Separate Socoial Security FundsTired of hearing the lies about how SSI is a drain on the Government and being called an entitlement when working people paid for and funded it.14 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Michael S. Adair

Extend Unemployment Benefits to More Than 1.3 million AmericansThese are people trying to do the best by their families. The only reason why they qualify for these benefits is that they have a work history. So you’re talking about people who’ve worked, who lost their jobs —through no fault of their own —and who are now actively looking for work.505 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Joshua Noehrenberg

Stop the closing of Homeless Youth Alliance (HYA)Everyday between 50-150 youth visit our drop-in center. Inside they receive food, clothing, hygiene, safer sex and harm reduction supplies. They can take a shower and use a bathroom. They can meet with a therapist, psychiatrist and medical provider and get their needs met. They can for a moment breathe, relax, feel safe and be treated without judgment and with the respect and dignity every person deserves. Mary Howe, Executive Director is a formerly homeless youth who has dedicated her career to developing and implementing interventions that empower young people to improve their own lives and those of their peers, and to addressing the structural causes of poverty and homelessness and to move beyond the streets. Howe said Homeless Youth Alliance is committed to helping homeless youth in the Upper Haight past the December 25 closure. The agency is looking for a van so it can provide services on a mobile basis and is hoping to find a new space in the Upper Haight. Services for improving the lives of homeless youth are essential and should be made a priority. Move info can be found at homelessyouthalliance.org5,603 of 6,000 SignaturesCreated by Fiona Flynn

Social Security is not an entitlement! Americans have PAID into Social Security and Medicare. We expect our lawmakers to not put out negative press releases about the social security system we have invested in our entire adult lives. If there are cuts to be made let them come from those who are prospering; not those living check to check. We expect our President and Congress to treat our retirement system (social security and medicare) with the same respect they treat their OWN retirement funds. We expect our elected officials not to use something we have PAID our way in as a bully pulpit for their own political motives or ambitions.16 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kathryn Dalenberg

Sign the petition to leaders of both parties: Increase Social Security benefits! While many pundits and politicians are talking about cutting Social Security, in real life declining 401(K) packages and home values mean more and more Americans won't have the savings they need for retirement. The answer? We must increase Social Security benefits. We can guarantee the solvency of Social Security for several more generations—and increase benefits—by doing away with the cap on Social Security taxes, which currently limit the amount wealthy Americans pay into the system. The vast majority of Americans think Social Security should be increased, and the wealthy should pay more in taxes to do it. Further, there are already bills in Congress to make this happen: H.R. 318 from Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA), and S. 308 from Sen. Mark Begich (D-AK). Please sign our petition calling on leaders of both parties to increase Social Security benefits.175 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Paul Hogarth

Parking accessibility for vendorsVendors of local stores are paying way too much to the Village due to summonses received by Meter Attendants, for expired meters. We, the vendors, are requesting permission to park at local, assigned spots, to avoid the metered parking. The spots should be distributed along all parking lots to assure the vendors' s safety at dimly lit walking paths.62 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Esther Arakanchi

Renew Extended Unemployment Benefits NOWI am one of the 1.3 million American workers who would be out of unemployment benefits by the end of the year if Congress does not renew extended UI benefits right away. I lost my job 10 months ago and have been looking for a job each and every day since then. Sen. Rand Paul is dead wrong that getting extended benefits would be a "disservice" to those of us who are desperate to get back to work to support our families.67 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ms. Ronnie J Kweller

Grandparents RightsI am a grand parent that has helped raise my grand daughter since the day she cried into this world, and I am now not allow to see her and she was ribbed out of my home because the mother and I don't get along. This is not right because of the emotional distress that it plays on the child and the grand parent. Let's change the laws to say that the grand parent has a right to have visitation as well. There are many of us that are raising our grands now with no laws that will side with us should this happen to you. Don't you want to fight back?18 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sherri Fletcher Wells
