NM State Parks are some of my favorite places to camp. I love the safe, family-friendly atmosphere in beautiful natural surroundings. Revoking the ban on concealed weapons will send a message that violence is acceptable, and may attract a less friendly crowd to our shared spaces.

The intersection of Packard Ave and Powderhouse Boulevard in Somerville has seen too many pedestrian injuries. On the night of November 8th, 2012, a Tufts student was hospitalized. Motorists routinely exceed the speed limit on Powderhouse because poor design makes them feel it's safe to do so. Let's show the City of Somerville and Tufts University that this matters to our community. Despite the traffic calming measures that have been put in place, as of November 19th, there is still more work to be done. NEW: What the intersection now needs is either a four-way stop or a Walk/Don't Walk signal that is activated by pedestrians seeking to cross Powderhouse. After the traffic calming measures that have been put in place, this is the next step. Possible construction is tentatively scheduled for spring of 2013. Safety around campus should be pressing, and a sense of urgency should be behind these decisions. Please work to make these changes swiftly.

Tell Congress to pass a law that, groups listed as hate groups should not be allowed a 501c3 charity status. Ministers like Scott Lively are spreading their message of "hate the Gays" throughout the world. Uganda is about to pass a bill that will put Gay men and Women to death.

Caffeine Free Coke Zero is only available in a few countries like France, Japan and the Neatherlands. It's about time it came to the USA and Canada. Lane County is named after Joseph Lane, Vice-Presidential candidate for the pro-slavery South, the Confederacy, back in the mid-1800s. He and many of his like-spirited friends later moved to this area, many more racists migrated here during the Great Depression. Word is, many of their grandchildren are doing a good job of reversing that heritage. Would they support a renaming of Lane County? What a fine symbolic act that would be!
