family is depending on us.4,331 of 5,000 SignaturesCreated by Matt Hildreth

Tell Rep. Maloney: Don't let the dream dieSo many good, hardworking people that I know are ready to do whatever it takes to get on a path to citizenship. The senate's bill gives them a path. It give's them a chance to keep their families together, and gives our country the chance to bring millions of our de facto residents out of the shadows and into our larger community.232 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Daniel Buzi

Congressman Castro, Support a Discharge PetitionMost Americans are immigrants or descendants of immigrants. We or our ancestors arrived to fashion their dreams on this land. Many of us still work tirelessly so that our children and grandchildren may have a better life. The same is true of all immigrants who have come to our country from any nation and under any circumstance. They are willing to work hard and provide for their families in the best way they can. Some have difficulty with a new language; most of us would were we to be transplanted to another country. In short, their dreams are now what our dreams were. For many years our country’s immigration system has been slowed by inefficiency which throws up barriers to new immigrants who want to become citizens. Many are taken advantage of by unscrupulous employers who threaten them and pay them miserly wages. They play on the fact that many of these immigrants have entered the country without proper documentation and are vulnerable, since they can't complain. We all want safe and secure borders. This does mean that we should remain vigilant and create obstacles to undocumented entry into this country. It does not mean that we should create a hyper-militarized zone along our southern border and through the various border communities not unlike what we saw in Iraq during the conflict there. Earlier this year, the Senate passed a comprehensive immigration reform bill that is a good first step and a framework for a lasting immigration reform bill. It also includes an onerous amendment, the Corker-Hoeven Amendment, that would cost us about $47 billion over the next ten years to include doubling the number of Border Patrol Agents and also result in the militarization of many of the communities along the U.S. side of the border with Mexico. This is money wasted and money that many believe will eventually find its way into the pockets of various politicians' friends and companies. The House of Representatives "led" by John Boehner, is dragging its feet on any sensible reform legislation. We need to hold his/their feet to the fire when they return from their August Recess. Besides fixing the system so that those who already have been waiting in line for citizenship for far too long have an expedited access through the process, Congress needs to develop a system where those here already who are undocumented, have a reasonable pathway to obtain their own citizenship while avoiding the present practices of breaking apart families.. If the Republicans refuse to bring the Senate bill to the floor for a vote and refuse to introduce their own bill, Democrats can use a tactic called a discharge petition to attempt to move the Senate bill to the House floor for a vote. We urge you to join us in calling on Representative Joaquin Castro from CD-20 in Texas to champion this move toward a discharge petition.137 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Stephanie Hamm

Rep Sam Farr: Lead the comprehensive immigration reform bill forward by supporting a discharge pe...The Senate passed a strong comprehensive immigration reform bill. Immigration reform will strengthen our economy, keep families together, and offer a clear roadmap to citizenship for nearly 11 million tax-paying, aspiring Americans. As a white 10th generation American, I've had access to the American Dream that hard working undocumented youth and families have a right to as well . I want legislators to stand up for equality and justice for all by giving the 11 million aspiring Americans a fair opportunity to live the American dream.65 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dana Kaiser-Davidson

Please take the lead in this historic moment by introducing a discharge petition to bring the Senate immigration bill to the House floor, if Speaker John Boehner refuses to do it himself.423 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Christopher Radulich

Support a Pathway to CitizenshipI would like for my representative to Congress, Howard Coble, to support bringing comprehensive immigration reform to a vote. I believe all human beings should be treated in a decent manner and should not be exploited. The current situation is indecent and leaves immigrants vulnerable to exploitation.36 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Barbara Council

Tell Congresswoman Judy Chu to support a discharge petition for comprehensive immigration reform!Comprehensive immigration reform is dying a slow death in Congress because House Speaker Boehner—who has the power to demand an up-or-down vote on the reform bill—refuses to get out of the way.Bnut there is a simple way that Democrats can bypass Boehner and save immigration reform. They can introduce the Senate bill, which passed with broad bipartisan support, then use a discharge petition to force an up-or-down vote in the House of Representatives. A discharge petition is the most viable option to pass comprehensive immigration reform this fall. It only takes 218 votes to file a discharge petition—that's every Democrat in Congress and 17 Republicans. Support for the discharge petition is growing in the media and among members of Congress. Millions of hard working families are waiting for the opportunity to have a path to legalization. As a proud American citizen and former undocumented immigrant legalized under the 1986 Amnesty, I support them and want them to know the American Dream is alive and well in 2013! Please join me in asking Representative Judy Chu to support a discharge petition for comprehensive immigration reform!234 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Evelyn Cortez-Davis

Immigration reform will strengthen our economy, keep families together, and offer a clear roadmap to citizenship for nearly 11 million tax-paying, aspiring Americans. As a child of immigrant parents, I want to see an immigration reform law passed this year, which is supported by the majority of Americans. Pedro should not be separated from his family!Pedro, a father of four from Elyria, Ohio, is scheduled to be deported this week -- but there is still time for you to help keep him home with his family. Pedro is the primary caregiver for his stepson, Juan, who has cerebral palsy and is entirely dependent upon others to take care of his basic needs. Pedro was a firefighter in Mexico and came to the United States over 10 years ago in search of a job, and built his life with with his wife, Seleste, in Elyria. He has a kind heart and he is exactly the sort of person America should welcome with open arms, not expel. Please sign this petition to stop Pedro's deportation -- Pedro is counting on you. According to policies set by President Obama, there are multiple reasons Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should stop Pedro's deportation – reasons the local ICE office has ignored: He has resided in the U.S. for many years. He is married to a U.S. citizen. He is father of four U.S. citizens. He is the “primary caretaker of a person with a mental or physical disability.” ICE already ignored these factors once: they deported Pedro earlier this year, after the Border Patrol mysteriously showed up at his home when he was returning from his son’s daycare. Pedro returned to the United States because he knew that his family was suffering without him and needed his help—everyone in the family, but especially Juan. Now, ICE is preparing to make the wrong decision again. Pedro is currently being held by ICE in a local county jail, and could be deported this week. When Congress passes immigration reform, Pedro may qualify for immigration status and eventually citizenship. This is all the more reason for ICE to step in now and grant Pedro deferred action until Congress can finish its job. Help keep Pedro with his family: Please contact ICE today.7,894 of 8,000 SignaturesCreated by Matt Hildreth
