Congress: No “lame duck” war with IranWithin days of being projected the election’s loser, Trump is ALREADY setting the stage for a terrifying possibility of his last few weeks in office: war with Iran. Trump has fired Defense Secretary Mark Esper — who was on the record as not wanting war with Iran — by tweet, and has replaced a SLATE of senior defense officials with conspiracy-peddling loyalists. That's not all. Trump has dispatched his Iran envoy Elliot “convicted of lying to Congress” Abrams to Israel and Saudi Arabia “for consultations on Iran,” AND reports broke Trump’s planning a FLOOD of additional sanctions — adding new measures week over week until January 20 — escalating tensions to provoke a reaction from the Iranian government. Congress has the unequivocal power to make and STOP war. But — and this is key — we have to ensure Congress is not caught off guard by the so-called lame duck period and immediately acts before any conflict spirals dangerously out of control. Add your name now to help us raise the alarm and get ready to block ANY last-ditch attempt by the Trump administration to drag us into war with Iran.167 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Win Without War

Bring back asynchronous WednesdaysAs high school students, we are introduced to many things in school that we can easily get accustomed to. Asynchronous Wednesdays were established at the beginning of the school year where we can catch up on work, makeup assignments, and study independently. As COVID-19 erupted, every student had to completely switch their learning style into virtual because of it and with the bearing struggles of seeing the world around you shut down while neighbors, friends, and family getting sick it only makes a person’s mental state suffer. Sitting in front of a camera and trying to understand the specific subject without the teacher being able to come to you one-on-one is extremely difficult. Therefore we already had to change a vast part of our education. As many students have their personal lives a lot of students do not feel comfortable doing independent work on camera which simply emphasizes how much these Wednesdays mean to the student body. These Wednesday’s felt like a day where we, students can look over our work and fully understand what our teachers taught us those previous days. Going into a fully remote school, asynchronous Wednesdays were already in place where students got used to having that one day in the week where we can slow down and comprehend each subject. Although, if these days are taken away it will put students in another difficult situation where they are going to have to adjust their learning style once again. Virtual learning is already difficult enough for teachers and students and taking these away will only make it worse. Ergo, our education is vital to us, and making changes right now will not steer us in the right direction and all we ask is if Manchester’s Board of Education will reconsider their decision on this.217 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Eileen Jaquez

Chicago 2021 BudgetIt is the duty of our elected officials to bring a visionary response that is compassionate and bold and that addresses long-term inequities. For months, Chicagoans have participated in demonstrations which aimed to make our wishes abundantly clear. We demand a reimagining of public safety, which prioritizes holistic services and programs that address both the immediate and the long-term needs of the community, rather than continuing to pour our tax dollars into the Chicago Police Department. Second, the economic hardships residents face are as varied and diverse as our city. Our City Council must protect public sector jobs, address the needs of our housing insecure and homeless residents, increase investment in equity, and avoid property tax increases. Finally, City Council must continue to pursue and develop progressive revenue sources that will be vital to accomplish all of the above. I stand in solidarity with other Chicagoans and the Chicago Progressive Caucus which aims to address the needs of the 2021 Budget through bold measures which will help, not hurt, our communities.69 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Liz Evans

Keep Greg Rd. Open to the PublicThis is a widely used community road that adjoins Bear Creek and Resort township residents within Emmet County and allows for greater access for locals and out of town tourists mainly for ORV and ATV access. Keeping this county road open allows for easier access for said vehicles and will keep more public, paved roads safer with the ORV’s and ATV’s access to an unpaved county road.235 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Buddy Gray

Stop Trump’s last ditch arms sale to the UAERight now, Trump is trying to ram through a massive last minute sale of $23.37 BILLION in weapons to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) — the same bombs that they and Saudi Arabia use to murder Yemeni civilians and exacerbate a humanitarian crisis — and the time for us STOP the sale is already running out. Trump is still in the White House until January 20, 2021. And between now and Inauguration Day, untold damage can be unleashed, including weapons sales like this one. But we have a CRITICAL, narrow window to stop this sale: by law, Congress has 30 days to intervene and block the sale. The clock is ticking, but luckily, we’ve done this before, and there’s no doubt that together, we can get loud enough so that (once again) Congress listens. Sign now to tell Congress: End U.S. complicity in Yemen, stop Trump’s arm sale to the UAE.560 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Win Without War

