The American public is becoming fat, if not morbidly obese, mostly due to our food choices. But in our food choices, especially the ones promoted as healthy, there are hidden super sugars that people could unwittingly be allergic to or that tend to compromise how our system produces and deals with hormones, which can cause more weight gain or prevent weight loss. The government needs to regulate what, and how much of the these ingredients should be in our food supply.

The Federal Reserve System is a tool of international bankers to turn us all into debt slaves. Over the past 100 years it has devalued our currency by about 95%. It is long past time to put an end to this corrupt, illegal and unconstitutional system.

PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO GET MARRIED AND HAVE A LIFE WITHOUT HAVING BENEFITS TAKEN AWAY OR REDUCED

Too big to fail has failed, we need to get back to what worked. Allowing Banks, to manage Insurance, Real estate, Stocks and Bonds, and the loans to support all of the above is dangerous as we have seen what happens. We need to limit commercial bank securities activities and affiliations between commercial banks and securities firms. Everything should be handled by separate entities.

Nothing changes until we embrace the truth that we are all one human race. Until we treat each other with compassion honesty and respect, until we really reach out that helping hand to all we meet we are doomed. Antibiotics are given to farm animals not to keep them healthy, but to fatten them for market. This overuse of antibiotics contributes to bacterial resistance to antibiotics, meaning that antibiotics may be ineffective when used to treat disease. A federal court has just ordered the FDA to reconsider its refusal to ban such use, stating that the agency "failed to address the substantial scientific evidence...[that use of these drugs] poses risks to human health," according to a press release by the National Resources Defense Council.

Currently, once a person earns $110,100, they no longer have to pay Social Security taxes. Many of us don't come close to earning this much. However, in 2011, the CEO of KKR & Co. paid off his Social Security taxes for the year before Jan. 10, 2011, six working days into the new year. If the income cap were removed, social security would be safe--probably forever.

On June 2, the Hanalei Farmers Market was ended suddenly with no advance notice to the 56 vendors who depend on it to make a living. The leaders of Hale Halawai, the non-profit organization that runs the market, say the closure is due to "unresolved parking and permit issues." They also said they were threatened with a lawsuit by unnamed individuals in the community. The closure of this marketplace would be debilitating for the people who share their locally-made treasures there: farmers, artisans, food vendors, and experts on Hawaiian culture. Consequently, these locals would have less income to put back into the community, creating ripple effects for everyone. To preserve the Hanalei Farmers Market and its invaluable contribution to the island of Kauai, the county would need to take the following steps: 1) Expedite the amendment of the current Special Use Permit and any other permits needed to enable the market to resume operations immediately. 2) Allow market guests to park in a designated area at nearby Waioli Park. 3) Keep the market open until these matters are resolved. The Hanalei Farmers Market is a blessing to our island. It must be saved. Mahalo!

Eliminate the accountants job security - and simplify the tax code! The current tax code allows for businesses and it's owners to pay a LESS EFFECTIVE TAX RATE than the middle working class. The theory is that they will invest in their businesses which will result in job creation. WHAT A JOKE! RESULT: Larger Executive Bonuses, while shipping jobs overseas for a better bottom line!
