This petition is to keep offender Raymond Culp A270120 in prison. We as a community do not want this man out. When you work in an Emergency Room, you see a lot. I’ve been a nurse in an ER in Riverside, CA for over 25 years, and I’ve developed pretty good instincts. One night, I had a young patient who was clearly in some mental distress. My gut told me that I was in danger. I called security, but because of our hospital’s policies, they wouldn’t even come in the room, since the patient hadn’t actually attacked me. Yet. I listened to my instincts, and asked two coworkers to come in the room with me for my protection while I continued to attempt to treat the patient. I was standing close enough to draw blood, and turned to my workstation for just a moment. Out of the corner of my eye I could see him coming at me, and that was the last thing I saw for about ten minutes. The patient had punched me in the back of the head, slamming my head into the concrete wall. I was temporarily blinded, but I could hear the sounds of the patient’s father and one of my coworkers subduing him. This whole time, security did nothing. The police wouldn’t take down a statement. There was nothing they could do, they said. I was badly injured, and out of work for several weeks recovering. If it hadn’t have been for the two coworkers that I brought into the room for my protection, I shudder to think of what could have happened. I don’t think I’d be writing this today. I was traumatized by the experience, but sadly I was not surprised. Ask any health care worker you know and they are bound to have a story about violence in the workplace. Too often, hospital management does nothing to respond to these recurring incidents, preferring to cut corners and increase profits, leaving workers in danger. I don’t blame the mentally unstable young patient who hurt me. I was injured by my hospital’s policies, and by the fact that there is currently no system in place to address issues of workplace violence. Nurses, med techs, and other health care workers are on the front lines every day keeping all of our loved ones safe. We shouldn’t have to put our own lives at risk to care for the lives of others. Every hospital and medical facility should have a task force in place that makes sure hospital policies keep *both* health care workers and patients safe. Please join me in urging the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) and the California Hospital Association to take immediate steps to address the crisis of workplace violence by requiring that every medical facility have a workplace violence prevention plan that that puts the safety of patients and health care workers first.

My brother Steven Ercolino was murdered outside the Empire State Building on August 24th, 2012. The image of him lying in a pool of blood was front page news in the NY Post and NY Times. Now, the images are all over the Internet for our children and future generations to be victimized again. That"s why Diane Clausz and I created this petition.

A 1 year old Yorkie named Rose was brutally beat to death by a man whos girlfriend was watching the dog. He slung her around by her leash and slammed her into the concrete afterwards he beat little rose to death then put her in the trunk of his car and dropped Rose off at the local hospital instead of the vet and told them what he had done. We just want justice for Rose and peace for her family.please help us in our fight.

Google took almost three years to disclose to WikiLeaks it had handed over emails belonging to three of its staffers to the U.S. government under a secret search warrant, the Guardian reports. [1] The subjects of the warrants were WikiLeaks investigations editor Sarah Harrison, WikiLeaks spokesperson Kristinn Hrafnsson, and WikiLeaks senior editor Joseph Farrell. The court orders cast a data net so wide as to ensnare virtually all digital communications originating from or sent to the three, the Guardian says. Google was told to hand over the contents of all their emails, including those sent and received. Just Foreign Policy’s Policy Director Robert Naiman has communicated by email with all three of the named WikiLeaks staffers over a period of years using his Gmail account. Therefore, based on the Guardian report, Naiman believes that Google may have supplied the FBI with Naiman’s email correspondence with the three WikiLeaks staffers. Alexander Abdo of the American Civil Liberties Union said the warrants were “shockingly broad” in their catch-all wording. “This is basically ‘Hand over anything you’ve got on this person’,” he said. “That’s troubling as it’s hard to distinguish what WikiLeaks did in its disclosures from what major newspapers do every single day in speaking to government officials and publishing still-secret information.” Urge the FBI to destroy all copies of correspondence between Just Foreign Policy and WikiLeaks and pledge to refrain from spying on correspondence between Just Foreign Policy and WikiLeaks in the future by signing our petition. Nearly every other Nero Race has a special term for people who offend them and associated traditions for it. We need to spread the glory of the Fungee Mungee to all corners of Tyrra, and adding it to the official racial handbook is the biggest step towards that goal.

In recent weeks, many students have pushed for more comprehensive conversations about important matters such as race and mental health. If these conversations are to ever take place in a genuine way, our students should be exposed to all perspectives, not just ones they are comfortable hearing. If there is to be widespread engagement in these conversations, every student must feel safe to express him or herself without fear of retaliation and defamation. Thus, the AAS should add a clause barring its members from illicit discrimination particularly in, but not limited to, its allocation of funding. The Amherst College Honor Code states that, “Every student enjoys the right to full participation in the academic and social life of the college, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, ethnic identification, age, political affiliation and/or belief, sexual orientation, gender … economic status or physical or mental disability.” It continues: “Every student bears the responsibility to protect the rights of all to express their views.” It's time for the AAS Constitution to reflect that, and for AAS senators to be held to the same standard as every other student. I'm tired of seeing useless petitions.

In order for easy passage of emergency response vehicles, the special needs school bus, and commuters and for the safety of pedestrians and for children playing outside, we petition for the Waterleaf HOA covenant to be amended to discontinue the allowance of parking on the streets between 5:30 am - 11:00 am and between 2:00 pm - 5:30 am.

On March 1 2015, St Louis Cemetery #1 will only be open to visitors who are accompanied by a licensed tour guide. Sign the petition to request that the archdiocese adopt provisions that would allow local residents access to this important historic site free of charge.
