Due to financial hardships, the Board of Directors of the New Netherlands Museum has decided to move the Half Moon replica ship to the Dutch city of Hoorn in 2015. A week before two NYPD officers were executed, Philly Medic Marcell Salters made national news for posting an Instagram picture of two black men pointing guns at a white police officer with the caption "Our real enemy." He followed with another comment: "need 2 stop pointing guns at each other & at the ones that's legally killing innocents." Additionally he took to facebook posting the following comments: "Because of what i do i have to work with them but dont have to like them," he said. ". . . There are numerous crooked & corrupted cops (mostly white) & mostly they harass, beat, or kill innocents(mostly blks)." Philly doesn't need or want racist Medics and we want him fired!

There has been a execution style murder of two NYPD Officers in Brooklyn, N.Y. At this time HHC Police Officers have no means to properly protect themselves and people in HHC facilities. Police Officers should have the right to carry firearms regardless of their race. At this time the Health & Hospitals Corporation, by denying their Police Officers the right to carry firearms is in violation of title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

We need to restore, respect, integrity, honestly, loyalty, and set an example by having leaders that lead, have vision and set examples by following the laws they create. No one is above the law.

The calls for Mayor de Blasio's resignation are dangerously misguided. His resignation would send us headlong down the wrong path. de Balsio is right to embrace the public's call for reform. Demonizing the public's call for reform will only lead to an entrenchment of the problems causing unrest and an escalation of hostility between police and civilians,

The Valley Hospital’s policy to allow religious imagery for Hanukkah but to forbid the religious imagery for Christmas is inconsistent and insensitive. Both Hanukkah and Christmas are distinctly religious holidays replete with their own rich history of religious imagery. To reduce Hanukkah and Christmas to mere secular symbolic reminders is disrespectful to those who celebrate each. Hanukkah is a Jewish celebration of the preservation of Judaism during a time of forced religious assimilation. It is a celebration of the miracle of light in the midst of darkness. Christmas is the distinctly Christian celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. It is the celebration of God born as a child in the city of Bethlehem as written in Holy Scripture. The Valley Hospital has determined that Christmas is accurately represented with a decorated tree, wreathes and poinsettias. These secular symbols do not remind us of the birth of a person, Jesus Christ. Depictions of this holy event, such as nativity scenes and other Christian imagery, are not authorized by the Valley Hospital. On the other hand, Hanukkah is accurately represented at the Valley Hospital with a purely religious motif, the Hanukiah or Hanukkah Menorah. Why is it that Christians cannot also observe their holiday according to Holy Scripture while at the Valley Hospital? It is our wish that the Valley Hospital give equal representation to all of the faiths in our community. While we welcome Jewish religious symbolism at the hospital, the clear omission of Christian imagery is insensitive. The decorations for Christmas and Hanukkah in public spaces at the Valley Hospital should be faithful to the religions they represent. To emphasize one faith tradition by accurately representing it, while minimizing another by turning it into a secular cultural holiday is an injustice to all people of faith. We ask that the Valley Hospital, its administration, its trustees and staff permit the display of Christian religious imagery depicting the Nativity of Christ, which Christians celebrate on Christmas. In Santa Cruz County, California, many people are refused their prescribed medication when they go to Santa Cruz County Jail. The prescribed medication that they take regularly, under the direction of their doctor. It can be very dangerous and even life threatening, to be suddenly cut off of a prescribed medication, especially when it is against the advice and direction of the doctor who knows them and prescribed the medication! But this hasn't stopped the medical director at this jail, Dr. Terry B. Lapid, from behaving so recklessly... This is why I'm hoping this petition might bring change to how things are done when it comes to inmates receiving their important, prescription medications... I know firsthand how dangerous this can be, because my boyfriend recently went to jail. He is prescribed methadone. When he got to the jail, they were very eager to take a urine sample. After many attempts to find out what they wanted the sample for, he found out... They told him that if he tested dirty for ANYTHING else, he would not be given his prescribed medication. That includes testing "dirty" for marijuana, alcohol, or any other prescription medications that he couldn't show proof of having at the time, etc... ANYTHING ELSE!! My boyfriend smokes pot, and had a prescription for it, but it expired a few months previously. This meant he was cut off, suddenly, from methadone, which is a very important medication for some people to take! It causes complete chaos, cutting someone off of a medication like that suddenly! And not only that, but his doctor who prescribes him methadone wanted him to continue taking it! Dr. Lapid went against his doctors advice, and had complete disregard for my boyfriend's wellbeing, health and LIFE! People's lives are NOT a game to be played with! Like my boyfriend, many people in jail are waiting for their guilt or innocence to be determined in court. So this means that someone who may not even be guilty of a crime, are having their lives thrown into upheaval, being denied their prescription medication, for no reason! They are being punished for nothing! It is NOT justice, it is completely unethical and recklace for Dr. Lapid to ignore the advice and direction of a person's regular doctor. These are people's LIVES! If Dr. Lapid refuses to give EVERYONE their prescribed medication, when the prescribing doctor is advising that they continue taking it, he needs to lose his job, and be replaced with someone who can do the job properly.

Anybody who knows the past of Al Sharpton should be concerned that he has become the go-to guy in matters dealing with race. Al Sharpton does nothing but divide this country and is of no benefit to President Obama. He is a self-appointed civil rights leader who only cares when the aggrieved are black. He does not show up protesting the police when the mentally disabled or mentally ill are the victims. He is a fraud who also evades paying his taxes while living a lavish lifestyle. Perception is reality and none of this benefits the President. There is a reason Al Sharpton has been called a racial arsonist. He poisons the atmosphere. Sharpton falsely accused a man of rape. Sharpton became famous by championing the cause of a black teenager named Tawana Brawley, who, it turned out, lied when she claimed that she'd been abducted and sexually assaulted by whites. A grand jury found that Tawana Brawley fabricated the whole thing. Sharpton not only refused to apologize, he dared white Asst. A.D. Pagones to sue him for defamation. Pagones obliged. A jury unanimously found Sharpton liable, and Pagones' lawyer spent years trying to get Sharpton to pay the judgment. To this day, Sharpton refuses to apologize to Pagones, who said he received death threats. Tawana Brawley had by 2013 only paid 1% of what she owed in punishment for the defamation. There is a FBI surveillance video of Sharpton arranging a cocaine/money laundering deal with a mobster-turned-informant. Nothing about Sharpton calling the first black mayor of New York a "n**er whore." Sharpton was a paid pitchman for LoanMax, a "predatory lender" that could not legally operate in New York. Crown Heights tells us everything one needs to know about Sharpton. A 7-year-old black child was accidentally struck and killed by a car driven by a Hasidic Jew in that section of Brooklyn, N.Y. It sparked three days of riots, resulting in a hundred people injured and the stabbing death of a young Jewish scholar, who was surrounded by a mob chanting, "Kill the Jew." Sharpton fanned the flames, leading some 400 protesters through a Jewish section of Crown Heights. Al Sharpton later said, "If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house." He also defended the lying Duke Lacrosse accuser (and now murderer) with "There is a lot of racism that's in the air." There are more examples but this is a petition and not a book.
