I am beseeching all fellow beings, please petition YOUTUBE to block cock fighting, dog fighting, horse tripping and other deliberate acts of cruelty using animals as unwitting entertainment, the more shocking and cruel, the more hits-the more hit, the more YOUTUBE benefits with advertising dollars; the advertisers do not realize that they are inadvertently supporting horrific cruelty.

Why This Is Important The Pleasant Grove neighborhood is home to families, children, and residents who deserve to feel safe on the streets where they live. Unfortunately, excessive speeding has become a serious and ongoing problem in our community. Vehicles frequently travel through the neighborhood at dangerous speeds, creating constant safety risks for pedestrians, children playing outside, people walking their dogs, and families simply trying to enjoy their neighborhood. This issue has been brought to the attention of local authorities over the years, but the speeding continues without a permanent solution. Without traffic-calming measures in place, the danger remains every single day. Speed bumps are a simple and proven way to slow traffic in residential areas. They help protect the most vulnerable members of our community and encourage drivers to respect neighborhood speed limits. Taking action now is about preventing accidents before they happen. Installing speed bumps will help ensure that Pleasant Grove remains a safe place for families to live, children to play, and neighbors to walk without fear of speeding vehicles. Our community should not have to wait for a tragedy to occur before meaningful action is taken.

Why This Is Important To Us ​Our decision to operate a child care business within our family home is a profound commitment to our community and to the welfare of young children. This arrangement allows us to provide a unique, home-based setting that benefits children's development. We commit our professional lives, our properties, and our own family's privacy to this work. When the licensing system focuses on citing issues in our private lives—and allows those irrelevant citations to damage our public professional reputation—it feels like a complete dismissal of the quality, warmth, and dedication we pour into the child care environment every day. We seek to be partners in quality, not antagonists caught in unpredictable and invasive bureaucratic cycles.

QTS has not been forthright about the environmental, financial, and community impacts this massive project will bring to our small village. Residents deserve real answers before any approval is granted. The Village of DeForest should not move forward with any approval until QTS provides independent environmental and economic impact studies that are made fully available to the public. This company’s lack of transparency is unacceptable. We refuse to allow a reckless project to jeopardize the health, stability, and sustainability of our community. Let’s protect DeForest’s future before it’s too late. Sign this petition to tell the Village Board: No approval without full transparency from QTS!

Ebikes  are advertised and sold as bicycles, therefore, the dangers and safety risks are often overlooked by consumers. Without ANY age restrictions, education requirements or proper warnings upon buying ebikes, they are assumed to be as safe as riding a bicycle, and that is just NOT true. Please help us push for stricter warnings and requirements upon advertising, selling and purchasing ebikes. 

We fought hard to make CAPS a member lead union. CAPS staff are not state scientists and are not eligible to hold elected office.

It’s important that half our community doesn’t have to walk past a statue commemorating a group of folks whose aim was to eradicate their rights. 

I care about this neighborhood, it’s not just where I live, it’s part of who I am. I’ve seen so much change over the years, but now it’s starting to feel like the kind of change that pushes people like us out. There’s a plan in the works to bring a Hyatt hotel and private athlete housing to land that used to belong to our community. Remember the Robert Taylor Homes? They tore those down with the promise that they’d rebuild and bring families back. That never happened. Instead, CHA and our City Officials are selling off the land to developers tied to elite tennis programs and political insiders. People with money. People with power. People who don’t live here. And honestly? It hurts. It feels like the city is more interested in making deals than keeping promises. They say it’s “development,” but who is it really for? Not the families who used to live here. Not the students whose schools are now half-empty. Not the kids who need safe places to play, affordable homes, or someone to invest in their futures. There’s this guy Kamau Murray,  he runs XS Tennis. He says he’s doing it for the youth, but if you go by there, it’s all elite players, out-of-town visitors, and not much actual connection to the community. And yet, somehow, he’s the one getting city land. It doesn’t add up. I’m fighting this because I believe our neighborhood deserves better. We deserve homes, not hotels. We deserve to be heard, not sidelined. And I’m asking people to sign a petition, to stand with us, because once this land is gone, it’s gone. And so are the families who could’ve come back. So yeah, this is personal. I’m not just angry, I’m trying to do something about it. Because if we don’t fight for our neighborhoods, who will?

Collective voices create power. One voice can spark a movement, but many voices can’t be ignored. The more people who rally behind my cause, the more pressure it puts on decision-makers to right a wrong. This is how real change begins. It could happen to anyone. Supporting my campaign means recognizing that no one is immune to injustice. If it were their loved one suffering, they’d want the world to care too. 

The Harder Hall historic property was documented as sold to Robert Blackmon and several corporate entities on August 30, 2022. A proposal to transfer management and ultimately, ownership of the Sebring Municipal Golf Course and Caddyshack restaurant was presented by Robert Blackmon and an attorney on March 18, 2025. That meeting can be observed on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7_8DALdxCU with the presentation of the request and subsequent discussion beginning at 49 minutes, 46 seconds (49:46) into the meeting. In April of 2022, prior to completion of sale of the hotel, it is Mr. Blackmon’s assertion that in April of 2022 he had received assurances from city officials that “no one saw any issues with the idea” of this transfer. If city officials were aware of an offer on the table, why then did they expend city funds on improving a course they had intended to gift to corporate entities, furthering a loss of funds to the city? City facilities are not in the business of accruing a profit, but are there to serve the people of the city and county, which it has done for quite a while. It would be good for it to remain that way.
