"At the MERCY of US Consulate General in Guayaquil, Ecuador: I Buried My Niece Without Her Father! The wrenching pain immigrant families feel every single day becomes an agonizing reality during the Holiday Season! As many families around the world are celebrating Christmas and the start of a New Year, immigrant families continue to face the UNJUST, CRUEL, INHUMANE LAWS that simply amount to a LIFE SENTENCE FOR IMMIGRANT FAMILIES! US Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez has supported our family's plea since the onset of the news of my niece's passing. We have asked for another interview and hope that the Embassy in Guayaquil, Ecuador upholds our family's request - and grants my brother's right to see his daughter and visit his youngest daughter's grave. I have requested Senator Schumer and President Obama's help to finally grant this emergency visa. Growing up in New York City's Lower East Side during the 1970's and 1980's was not easy. Our family, like many other immigrant families, faced many hardships. The drug infestation in our streets was rampant. My brother Peter at his young age fell with the wrong crowd. He served two years for selling $10.00 worth of drugs. But as we prepared to welcome him home, he was picked up by US immigration officers. The lawyer immigration supplied him with told him to sign a voluntary deportation to Ecuador. He was told that if he signed "voluntarily" he would be able to ask for a pardon to come back to the United States. I was only 18 years old then, and remember telling Peter not to sign. I also remember Peter's words to me, "Isabel, if you were to see this place where they have me, you would sign just to get out." He was talking about the inhumane facility and treatment of immigrants in the detention centers where they were being held in New York City. Over the years - 25 years to be exact - this lawyer's advise was not true and my brother's petition to return has not been granted. He has endured so much at the hands of a system that continues to punish him - a system that told him that he would be given another opportunity to return - but has not! When my brother signed under intense duress and false legal advise, he was really signing A LIFE SENTENCE WITHOUT A CHANCE FOR PAROLE. We want the emergency visa to be granted. However, we also continue to plead with this same system to help right the wrong that was done and finally grant my brother a pardon. Every year my mother asks me about bringing Peter home. I tell her it's not as easy because of the Immigration Laws. Over the years she watches the news and tells me that she believes someday the laws will change, "Just you wait and see, Isabel, the laws will change and then we can bring Peter home." I'm still waiting for this day, and I hope my parents Pedro and Rosa Reyna, US citizens (now 82 and 78 years old) are still alive to see their prayers answered! On December 15th, we asked for the support of Senator Schumer and President Obama to join US Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez and help our family bring my brother Peter home. By signing this petition, you join and give VOICE to millions of families: mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, sisters and brothers, that go to sleep every night with one plea; we can call it a mother's plea: "A change in Immigration Laws. " The time has come for Real Immigration Reform that puts an end to families being torn apart. The tears of children devastated by these laws are real; our children's tears. This Holiday season should be one of joy and happiness, not tears of families being torn apart due to cruel laws. This is a chance for families like mine that deserve a second chance - and to right the wrongs caused by inhumane immigration laws that place everyone under one category; laws that deny so many in our country the right to LIFE, LIBERTY, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS! THANK YOU FOR JOINING US AND STANDING WITH OUR FAMILY DURING THIS TIME!136 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Isabel Reyna Torres

Tell Animal Planet to pull the Yukon Men episode "Wolf Invasion"!Animal Planet is acting in total disregard to the health and welfare of the gray wolf by airing a "Yukon Men" episode titled "Wolf Invasion" which perpetuates the myth that wolves are dangerous to humans. This is simply untrue, as wolves are extremely wary of humans and try at all costs to avoid contact with humans. We as a whole should be reimbursed for school uniforms and etc. We as the parents need to be heard. Our children are devastated and upset from the news of this school closing. Help Americans become familiar with the Metric SystemAmerican children do very poorly in science classes because the only time they are required to see metric units being used is in school. That puts them at a disadvantage compared to children who grow up in metric countries. Also US industry can only sell inch-pound labeled merchandise to four percent of the world's population. By using metric units, they vastly increase the number of their potential customers.66 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mark Henschel

Ensure Justice For Christopher Rossing 2015!!Christopher Rossing was brutally beaten and taken against his will on the early morning hours of August 23, after bars closed Friday August 22, 2014 in Howard Lake, MN. His family and volunteers searched for Christopher for nearly two months, and on October 11, 2014, charred human remains were found spread out in a corn field directly across from the accused kidnapper's property. Authorities were notified and a further search of the accused property by the sheriff's office revealed more severely charred human remains and teeth in their fire pit. We the family and the public have significant concerns if persons such as this are able to roam our streets with not one but several prior violent assault charges still open and past domestic assault charges including domestic assault misdemeanor charges on two minors. We want justice in this murder, and are asking our state elected officials to ensure that the Wright County authorities and the BCA to have all available resources and available manpower to help assist in any way possible to ensure that all DNA evidence is processed as submitted as evidence in the case of kidnapping as well as the highest degree of murder charges are brought against this violent repeat offender and the accused co-offender Gwen Butcher so no other person or family can be harmed or victimized by these repeat criminals. We are desperately seeking Justice for Christopher Rossing, who lost his life tragically at just 25 years old. Help us ensure justice in the murder and cover-up of the murder in the case of Christopher Rossing. JUSTICE FOR CHRISTOPHER 20152,008 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Deanna Villella

