• Oppose any cuts to Social Security.
Social Security in no shape or form contributed to the deficit, and therefore should not be cut and or cola. Social Security should not even be on the table for discussion - recipient(s) have paid into Social Security during their hard working years.

  • Stop the proposed cuts to Social Security and Veteran's Benefits.
In 2008, candidate Barack Obama told the American people that he would not cut Social Security, but now President Obama proposes to cut Social Security and veterans' benefits with the "chained CPI" (an adjustment that would reduce cost-of-living increases to Social Security and other federal benefit programs.)

  • Shameful!
While this country engages in conversation about making illegals citizens, it is trying to deprive those who paid into a system for decades their full social security benefits. This is not the president we voted for and they are simply appalled that he would entertain such a notion as corporate entities like GE pay ZERO in tax. This is NOT A VIABLE SOLUTION. This is absolutely a fulL attack against America's middle class!

  • Grace Meng, Oppose cuts to Social Security
My husband and I depend on our Social Security payments for our living expenses. We can alter spending habits on food, clothing and incidental expenses, but when medical needs arises, there are seldom cheaper options except foregoing treatment.

  • Do not cut Social Security
Retirees have earned the right to a future that is not filled with the loss of food, shelter, and the basic rights of life. They have given for their country and paid for the future for us all.

  • no social security cuts!
Please tell the president to not cut social security. Many older people who have worked and paid into this system their entire lives, now might be forced to deal with cutting out their money which has been promised to them while dealing with rising health care costs.

  • Do Not Cut Social Security
President Obama has proposed cutting Social Security by lowering cost-of-living adjustments for current and future retirees. These cuts, sometimes called "chained CPI," will hurt seniors who have paid into the system for their whole lives and are already struggling with rising health care costs. If President Obama insists on pushing these cuts, then it's up to Democrats in Congress, including Montana Senators Jon Tester and Max Baucus, to say no. But standing up to a president of your own party isn't easy, and Democrats are unlikely to do it unless they hear from constituents.
