Ebay/PayPal CEO Donahoe, Retract Your TPP Endorsement LetterAs CEO of eBay and PayPal, along with about 500 other corporate advisors, you have, over the last 5 years, had unlimited access to the negotiating text of the TPP, while we, the people of the United States, have been barred from reading the classified texts. This puts you at an unfair advantage. This comes after 20 years of millions of jobs lost through NAFTA, CAFTA, the Korean Free Trade Agreement and WTO. Asking your customers to tell our reps to vote yes on fast track, a bill that, if passed, would hand Congress’ Constitutionally granted authority to make trade, (Article 1.8) to President Obama, and just ‘trust’ that he has our backs, reminds us of how we got swindled into NAFTA, by promises of good jobs and a boost to the economy. What we do know of TPP, through 2 leaked chapters, indicates it is much worse than NAFTA, and will only benefit the John Donahoe’s of the world, while the rest of us will see further outsourcing of jobs and even more depressed wages. Apparently, Donahoe’s idea of “trade modernization” and ours, where labor and environmental groups have a seat at the table are quite divergent. We have learned from over 20 years of NAFTA, CAFTA, WTO, and we are insulted that eBay/PayPal CEO, John Donahoe, would think we are gullible enough to go along with his collaboration with the U.S. Trade Representative’s campaign to fast track deals that will bury the people of this country and the fragile economy and send more jobs to Viet Nam with its 56 cent minimum wage, child labor, and human rights violations.884 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Harriet Heywood

Do Not Allow Time Warner To Charge Customers For Over-The-Air TelevisionTime Warner now has the capability to 'remotely encrypt' any and all televisions stations. This includes 'over-the-air' stations such as PBS, NBC and ABC that for decades were free (no cost) to the public. A powerful corporation -Time Warner - now LITERALLY CONTROLS THE PUBLIC AIRWAVES, dictating which channels they will allow you to view, and which channels they will not allow you to view. After the channels have been encrypted ("blocked" from your television set), Time Warner then advises that, in order to receive these stations, one must purchase or lease a "digital adapter" and one must subscribe to their (costly) monthly cable service. This violates the FCC edict that; "If you view television over-the-air through the use of an antenna, cable system encryption will not impact you in any way." Time Warner now brazenly operates as if they own the public airwaves. We Must put a stop to their unlawful practices.60 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Brian Kuhn

UPPER LAKE BANK CUSTOMERS PROTEST CLOSURE!The County of Lake invested mega-millions of "Redevelopment" money (our property taxes, mind you) in these struggling communities, including over $2M in Upper Lake alone, where private investment has matched and surpassed the publicly-funded investment in community thrivance. Civic pride and public service are emblematic of our town's hospitality to all Northshore businesses, residents, and visitors. > > This petition is addressed to WestAmerica's Banking Division Manager [POBox 1230, A-21A, Fairfield CA 94534], as well as to Lake County District 3 Supervisor Jim Steele ([email protected]) to support the County's equally dismayed response (Board of Supervisors, February 3, 2015) and that of the Greater Lake County Chamber of Commerce. THIS IS BAD BUSINESS FOR EVERYONE!165 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Sara Sanchez

