I am acting on the Sandy Hook Promise. Now is the time to for Congress to pass sensible gun laws that will help prevent similar acts of violence.

We need to stop the sale of high powered assault weapons ASAP. The US government seems to be cowed and manipulated by the NRA, meanwhile weapons sales increase. Walmart's CEO announced Tuesday that they are moving ahead to "do what is right" in employee and supplier issues at Walmart because "the beauty of the private sector is that we don't have to win an election, convince congress or pass a bill to do what we think is right. We can simply move forward. As a concerned former teacher and grandmother of four, I ask him to continue the forward thinking of Walmart and immediately cease sales of AR-15 guns.

With the increase in oil truck traffic, this has become a dangerous intersection. For driver's safety, there should be a light at this busy corner. This will allow traffic on both highways to turn safely.

I am doing this petition for the truth about the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementery School. I/ We want to know the truth if its a hoax or not. Alot of people have donated money to the familes that suppose of having lost there child or a loved one.Personally I am always on youtube an google when I have the spare time! I am personally offended that one of the children eho supposably was killed in the shooting was sitting on Obamas lap in a photo with her sisters, An even the fact the father "Robbie" was laughing it up an having a good time before the interview. I want the truth about the kids the suppose got killed also that escaped the class room an the guy sent them to the fire house an than the police station. We deserve the truth. we want to know why the goverment is geting away with this sort of hoax. why are you lying if you are. How can you live every day without this bothering you or anyone that 20 kids and 6 adults deaths were fake. proof on facebook google an youtube. an also ask.com. we derserve the truth an the people who donated deserve there money back an a public apology for the lies.also everyone else such as myself who has felt pain an discomfort for the children an families deserve an apology if this is just a hoax. On Friday, January 11th, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett announced plans to sign a contract with a foreign company to privatize the state's lottery. The current lottery, ran by the State of Pennsylvania, gives its profits to programs to help seniors. But under the new plan, a British company would be in charge of the operation and the money it generates. Tell Governor Corbett not to sell out our seniors.

Many public schools in Ohio have no way to prevent someone who may wish to do harm from entering the school buildings. Schools should at a minimum be required to have automatic locking/unlocking mechanisms on the entrance to the building. Where this is not logistically possible, an armed police officer should be stationed at the entrance.

Apply the technology of tvs with split screen access to all schools (public institutions) to be manned by trained personel ( either professional or volunteers) to keep instant view of ANY breech of an entrance-either window or door. W/o moving, an alert signal could be activated to all or police/fire depts. As we now know that seconds literally do count, it seems a cheap and effective way of cooling down would-be menace.

On the one month anniversary of the Sandy Hook shooting in Newtown, the National Rifle Association launched a free mobile application for Apple's iPhone and iPad that allows users, even children, to shoot at targets with various types of guns, including assault weapons. Initially the app was recommended for users as young as 4. On January 15th, Apple responded to our concerns by raising the recommended age to 12 and adding warnings of graphic violence (http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/nra-shooting-game-longer-preschoolers-18223790). This is a step in the right direction, but the app itself is shameless, insensitive and counterproductive, whether played by a 4-year-old or a teenager. We ask Apple to rescind approval of it.

This year the number of soldier suicides exceeded the number of casualties in the War in Afghanistan.
