  • Equal Access for All High School Racers at Hyland
Currently, Hyland's premier race lanes are dedicated to a private ski club. As a result, 84% of the High School racers who train with 16 teams at Hyland never get a chance to train on the steepest, best lit and best-equipped lanes. Athlete safety and development are the primary goals for all race teams. Skiers must have access to challenging and varied terrain to develop competitive and safe racing skills. Hyland is a public resource and all high school ski racers, whether they are on a private team or a public high school team, pay the same amount to train -- the cost of an annual pass. Will you join us in signing a petition to request fair allocation of Hyland's training terrain? Please visit Citz4Hyland.com for more information.

  • Honor The Brave Students Who Stood Up At The Assault At Spring Valley High
Several days ago I along with other Americans across this Nation viewed videos of a terrible and vicious assault against a 16- year old female student who was grabbed by her neck and pulled out of her seat and brutally slammed to the floor and then dragged across the floor by her legs and arms and on her face with less regard for than an animal or even a bag of trash. The videos went viral and it caused us to be traumatized to the point where we cringed in pain to even believe we were watching as a child was being brutally assaulted in her own school by a policeman. The policeman, Deputy Ben Fields, showed no regards for the young girls life and has surely physically and emotionally damaged her in way that may not ever completely heal and our children are effected by this brutal assault! There were students who were so scared for their lives as they were frozen in the seats, turning away to not have to view the horror of the assault; and for fearing they could be next if they showed any opposition to the man known for "slamming students." But there were students that risked their own safety to "STAND UP" and speak out and who thought quickly knowing this deputy's reputation. One student was arrested and charged for speaking up, crying out and even praying for her young classmate that was being assaulted by a 300 lb muscle man as she described Fields. Her name is Niya Kenny an 18-year old fellow classmate. She was told by Fields she was coming too. So, she just put her hands behind her back and was arrested. All this time the teacher, Robert Long did nothing to help the students. The other brave heroes are Tony Robinson Jr. who knew from the moment Deputy Fields walked in the room something bad was going to happen and he needed to start filming and Reginald Seabrooks who also posted a video and Aaron Johnson who posted tweets as to what happened. These students with a few others did the best they could do with what they had, even scared for their lives and being caught, to stand up as American Young Citizens to help their classmate who was being assaulted by Fields. She was a young girl, a human being and Fields HAD NO RIGHT TO ASSAULT HER! Sending out S.O.S and 911 EMERGENCY CRIES FOR HELP via alerting us of the assault that was taking place by video. I CALL THEM HEROES! Help me say, "THANK YOU" to these very BRAVE young people! We want them to know that we "STAND UP” together with them against the violence and we honor their bravery for their fellow human being. Because we know that WITHOUT THEIR VIDEOS and CRYING OUT FOR JUSTICE there would be no "real proof" and Fields would have gotten away with this vicious assault against this young girl. Something which had never been done before was catching Fields in the ACT of slamming and committing these brutal assaults on video, because it was always the kids word against a police. President John F. Kennedy said, "A Nation reveals itself not only by the individuals it producers, but those it honors." Honor these brave young people with me and show them that their efforts to STAND UP against the VIOLENCE they witnessed has not gone unnoticed. As PARENTS with your own children and as American Citizens, we applaud their bravery and their spirit to use their intelligence, their skills, their quick thinking and their compassion for a fellow human being so that JUSTICE could be served. I CALL THEM HEROES! It takes HUMILITY in order to see HUMANITY! Thank you for showing your pride in them. Please take a moment to write a positive message for all the officials in South Carolina to see. American Citizen & Parent

  • Let Nevada set its own Energy Policy
Nevadans know that clean energy development benefits our state, and that Nevada knows best how to develop its energy policy. Every day should be Nevada Day with investments in our natural resources. As we work to develop the Nevada Clean Power Plan, we should harness our own resources.

  • We Support and Thank CLU Res Life, Multicultural Programs, and the CEJ Department
After their inspiration from Wesleyan Student Affairs and Hampshire College to create a poster spreading awareness about insensitive costumes this Halloween, we are inspired to thank them for their efforts and intentions in creation of the poster. We would like to applaud the following people for their efforts in promoting and fostering an environment that encourages respect and appreciation of students from all walks of life. We, as students, are thankful to Andrew Hanson, Dr. Juanita Hall, and Dr. Rahuldeep Gill and their respective departments that helped create a flyer challenging students to question whether or not their costumes are offensive. In a world where being "politically correct" has become a dirty word for some, we see politically correct as treating people with respect. This poster helps and encourages students to question their own costumes, as well as their friends' costumes this Halloween. This aids in helping to avoid perpetuating harmful stereotypes, misinformation, historical and cultural inaccurate so we do not mock, trivialize, reduce, or generalize any specific group. This poster and furthermore, these departments, have intentions to raise awareness and in fact, encourage campus-wide dialogue on the diverse cultures, identities, and backgrounds present on campus, in our community, and globally. These posters are in alignment with the California Lutheran University's Mission Statement in that they are educating "leaders for a global society who are strong in character and judgment, confident in their identity and vocation, and committed to service and justice." Although this poster is just a poster, it has started conversations on campus and encourages the respect for the diversity on and beyond our campus. While some may disagree with these posters, those that sign this petition encourage and support these individuals and their departments to continue to challenge and spark conversation on the topics of diversity and respect.

