As a parent and educator and a creator of a number of small business enterprises, I have been shocked by the views expressed by Mitt Romney asserting the business owners succeed on their own.

Following the comments made by Missouri Congressman Todd Akin regarding the ability of the female body to "shut that whole thing down" following rape (referring to the falsity that rape cannot result in pregnancy), the scientists of The United States of America, respectfully request that he resign from the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. Representative Akin's comment shows a severe lack of understanding about human biology and define him as unfit to serve as a representative of the world's leading scientific community.

This petition is about the millions of dogs that are killed every year in America due to the greed and inhumanity of Puppy Mill owners and the continued indifference and inaction of the AKC. Puppy Mills are breeding factories where AKC registered dogs are kept in inhumane situations, forced to breed relentlessly with little to no veterinary care and whose offspring are often sick physically and challenged mentally. Please increase the pressure on AKC to revoke their certifications of all other dogs than those that are bred in private homes and who live as companion animals/pets.

As members of the Blackfeet Nation we understand the Civil Liberties of all Blackfeet members which states that all members of the tribe may enjoy without hindrance freedom of worship, conscience, speech, press, assembly and association, but we also see the need to enforce Ordinance 67 that states; "Whoever forcibly assaults, threatens, practices intimidation upon, or interferes with any Blackfeet Tribal Business Council, upon conviction be fined $500.00 and six months imprisonment in the Blackfeet jail" for the purposes of safeguarding and keeping the peace not only to ensure your safety, but the safety of all members of the Blackfeet Nation before it escalates and brings harm to not only yourselves or your families, but also to any individual member or families of the Blackfeet Nation.

5,200 people in the Pentagon have been paying and viewing child pornography and with their security clearences have been immune from investigation or prosecution! This is wrong and we cannot expect to force other countries to stop this abuse when our own govenment officials are the very culprits that let this crime continue. As a mom I am appalled and disgusted that this came to light two years agoo and to date nothing has been done .

My only option for retirement is a 401K. Even though my employer matches 50% (up to 4%) of my investment, I often lose money in a volatile market. Even the 'safest' investment which was supposed to carry no risk, now has a risk disclaimer. For those of us who prefer to not invest in the financial markets and who are content with a 50% match on our investment - a direct deposit into a FDIC retirement account would better fit our needs.

Jermaine is a 6 year old boy happy, outgoing, funny, healthy and extremely smart boy. We moved to CA in June 2011 with his dad's permission and court as well. Jermaine went to NJ to spend summer vacation with dad as agreed in court order on June 2012 and his dad has filed for SOLE CUSTODY. He claims that I that I have neglected Jermaine, due an incident that had happened at an after school program. The after school program had clearly stated that they would report this incident immediately. The after school program, failed to make any reports to CPS and Police. ( I learned about this recently). My son's dad is blaming me for not reporting to the CPS and Police. I trusted these facilities because they are State Mandated Reporters. In addition, I live with a single mom of a 6 year old boy and he claims the house I share is unfit for my son because we share a room but sleep in separate beds. In addition, he has not paid child support in nearly two years! The Judge in NJ is not releasing Jermaine until further investigation of CPS and Police Department of California. I was notified by CPS and Police Department that they cannot do any further investigations unless Jermaine is back home! Lastly, Jermaine is scheduled to start second grade on August 29th, 2012. Let's BRING JAY HOME!

I think grandparents need their rights back.Most grandparents have their grandkids but yet have no rights to do anything.