Support AB150 & AB225 (Melendez)These two bills address the shortsightedness that plagues Sacramento politics regarding AB 1014 and Prop 47. Protect the Houseless from Unconstitutional Selective Enforcement of Criminalization OrdinancesLET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD! As the executive director of the Pacific Alliance to Stop Slavery, I have become incredibly concerned with the City's "Compassionate Disruption" campaign against houseless families with children in Honolulu. The vast majority of houseless in Hawaii are local families with young children-- 'ohana struggling to make ends meet. I have seen young children, adults, and kupuna whose rights are violated every time a so-called "city enforcement" of the poor executes the unconstitutional confiscation and disposal of all property belonging to the houseless who are relegated to living on certain sidewalks in a dwindling number of districts. Most all other public spaces are not legal for the houseless to rest. This is the epitome of injustice and it must end. There are currently nearly 400 houseless families with children and other houseless individuals living in the Kakaako area alone. They cannot fit into shelter, they would max out the capacity for the proposed sand island encampment, and public housing is not an option with its 10-year waiting list. Compassionate Disruption, Sit-Lie, and other City Ordinances selectively enforced upon the houseless neither work nor are they just. Please support the measures seeking to protect the Houseless in Hawaii so that we may work with this population to get them out of poverty with true compassion. Don't Spend More on AUMF & Endless WarPresident Obama sent language to Congress on Wednesday seeking an Authorization of Use of Military Force (AUMF) for military action against ISIS, which seeks Congressional approval for war in the Middle East for the next three years. National Priorities Project, a non-partisan and non-profit research group that tracks federal and military spending, urges Congress to evaluate carefully the very real financial and human costs of continued conflict in the Middle East, for the following reasons: Our nation has been engaged in military action against ISIS since June 2014, at the cost of $312,500 per hour to American taxpayers. In just the past eight months, we have spent more than $1.8 billion on military force in the Middle East, without Congressional authority or full debate by lawmakers about the costs of continued war in the region. We are concerned about the implications for American taxpayers and our federal budget if the United States engages in renewed and expanded military action in the Middle East. Over the last 14 years, our nation has spent more than $1.6 trillion on war in Iraq and Afghanistan – plus countless more in the human cost and long-term investment necessary to care for veterans who return from a grueling conflict. With our federal budget still burdened by these seemingly endless wars, and many pressing social and economic needs at home, now is not the time to sink trillions more into an endless war overseas, especially when polling shows Americans would like to invest in domestic priorities. While the proposed AUMF is limited to three years of military action, it leaves in place the broad and open-ended 2001 AUMF that authorized the use of force in Afghanistan, and under the president has justified current action against ISIS. This raises the question of whether the new AUMF in fact leaves open a very real possibility of a new open-ended war, with a price tag to match. Ultimately, American taxpayers deserve to know whether ongoing and increased investment in war will actually reduce the threat of terrorism against our country. With compelling evidence that each round of war fuels subsequent wars and terrorist outbursts, there lie deeper questions about whether the trillions of dollars spent on military force only serve to foment more unrest. Lawmakers must carefully consider not only short-term action, but also longer-term consequences before prioritizing military action over other means of influence toward peace and security. As Congress debates the president’s proposed AUMF, the American people must also weigh in on the continued financial and human costs of war. Tell Congress: Negotiations about a new AUMF must include evaluation of the cost of war.850 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by National Priorities Project

Funding for Gliomatosis cerebriThis petition is personal; our son Christopher was diagnosed with Gliomatosis cerebri. Finding a cure is crucial for this deadly cancer. Our "new normal" life has taught us very disturbing facts about government funding for our children. Did you know only 4% of the government's budget is allotted to pediatric cancer? Funding for rare Gliomatosis cerebri is crucial. This is NOT OKAY! We will not sit back and wait and watch our son become another statistic. We have lost too many children to this horrific disease. Please help us spread awareness and ask our public officials to help give our children a fighting chance. We need research money. The petition will take 2 minutes of your time. We thank you for all your love and support I this extremely important matter. Thank you!290 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Maria Gratton

Represent Voters, not donorsThe Arizona legislature is attacking the voter-approved Clean Elections Act, our strongest anti-corruption tool that helps voters reclaim government of, by and for the people. The same big money-backed lawmakers are passing bills that make it harder to vote and attack our courts. Please sign our petition to Andy Biggs, President of the Arizona Senate and David Gowan, Speaker of the Arizona House asking them to support legislation that strengthens Clean Elections, Voting Rights and Fair Courts.300 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Arizona Advocacy Network

Gov. Rauner: Put working people over rich corporationsIn Gov. Bruce Rauner’s State of the State address, he laid out a platform that would strip the rights of Illinoisans and benefit the richest 1% of Americans, like himself. We need to make sure that our elected leaders put the rights of working people ahead of the wants of the richest 1%. Send a message to Gov. Rauner now.69 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kevin Pape
