Rick Scott - Pardon Marissa AlexanderMarissa Alexander was a victim of DV. Her husband beat her while she was pregnant. "After yet another beating, Alexander fired a warning shot, which traveled through a wall and into the ceiling. That shot saved her life. Prosecutor Angela Corey did not take into account that Marissa Alexander: Had a court injunction against her crazed husband; Had Given Birth 9 Days Earlier; Was trained to use a weapon and earned a concealed weapons permit." - http://justiceformarissa.blogspot.com/ She now has 2 years of home arrest, where she can pursue higher education and can leave for certain things such as picking up and dropping of her child, etc. But, she will still have a felony on her record, which will prevent her from voting, getting student aid for school, and could keep her from being hired, among other things. We are asking Gov. Rick Scott to please pardon her so she can have a completely free life ahead of her to pursue anything she wishes.117 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Brandi E Hudson

Reinstate My Home I & II Down Payment ProgramsThe My Home Program made the dream of ownership a reality for many families. Without this program many low and moderate income families will not be able to afford suitable housing. The insensitivity of county officials towards the plight of homebuyers was demonstrated by the manner in which the program was cut without advance warning. Hundreds of ratified contracts were voided resulting in the loss of upfront monies that had been spent on inspections and appraisals. Transitioning to Triple Play was not an option as the dollar amount offered by that program could not qualify the borrower for the home specified in their contract. Typical among those affected were single parent mothers with large families. This is a concern worth immediate attention. Reinstating the program is the only way to preserve the hope of home ownership for many and to prevent the monetary cost cancelled contracts.157 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Kia Coppedge

Recall Sam BrownbackThe shining economic experiment that Brownback sold the citizens of Kansas has failed miserably, but he refuses to admit it. His real goal is to dismantle the government as we know it, and to that end he has gutted the state treasury, public schools, hospitals and other public services and institutions. Kansans overwhelmingly want good schools, good roads, and a government that is fiscally healthy and takes care of its obligations to all its citizens. While this is NOT an official recall petition (which cannot be collected electronically), it IS a way for citizens of Kansas to declare that Governor Brownback’s policies are killing Kansas and must be stopped. We ask ALL Kansas Legislators to join with us to re-shape and re-work Governor Brownback’s proposals. GOVERNOR BROWNBACK, WE ARE PETITIONING YOU TO: • Fully fund public education as ordered by the courts. • Honor the state's commitment to its pension and highway funds. • Respect the state’s obligations to ALL citizens of Kansas, regardless of income level, orientation, gender or race.42,273 of 45,000 SignaturesCreated by Tony Piazza

New Mexico School Bus Drivers Missing their 3% Salary IncreaseMany New Mexico school bus drivers work for companies that contract with school districts throughout the state. This past year, our Senate passed SB-313 which appropriated funding for all (school) transportation employee's to receive a 3% salary increase (on average). This can be found on page 192, which specifically addresses employee's of contracting companies. I along with over 200 school bus drivers and support staff, (many more throughout the state) have not received any salary increase.17 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Marcos Torres

Ban Fracking In Florida: Support SB 166Florida's delicate ecology and vast underground aquifer system are in danger from oil and gas fracking. We’re at an important moment in the debate over this critical issue: Sens. Darren Soto (D-Orlando) and Dwight Bullard (D-Miami) have introduced SB 166, a statewide ban on this dangerous threat to our water, our environment, and the health of our communities. Sign the petition urging Florida legislators to support SB 166 and finally remove the threat of fracking from endangering the Florida we love.577 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Ray Seaman, Progress Florida

Support BIG Investment in Infastructure JobsThe Progressive Change Institute asked voters whether they support a massive infrastructure program that would create millions of jobs. It was popular by 71% to 18% -- a bipartisan landslide. The public wants big action! Now, Senator Bernie Sanders is proposing a huge, $1 trillion infrastructure program -- which would create jobs repairing crumbling bridges and roads, expanding high-speed Internet, and increasing access to clean energy. PLEASE vote for supporting BIG investment in infastructure now!44 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Debra Mahony

Tell the Obama Administration to Prosecute Endangered Species KillersA little known and decades old Department of Justice policy is protecting the killers of endangered grizzly bears, whooping cranes, California condors and wolves. The so-called "McKittrick Policy" was enacted after a Montana man gunned down a wolf and later claimed he had thought he was firing on a dog. He was prosecuted, though the Department of Justice (DOJ) later decided to accept his self-exoneration by claimed ignorance and has clung to that policy of inaction for years. Endangered species need to be protected from hunters that can simply claim they did not know what they were shooting at. Tell President Obama and Attorney General Loretta Lynch to drop the McKittrick Policy and treat the killing of endangered species like the crime that it is.17,419 of 20,000 SignaturesCreated by Endangered Species Coalition
