Winning the November election

The Harnett County shelter used to have a program in which 501(c)3 animal rescues could adopt from the shelter on Tuesdays without paying the $25 pull fee. This was an incredible service to offer so that rescues could claim unwanted pets before the Wednesday euthanasia deadline. Some rescues will take several animals at a time, but that adds up to hundreds of dollars that is better spent on food, shelter, and rehabilitation. Harnett county has a high influx of unwanted animals that the shelter is unable to manage. The Rescue Me Tuesday program ensured that every animal possible avoided an untimely end from euthanasia. It is an opportunity for the burden of the shelter to be shouldered by volunteers in the area. And reviving the program sends a good message to Harnett County residents that the shelter is rescue-friendly and they care about animals! We need a good number of Harnett County residents and animal-lovers from the surrounding area to sign this petition encouraging Harnett County to bring the program back.

I am a small scale farmer in Sullivan County. I would like to legally preserve and sell direct to customers the foods that I don’t sell fresh. Currently I would have to use a certified kitchen do this. A certified kitchen is expensive to build or rent. When food is preserved with a ph. of 4.6 or less there is almost no chance of pathogens surviving the preserving process. Selling preserved foods direct to the customer at farm stands or farmers markets would benefit the farmer and customer by providing value added products for the farmer and providing local healthy less expensive food alternatives.

I beleave that people while driving should be on cell phone; talking or TEXTING! Some states it is not allowed but it should be nation wide. School is back in setion and they will be on their bikes or walking. Too many people distacted on the cell.

Fox News revealed the identity of Navy SEAL involved in the Osama Bin Laden raid which put his life in danger and jeapradized our National Security. DOJ needs to take action at Fox news for this breach.

The situation for tobacco farm workers in North Carolina is dire. Many farm workers often live in labor camps with deplorable conditions, suffer from nicotine poisoning and exposure to dangerous pesticides, and work long hours for below poverty wages. Workers aren’t taking this sitting down though. They are organizing to improve working conditions and demand respect on the job even in the face of threats and firings. Sign our petition to call on Kangaroo Express COB Edwin Holman to visit the fields in North Carolina, talk to farm workers and support their fight for a voice on the job to improve working conditions.

I am protesting pay cuts for board certified physicians and officers in the U.S. Armed Forces. Never pay cut medical staff on duty during war time.

In attempts to run from their own party's stated agenda, Romney and Ryan are pretending that it really doesn't matter what that platform says. I want them to walk through each plank in the republican platform and identify whether they support or don't support it and why. (And if it's there and they DON'T support it, why is it there?) That is the least the American people deserve.

Every year our pool offers less and less hours for taxpayers who actually pay for the pool are able to use it. I am an avid swimmer in Florida–I want the pool to be open so I can use it. Once "summer" ends & school begins, the pool closes on saturdays. Once October comes the two nights a week the pool is open from June to October close. The rest of the year: October thru June the pool is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. I work as a teacher, own a house, so I pay property tax, and cannot use my city's pool! It is ridiculous! Ideas I have thought of is to sue the city because as a resident and tax payer I cannot use my rec center's pool. In the afternoon, the pool is rented out to a private entity. (Citizens used to have 3 lanes to use during the afternoon, now none). Obviously, Florida is hot just about all year long–the pool should be available all year long! 2nd idea, like Gandhi's non-violent actions, I would like to petition citizens who cannot use the pool to escrow the portion of their taxes that go to the operation of the pool until they open the pool, make it accessible to tax payers. Fitness counts, so does a healthy lifestyle! The director of the pool makes a good salary. He should be held accountable to make the pool accessible or lose his job. The president's council agrees that a healthy lifestyle is important. Let's leave the pool open for all citizens of Largo, Florida to use on a daily basis!

Events like First Friday and other special festivities have brought life to Chinatown and revitalized the area, drawing in visitors that support local businesses and keep Chinatown thriving. There are efforts underway to limit or eliminate such events and alcohol consumption therein. Please join & sign this petition to keep the party going in Chinatown.