Apache JusticeThe Feeling of Lost ,the Indignation and of Alienation is still Widespread among the Apache Nation. It is Clear that there is still no adequate action was taken to overcome the oppression. Trying to always To withdraw Apache Land is a deep painful critical and political point. Save guarding of rights from Native Nation of their Land is crucial importance for the native social economic development. Self-determination and cultural integrity. The remain Land is still in the Apache Control t does not occur. The Native are being meadow on the Government. The plan to create the Native American by the ideal perception of the government, is still current. It create a suspect that mixing between white and native is aimed at a unitary nation. The Protection of Indigenous Peoples is now Required. The reality theory of Native American history was not associated with intentionally in the curriculum of schools. Many People fail in a emotional shocking and am ashamed after there get familiar with reality truth of native Nation History. Exactly this kind of history awakening the Government want to prevent. The white People stand in this time period on the side from the native american and not armed in front of them. Up to this date there we're no apologize for the slaughtering or inhuman treatment..Since a hundred Years one inhuman treatment follow the next. The Native American are just busy political construction sites to close. Actual #saveapacheland .This is just one problem .of many. All lot of other native American nation have similar site. That must come to an end.. All sacred land of the Apaches are not allowed to be sold.Includes the Apache Ceremony Land and must be returned to the owner. The purchase agreement made in the 1800 -1900 century is invalid. The prescribed legally purchase and sale treatment was not implemented. I base myself in this case, the laws of the country who have taken possession of the land of the Apaches. The money was not paid and the contract binding agreement was also recognized in any way. Thus, the sacred lands legally still belong to the Apaches.76 of 100 Signatures

Appoint a Special Counsel to investigate torture crimesFrom Marjorie Cohn, writing in Truthout: Reading the 499-page torture report just released by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence was a disgusting experience. Even after many years of writing books and articles about the Bush torture policy, I was unprepared for the atrocious pattern of crimes our government committed against other human beings in our name. One of the most hideous techniques the CIA plied on detainees was called "rectal rehydration" or "rectal feeding" without medical necessity - a sanitized description of rape by a foreign object. A concoction of pureed "hummus, pasta with sauce, nuts and raisins" was forced into the rectum of one detainee. Another was subjected to "rectal rehydration" to establish the interrogator's "total control over the detainee." This constitutes illegal, cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment and a humiliating outrage upon personal dignity. Several detainees were waterboarded, a technique whereby water is poured into the nose and mouth to cause the victim to think he's drowning. One detainee in CIA custody was tortured on the waterboard 183 times; another was waterboarded 83 times. Waterboarding has long been considered torture, which is a war crime. Indeed, the United States hung Japanese military leaders for the war crime of torture after World War II. Other "enhanced interrogation techniques" (EIT) included being slammed into walls, hung from the ceiling, kept in total darkness, deprived of sleep - sometimes with forced standing - for up to seven and one-half days, forced to stand on broken limbs for hours on end, threatened with mock execution, confined in a coffin-like box for 11 days, bathed in ice water, dressed in diapers. One detainee "literally looked like a dog that had been kenneled." The executive summary of the torture report was made public, but the 6,700-page report remains classified. The summary depicts the CIA at best, as keystone cops, at worst, as pathological, lying, sadistic war criminals. The CIA lied repeatedly about the effectiveness of the torture and cruel treatment. Interrogations of detainees were much more brutal than the CIA represented to government officials and the American public. Bush's CIA directors George Tenet, Porter Goss and Michael Hayden should be charged with crimes, along with their minions who carried out the torture. In light of the gruesome revelations in the torture report, it is high time President Barack Obama fulfilled his constitutional duty to enforce the law. The US Constitution states the president "shall take care that the laws are faithfully executed." Yet Obama refuses to sanction prosecutions of those responsible for the torture. When the United States ratified the Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, and the Geneva Conventions, we promised to prosecute or extradite those who commit or are complicit in the commission of torture. The report documents torture and cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment, all of which violate US and international law. The War Crimes Act punishes torture as a war crime. The Torture Statute (Statute) provides that whoever "outside the United States" commits or attempts to commit torture shall be imprisoned for not more than 20 years "and if death results to any person from conduct prohibited by this subsection, shall be punished by death or imprisoned for any term of years or for life." The statute defines torture as an "act intended to inflict severe physical or mental pain or suffering upon another person within his custody or physical control." When the United States ratified the Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, and the Geneva Conventions, we promised to prosecute or extradite those who commit or are complicit in the commission of torture. A ratified treaty is part of US law under the Constitution's Supremacy Clause. Yet the Obama administration persists in its refusal to bring the culprits to justice.894 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Michael Morrill

Selective enforcement of Michigan ConstitutionThe Detroit Active and Retired Employees Association (www.GOFUNDME.COM/PENSIONDEFENSEFUND) implores the U.S. Justice Dept, as soon as possible, to halt any and all pending alterations to retirement plans and to halt further transfers of wealth from the City of Detroit until an Open Civil Investigation has been conducted. Our civil liberties were violated by the State because the Michigan Constitution is contractually obligated to protect pensions. We request an independent, neutral voice of authority to sustain civil liberties versus restraining domination, and to ensure that the actions of the bankruptcy were legal, boundaries were not overstepped, and that rules and laws were followed to the spirit and the letter and not by whimsical interpretations. Save the Church of St. Martin de DauzatsWe live next door to this charming 150-year-old church in southwestern France and don't wish to see it lost forever as a piece of French "patrimoine"--the cultural and spiritual heritage of the south Tarn. Deconsecrated now, it could serve as a salle des expositions--exhibition space--or meeting hall. The Town Hall government is currently intending to see it off for transformation into a private home.604 of 800 Signatures
