• Arrest John Boehner for Treason
By inviting Netanyahu to speak to the House privately without informing the President of the United States, the Republican controlled leadership of the House works not only against the President of the United States but also comes dangerously close to Treason. The text of the 8 U.S. Code 953 is as follows: "Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both. "This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply, himself or his agent, to any foreign government or the agents thereof for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects." Clearly, by his actions, John Boehner has violated the first paragraph. This sort of behavior has to be stopped and John Boehner has to be punished.

  • Byram, NJ Raise The NJ206 Speed Limit
The 35mph speed limit is too slow to be safe, and needs to be increased. There are sidewalks, crosswalks, and pedestrian crossing signals to keep foot traffic safe. There are 3 traffic lights that control traffic flow and they provide plenty of breaks in traffic so people can get in and out of local businesses. Those arguments for a 35mph speed limit bear no merit and do not hold water. Byram's only reason left is the stated goal of distracting drivers from driving so they will pay more attention to local businesses. Byram should not be trying to distract driver's attention from the road for the alleged gain of local businesses. Byram offers no proof that a lower speed limit does, in fact, achieve their stated goal. Is there any proof tha a speed limit of 35mph results in more business than a speed limit of 40? North of Shoprite there are no businesses, so why does the speed limit stay 35mph all the way to Lakeland Emergency Squad? I spoke to a representative of NJDOT in reference to my complaint. She was familiar with the section of highway in question, agreed with me and wished me luck. Byram, this is EVERYONE'S highway. Why don't you do the right thing and implement the speed limits I've suggested, as it was before the construction? People just want to get home. Drivers have enough distractions without Byram adding to them. Increase the speed limit. I was passed by 7 vehicles as I drove through there last Sunday at 35. My town's mayor was passed by a school bus Tuesday evening when he drove through at the speed limit. It isn't right for Byram to make every driver a law breaker. • No hidden riders or measures in Congressional must-pass bills
It's not right or fair for members of Congress to be tricked into voting for "must pass" bills that are loaded with unrelated items, and it's really not fair to the American people who then have to live with the consequences of these bills.

  • Federal Communications Commission (FCC): Require Advertisers to Incorporate Recycling Recommendat...
With all of the public knowledge about recycling, there are still people who do not recycle -- whether out of ignorance or apathy. If advertisers took the extra step in informing consumers (even in a small-text message at the bottom of their advertisements) about properly recycling their product and the importance of doing so, the United States could see a considerable change for the better in energy savings, greenhouse gas emissions, conservation of natural resources, and job creation.

  • President Obama: It's time to ban oil trains
Fayette County, West Virginia, is reeling from an oil train disaster today. Residents face flames shooting 300 feet in the air, and oil is spilling into the Kanawha River, the drinking water source for downstream communities.[1] From today's event to 2013's massive oil train explosion in North Dakota to the 47 people who lost their lives after an oil train explosion in Quebec, it is clear that oil trains put our communities at risk for death, injury, and destruction. Incredibly, first responders and local officials aren't usually informed that these unsafe trains are cruising through their communities carrying millions of gallons of explosive oil. These trains travel through major communities across the country, putting millions inside the evacuation zone of an accident like this. Our objective is clear: we need to get these dangerous oil trains out of our communities and out of Pennsylvania before they cause a catastrophic accident in the Keystone State. • Gov. McCrory: Stop sending our money to your donors
The Raleigh News & Observer reported on 2/15/2015 that Gov. Pat McCrory’s Dept. of Health and Human Services is extending a contract with Alvarez & Marsal for “performance improvement” of how the agency handles Medicaid finances. The contract with the Washington, DC consulting firm is now worth $8 million. It was signed a year ago without giving competitors a chance to bid on the work, and it keeps getting extended. The newspaper also reported, “Campaign finance reports show that the firm contributed $25,000 to the Republican Governors Association in April 2012 as Gov. Pat McCrory was running for office, and that the donation was used in the campaign to help elect him.” This is a textbook case of pay-to-play politics. Gov. McCrory promised to “clean up corruption in Raleigh” but ethical conflicts with Duke Energy and now this contract show that he needs to know people are watching what he does, not just what he says. Here’s the kicker: the contract is paying the company’s top executives $242 to $473 an hour! Please sign the petition to Gov. McCrory and forward it to others.

  • Block use of U.S. ground combat forces in Iraq-Syria
Congress is considering an authorization for the use of military force against ISIS. Progressives like Senator Bernie Sanders [1] and the Congressional Progressive Caucus [2] are concerned that the restrictions on the use of U.S. ground troops for offensive combat operations in the Administration's AUMF proposal are too vague, and could enable a future President to introduce U.S. ground troops into offensive combat in Iraq or Syria. They are also concerned that unless the 2001 AUMF is addressed, restrictions on the use of ground troops in a new AUMF will be meaningless. Many Republican “hawks” oppose the President’s AUMF proposal because they don’t want any restrictions on the use of U.S. ground troops for combat at all. [3] The main legal authority that the Administration has relied on for military operations in Iraq and Syria right now is the 2001 Authorization for the use of military force. There’s no restriction in the 2001 AUMF on the use of U.S. ground troops for offensive combat. If the 2001 AUMF authorizes bombing Iraq and Syria, then a future U.S. president can easily claim it authorizes sending 100,000 U.S. troops to Iraq or Syria for offensive combat. If a future President believes that the situation has changed and the use of U.S. ground troops for combat has become justified, he or she can then ask Congress for that authority. Tell Congress not to hand a blank check to a future President to use U.S. ground troops for combat in Iraq or Syria by signing our petition. • Renovate Clark Playground
I'm starting this petition because a park (Moore Park) not too far from where I live got renovated. In addition to that, they attached another building to the field house at that park which is almost complete. If that park can get a complete renovation, Clark Playground can, too. 13 years without a basketball tournament is a long time and I wanna break that streak. It's long overdue!

  • Save our children from drugs
I cannot find a drug rehabilitation place for my 17 year old. I have to wait until he is 18 and then he can make his own decision if he wants to go or leave the facility. One of three outcomes will happen: my son will either end up in jail and use taxpayers money or take more money from us by being on welfare, die where it will be the govt or states fault (big lawsuit) or grow out of it and be successful. One out of three chance. All of Long Island is affected by Xanax, marijuana, heroin, pills, etc. A psychiatrist told me to move off of Long Island. That is how bad the drugs are. We need to help our children before they can make their own decisions. We need help and soon.
