• My body. My choice.
We women should not be banned from our bodies! We are pro-choice; NOT their choice. I'm a woman and believe I should never have to ask for permission for my body.

  • Tell Gov. Kay Ivey to reject Alabama's dangerous abortion ban
The government's increased control and politicization of women's bodies is unacceptable. Families in Alabama, Georgia, Ohio, and communities across the nation are under attack, and Governor Kay Ivey has just days to make a decision to veto a dangerous bill being sent to her desk. She should veto the bill. Every person has the non-negotiable human right to determine whether, when, and how to create a family. In Alabama, pregnant people face many barriers impeding their ability to access the general and reproductive healthcare they need. People espousing "pro-life" politics frequently talk about how much they love pregnant people and babies. However, their political agenda does not extend to ensuring that pregnancy and birth are safe for pregnant people or that parents, children, and families can access the healthcare they need to live healthy lives. The state of Alabama's refusal to expand Medicaid access has caused a decrease in the number of local hospitals and healthcare providers in urban and rural areas. This means that a large number of pregnant people are going without the prenatal, birth, and postnatal care needed to ensure healthy pregnancies and birth outcomes. Maternal and infant mortality rates remain high in Alabama, but those shouting about the need to "protect babies" from abortion are hostile or indifferent to initiatives like Medicaid expansion that would make a tangible, positive impact on the health of Alabamians. In solidarity with the thousands of Alabamians who need abortion access every year and the millions of Alabamians who have had and benefited from abortion access, we demand that the Governor veto the extreme abortion restriction bill.

  • Tell Congress that tampons, pads and menstrual cups are not luxury products!
The average woman spends 2,535 days on her period. That’s nearly seven years of her life of worrying if she has the necessary products to get through the day and trying to find a makeshift solution if she doesn’t. These “solutions” can lead to skipping work, school, or to severe health problems, like toxic shock syndrome. This is especially true for incarcerated women, where 80 percent have had to use a homemade tampon and 88 percent had to resort to leaking blood. While women spend a significant amount of money purchasing menstruation hygiene products each year—$2 billion to be exact—these essential goods are still inaccessible for many. There are currently no government assistance programs to help offset the cost. Menstrual hygiene products not only impact a woman’s health, but also her self-esteem, education, and economic empowerment. Yet for many, these essential products are not accessible. It’s time to fix that.

  • #MenForTheERA Demand The Senate Hold a Hearing on the Equal Rights Amendment
The Equal Rights Amendment is one state short of the threshold required by the constitution for ratification. Republicans in the Senate cling to a not-constitutionally supported version of events, pretending their arbitrary deadline for ratification means that the ERA is dead. This is simply not true, and the ERA is more important now than ever. Equality is not an issue of party. It is not an issue of politics. It is an issue of basic human dignity. The Equal Rights Amendment is a powerful and simple statement: we are all equal. Without this equality, there is no security. Without this equality, there is no safety. Without this equality, America can never live up to the aspirations of the framers and every person who continues to make us who we are. As men, we know that enshrining quality for all Americans in the Constitution will send a powerful message at home and abroad: that "We the People" includes us all.

This petition was created to help end female genitalia mutilation in The United States. As of right now, FGM is still considered legal in states across the USA and affects girls of all ages. We want to put a federal ban, as well as a state ban to ensure this cruel and barbaric practice is ended.

  • SIGN: Sheriff's office charging pregnant mother whose toddler couldn't wait for potty
Not only is this charge unnecessary, but also disgraceful on behalf of the sheriff department! This was about a small child. How many men stop alongside the highway to relieve themselves without being charged with any type of citation? I'm sure the sheriff department has more pressing issues than a little boy having to use the restroom! A conversation would have been sufficient; and I'm sure the mother would NOT have done this if it could have been avoided. After all, they were headed to the restroom. • Make Equal Pay for Equal Work the Law
Right now, women make up nearly half of the United States’ workforce, bringing billions of dollars into our economy and serving as the sole or primary income earner for almost half of all households. Yet despite the immense economic power they hold, women make on average only 80 cents for every dollar a white man makes. However, for women and other people of color, the pay gap is often even wider, with African American women making 61 cents, Native American women making 58 cents, and Latina American women making just 53 cents for every dollar. This is unacceptable. Decades after the passage of the Equal Pay Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act, women and people of color still face lower starting salaries and fewer opportunities for professional growth. This contributes to higher levels of poverty for women and children and reinforces social and economic barriers to health, education, and social opportunities. Right now, the Senate has a chance to pass legislation that will bring us closer to eliminating the wage gap and ensuring that women receive equal pay for equal work. Yet despite recently passing with bipartisan support in the House of Representatives, Senate Leader Mitch McConnell is unlikely to even bring the legislation to a vote. That’s why we need your help. Sign our petition today to tell Senate Leader McConnell to support people of color and women—#PeopleLikeUs—by bringing the Paycheck Fairness Act to a vote. Together, we can ensure that all people are paid what they have earned, regardless of their gender, race, or ethnicity! Want to do more? Share this petition with your network, then call your Senators and tell them to urge McConnell to vote on the bill and ask them to support this critical piece of legislation.

  • Menstrual Products
As students, faculty, and staff, we believe that we should be provided with free menstrual products at Chabot as we are majority low income students. Menstrual products are a basic need and we should not be met with the challenge to suffer through school without menstrual products or having to miss school due to having a menstrual cycle. We created this form to call attention to this basic need and make change in order to continue our education at Chabot without the concerning ourselves with having to choose between buy pads instead of a meal, missing school, or using toilet paper in place of menstrual products, etc.
