  • Support Kellogg's
Breitbart News, of which Stephen Bannon is former executive chairman, is urging consumers to boycott Kellogg's products after Kellogg's pulled its ads from their site. Calling this defection a "leftist plot," Breitbart has declared "war" on Kellogg's and is promoting a DumpKelloggs campaign. We need to support Kellogg's for acting with integrity in the face of bigotry and intolerance. Call Kellogg's at 1-800-962-1413, or write them at Kellogg's Consumer Affairs / PO Box CAMB / Battle Creek, MI 49016. An online form for email can be found at www.kelloggs.com.

  • The CBC Must Boycott The Trump Inauguration!
To protest the divisive and destructive cabinet picks of Steve Bannon and Jeff Sessions by Donald Trump. Although white supremacy and racial discrimination pose dangers that are unique to specific segments of the citizenry, the 2016 presidential election demonstrated that they present a combined threat to American democracy and stability and therefore endanger all citizens.

  • Mothers' Justice Movement
PETITION STATEMENT In 2012, the U.S. Department of Justice released a study (Saunders Report) that found the STANDARD and REQUIRED domestic violence training received by judges, lawyers, and evaluators does not adequately prepare them to handle abuse cases. Inadequately trained professionals tend to believe the myth that mothers frequently make false allegations. MOST contested custody cases are actually domestic abuse or child abuse cases in which abusers have been allowed to use the courts to regain control over their victims, and bankrupt the safe, primary care-giving, protective mother. PETITION BACKGROUND WE ARE PETITIONING FOR A STATEWIDE INVESTIGATION OF FAMILY COURT PRACTICES IN AN EFFORT TO STOP CONNECTICUT JUDGES FROM HARMING INNOCENT DEFENSELESS CHILDREN. Connecticut residents are being bled of our most valuable resource, the innocence of a child, and because of which, we are slowly losing our grip on the future of America. Since 1998, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has continued a lengthy investigation into adverse childhood experiences (ACE). ACE is one of the largest medical investigations ever conducted to assess associations between childhood maltreatment and later-life health and well-being. They found that a child’s exposure to certain traumas, including domestic violence, child sexual abuse, or being separated from their primary caregiving parent, resulted in more illnesses and injuries to children in childhood through adulthood, i.e., social emotional and cognitive impairment; adoption of health-risk behaviors; disease, disability and social problems; and PREMATURE DEATH. This study demonstrates how a child’s exposure to these elements are a PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUE. Yet every year, an estimated 58,000 children are court ordered into custody or unsupervised visitation with a reported abuser. Additionally, current research estimates that false allegations of sexual abuse happens less that 2% of the time, yet 85% of those children are court ordered into shared or sole custody with the parent that is raping them. Inadequately trained professionals tend to believe the myth that mothers frequently make false allegations, contrary to current research. Therefore, in thinking they have the needed expertise, family court professionals don't listen to domestic violence or child abuse evidence, experts, and they don't include current scientific research. Mothers are being forced into bankruptcy and poverty trying to protect their children, and their children are being irreparably harmed. We now have the medical research through the CDC to declare domestic violence, child abuse, and being separated from a primary attachment parent a PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUE. And the U.S. Department of Justice's Saunders report states that the STANDARD and REQUIRED domestic violence training received by judges, lawyers, and evaluators does not adequately prepare them to handle abuse cases. WE ARE PETITIONING FOR A STATEWIDE INVESTIGATION OF FAMILY COURT PRACTICES IN AN EFFORT TO STOP CONNECTICUT JUDGES FROM HARMING INNOCENT DEFENSELESS CHILDREN. We would like to see you, our leaders, echo your constituents concerns, and ensure that the HEALTH AND SAFETY OF A CHILD WILL COME FIRST IN DIVORCE AND CUSTODY LITIGATION. We thank you in advance for your support.

  • Demand GOP State Officials & Trump Stop Obstructing the Recounts!
The Green Party, along with thousands of individual donors (MI, WI and PA recounts), and now an independent election integrity organization (FL recount), have stepped up to the plate to demand recounts in states suspected of tampering with vote totals. But GOP officials in some of those states, along with GOP SuperPACs and Trump's campaign team, are doing everything they can to block the recounts. This is an affront to democracy and an abuse of power, and it must be stopped! The American people have a right to those recounts, and the assurance that the electors from those states legitimately won the right to chose the next president.

  • Congressional Leaders: Perform Your Checks and Balances on Donald Trump
The recent election has spurred the fears of many Americans for an assortment of reasons, whether fear for personal safety, for the continued defense of the Constitution, or for the position of Americans abroad. In recent days even outspoken Trump supporters have professed concerns with some of President-elect Trump's actions and appointments. While activism is vital, we must not forget that Congress is the first and most powerful check against the Executive Branch. We must continue to remind Congress that we hold them to their responsibilities towards the American people, regardless of partisanship or party affiliation. Congressional leadership must be reminded that we the people are watching, and we the people expect them to act for the wellbeing of all Americans.

  • Sinai Temple: Help Reconcile C-U's Traumatized Communities
Many communities in Champaign-Urbana were unexpectedly traumatized by the election of Donald Trump. Now, we need enlightened and responsible leadership in all corners to help our traumatized communities reconcile. Hillel said: "If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am only for myself, what am I? If not now, when?" "That which is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow. That is the whole Torah; the rest is the explanation; go and learn." The children of Abraham - fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, healed by the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer - need to be reconciled. Urge Alan Cook to use his leadership position at Sinai Temple to help chase away darkness and reconcile the children of Abraham in Champaign-Urbana by signing our petition.

  • Sue the Electoral College
I'm one of the 64,223,958 who voted for Hillary Clinton. I've seen how my vote and two million others (her lead over Trump) were thrown out the window by the Electoral College practice of assigning all Electoral College votes in any state to the winner in that state. My right to vote and and my rights of free speech have been abrogated.

  • We Deserve the Truth
I believe we should be entitled to the truth about any foreign government's involvement in our democratic elections. While we have evidence the Russian government hacked the DNC's server and John Podesta's personal e-mails, the letter sent by members of the Senate Intelligence Committee, on November 29, 2016 implies there is more information that should be declassified. The Electoral College votes for the next President December 19, 2016. They do have the power to pick the next President and should have all the information they need to make an informed choice. This is why it is urgent that you sign this petition today and put pressure on President Obama to release this information prior to their vote. To view a copy of the letter sent by US Senators to President Obama November 29, 2016 visit the following link. http://images.dailykos.com/images/333791/story_image/Wyden.jpg?1480572280
