Think tanks funded by the Koch Brothers spend hundreds of millions of dollars to indoctrinate working class families about Social Security and Medicare. We do not subscribe to their mainstream media assault on these programs because we have paid for them in advance through payroll taxes.

Concerned public officials think that it is important that American citizens have additional information about Russia's involvement in our presidential election. Our elections greatly effect each and every American and I think that we have both a need and a right to have access to that information.

To protest the brutalization of peaceful protesters and the contamination of natural resources

Disabled people are the largest minority group in the world. Destiny USA was funded through massive federal, state, and local tax breaks and subsidies. Now, Destiny and its parent company, Pyramid, are charging mobility impaired people $10 to rent a motorized scooter to traverse the massive mall. This is nothing more than an access tax by ableist corporate America. Enough is enough.

Because they want to eliminate ACA, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and pensions. People are already concerned about not having an income or insurance when they retire that we paid into. Congress is not entitled to take our money.

I am extremely alarmed that the violation of human rights at Standing Rock may set a precedent for the future. President Obama's silence is hard to believe. He should take a stand against these violations as a way of representing the voice of Americans who find the treatment of Standing Rock protesters to be a shameful episode in our history.

With millions of New Yorkers facing imminent threats, handing power over to a minority of Trump Republicans would be unconscionable. Gov. Cuomo has the chance and obligation to show his leadership and unite the party so that New York can serve as a hub of resistance to Trump's hateful and dangerous agenda. For years, Gov. Coumo has failed to vigorously support Senate Democrats. Now more than ever, it’s important that Democratic leaders stand up against the party of Trump, and Cuomo must use the full powers at his disposal to unite Senate Democrats.

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette has filed a suit to stop the recount of Michigan's presidential ballots. The State's Board of Canvassers, which runs the election, has already approved the recount, making Schuette's suit an outrageous attempt to obstruct democracy and prevent Michiganders from having their votes properly considered. The count in Michigan separates Trump from Clinton by a difference of only 10,000 votes. That total difference was already adjusted down by more than 2,000 votes from an initial tally, demonstrating the need for a full hand recount to ensure accuracy. While Clinton has won the popular vote by more than 2.5 million votes nationally, differences in a handful of key states like Michigan have given Donald Trump the electoral lead, which makes a recount all the more important to ensure the accuracy and validity of this result. Our elections are too important to have any uncertainty. Our right to vote is at the heart of our democracy, and we all deserve a recount that will ensure every vote is considered and counted.

In just a few weeks, Donald Trump will step into the Oval Office and be the most powerful person in the world. He never released his taxes. He owes money to foreign creditors. His campaign paid millions of dollars to his own businesses. Instead of using a blind trust, his children will be put in charge of his companies -- even though they're still advising him. Without being able to track Donald Trump's financial position, we won't know if he has a stake in the decisions he makes as president. He or his associates could even be profiting off the presidency. The potential for corruption is unprecedented. Both sides in Congress get this. Tell your members of Congress to prevent presidential conflicts of interest before Trump's inauguration.

Trump pledged to protect Medicare during the campaign, but his choice for Health and Human Services Secretary declared he will work to pass legislation ending Medicare as we know it during the summer of 2017. More than 40 million older Americans and 8 million people with disabilities are currently receiving benefits, and nearly every American benefits from the program during their lifetime—whether by receiving benefits directly or by knowing that they won’t need to pay for health coverage for their parents. In 2005, George W. Bush tried to privatize Social Security and progressives stopped him by working together with Democrats in Congress to just say no. Today, we support all of the great champions in Congress who are fighting to expand Medicare.