  • Core Learning Has to Stop
I have a grandson and an adopted granddaughter. My granddaughter is having a total meltdown (she is 9) because she can't grasp the concept of the math and gets upset if she can not do well. This is putting to much pressure on the children and the parents. Sometimes in order to help my grandson with his homework, my daughter has to go online and learn how to do it. Life is becoming too stressful as it is without putting all this added pressure on our children.

  • Demand CLU Residence Life Apologize
Recently, Residence Life circulated flyers throughout residence halls ordering students to question whether or not their costume was offensive, or if they “represent a culture that is not [their] own.” Residence Life seems to be saying that it is only acceptable for students to wear a costume that represents their own culture? For example, are only Native Americans allowed to wear Native American costumes? Are only Japanese students allowed to wear ninja costumes? Isn't it offensive to reduce such deep and historically important cultures into stereotypes that must not be perpetuated, and to confine the celebration of said cultures to themselves? Is this not cultural segregation? Why does Residence Life assume that by a student dressing in a certain costume, it means that they are mocking that culture/religion? How does Residence Life know that they are not appreciating and showing respect for that culture? This does a disservice to the students of CLU by asserting that it is better to be offended than to express yourself. Residence Life does not give enough credit to the students to make wise choices, and reverts to taking away their rights to choose whatever costume that they so choose. By posting this poster around campus, Residence Life is the one creating a negative stereotype of all students at CLU. Residence Life is making a mockery of your students by believing that we cannot make wise choices because we are only college students and that we don’t know any better, when in fact, we are adults and they should give us the credit that we deserve. The students of CLU deserve an apology for Residence Life’s offensive assumptions. The following signatories share their exclusive agreement with this position:

Republicans have spent $4.5 million of taxpayer money on the House Select Committee on Benghazi—a committee that the Republican House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Republican Rep. Richard Hanna, and a Republican committee staff member have said was convened to make Hillary Clinton look bad in an attempt to hobble her presidential campaign. Taxpayers shouldn't be on the hook for Republican smear campaigns. Sign the petition: Make the Republican National Committee reimburse taxpayers for the $4.5 million spent by the Benghazi Committee attacking Hillary Clinton.

  • Now is the time to expose and end HOA homeowner abuses, criminality and property thefts across Am...
HOA homeowners are being abused, many fraudulently and criminally dragged into colluded and corrupt courtrooms to be stripped of their finances and property with no due process, no protections of the existing laws and no respect for their rights by those within the legal systems or the courts. It appears, in locales like Monroe County, Pennsylvania and other areas of America, that many of these many times greed-driven targeted abuses, crimes, frauds upon the courts and property thefts are gender based, family status based, age based, or targeting those with disabilities, or who have a family member with a disability, and some appear to be discrimination based and/or hate crimes too! We need national exposure of the HOA abuses across America and for the perpetrators of these crimes and injustices, no matter where they are, or who they are, or who they know, to be charged, to be prosecuted and sentenced and their victims rectified. Many of the HOA crimes and property thefts are being committed over state lines, and I believe these criminal acts warrant federal investigations, prosecutions and sentencing as well! It is long overdue that the HOA criminality, homeowner abuses and property thefts are put to an end in America, so let us all see this happen now! Thank you so very, very much! PS: If you have any doubt of what is truly going on in these crimes against innocent HOA homeowners, please listen to this recent interview with former PA Congressman and former PA Auditor General, Don Bailey (donbaileylaw.com) on twigscaferadio.com. The interview exposes the disgraceful, illegal and damaging injustices and "ongoings" in our legal system that anyone within this system, at every level and position, should be ashamed of! There is no wonder why and how this is happening to innocent HOA homeowners in "abusive" and criminal HOAs, along with their abusive accomplices in some courts and others! twigscaferadio.com Justice Served - Episode 7 - 10-28-15 In fact, all the "Justice Served" and "Jasikoff and Friends" and "Sanity Check" are well worth listening to. Here are the shows posted thus far: and I trust you will want to listen to all, especially important is "Justice Served" 10.20, 10.21,10,22, & 10.28 for starters, in my opinion! • Jobs for Felons
I am starting this petition because I am personally affected and I know I'm not the only one. These people cannot get a job, let alone decent job to provide for their family. My husband was convicted of a crime 8 years ago, released from jail and thrown into society. They can't get a job because to society they're frowned upon, need a license but can't get it due to an unreasonable, impossible amount of court fines to pay, and only good for welfare STILL having to work for free to even get food stamps. While taxpayers are paying for it, these men could pave a way for themselves. These men are humans like anyone else, they deserve a second chance as you and I would hope to receive. Felons and ex convicts are not being given proper help. Not only are these men suffering, but innocent children who did not ask to be here are as well. These children deserve the helping hand of both parents, Please sign to give someone not as fortunate a chance at life! We ALL make mistakes, its learning from them that counts!

  • CNN: No More Sexist Coverage
In an October 28th interview on CNN, anchorwoman Dana Bash asked Senator Lindsey Graham, "Date, marry, or disappear forever: Hillary Clinton, Carli Fiorina, Sarah Palin."[1] This question is not actually a question -- it is a drunken bar game. It demeans the impressive achievements of all three of these women, and it has no place in serious journalism At a time when few would argue against women's equality, CNN's actions are far from making sexism #disappearforever. Don't let CNN get away with its sexist, immature and disrespectful treatment of not only these women, but of all women.