Prevent a coup d'etat in the Electoral CollegeDespite a decisive win by Biden and Harris, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is promising that Trump will serve another term. This threat to our democracy needs to be taken seriously. How could a second term for Trump be achieved? Recounts and lawsuits won’t change the results. The only real path is to discredit state elections in order to justify rejecting electors so that Trump will have a majority in the Electoral College. It seems far-fetched, but so was a Trump presidency in the first place. This threat cannot be ignored. We cannot trust that precedent, civility and law will rule the day. The plan to steal the presidency seems to be proceeding, with both Senators from Georgia baselessly declaring their states election to be invalid. Will this libel give Mike Pence, as President of the Senate, the cover he will need to simply reject Georgia's electors? If so, why not Pennsylvania as well and so on? So much seems to ultimately hinge on the Electoral Count Act, which according to wikipedia "invites misinterpretation" and whose "central provisions of the law have not been seriously tested in a disputed election". I urge you to take steps to prevent what is clearly an attempted coup. Insist that all electors must be counted, and faithless electors will not be tolerated.79 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Scott Schafer

TELL JOE BIDEN: Cancel Student Debt by Executive ActionCOVID-19 has made crushing student debt exponentially worse for Americans -- Over 45 million people have student loan debt and many are struggling to get by during the pandemic. Canceling student debt would ensure that families can afford food, supplies, and medications if they face layoffs or smaller paychecks because of the pandemic. This is a matter of economic survival for millions of people. Student debt threatens the economic security of the entire country -- Before the COVID-19 pandemic, America’s $1.6 trillion student debt total was a major drag on the economy. Now, a pandemic-induced recession and record levels of unemployment are making the problem worse. Debt cancellation would stimulate the economy by boosting GDP by up to $108 billion a year and adding up to 1.5 million jobs per year. Research shows that student debt cancellation will help address inequities and reduce the wealth gap -- Black and brown communities carry a disproportionate student debt burden and are also facing the brunt of the impact of the pandemic. People of color carry more student loan debt, they face higher rates of lost hours and layoffs, and persistent systemic barriers have resulted in racial inequities in incomes and wealth. The pandemic has also caused a disproportionate number of women, and especially Latinx women, to leave the workforce. There is growing energy and bipartisan public support to enact student debt cancellation -- A recent poll showed a majority of voters support canceling student debt during the pandemic. It also found strong support from Democrats and Republicans. On top of that, over 1.3 million Student Debt Crisis supporters already signed a petition to cancel student debt to boost the economy in response to the COVID-19 pandemic since March. Joe Biden campaigned on student debt cancellation, but gridlock in Congress will make it difficult -- The Biden administration must do all that it can to keep that promise. In a recent resolution, Senators Chuck Schumer and Elizabeth Warren made clear that the president has the legal authority to direct the Secretary of Education to cancel student debt based on powers outlined in the Higher Education Act. Since the president has the power to cancel these debts, we urge Joe Biden to use executive action to cancel student debt.177,480 of 200,000 SignaturesCreated by Natalia Abrams

Michigan Senators: The election is over. Stop undermining the results. The election is over. Joe Biden is our President-elect and Kamala Harris is our Vice President-elect. We know the work isn’t over and our fight to build a better Michigan will continue well beyond this election. But despite votes being finalized in Michigan, there are some legislators that are attempting to undermine our election. Will you join us in urging the Senate Oversight Committee respect the decision of Michigan voters? Just over the weekend, the Oversight Committee held a hearing to try to prolong the process. Elected officials need to hear from us directly about how important it is to respect the democratic process. The votes have been counted fairly and according to the law. The decision of the people needs to be respected.572 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Art Reyes

Demand GSA administrator Emily Murphy recognize President-elect Joe BidenIt is important she recognize President-elect Biden for these reasons: 1. She is hindering a peaceful transition until Trump exhausts all legal recourse, which means the transition team pretty much can only get an office to plan the transition and not much else. 2. Her refusal to recognize president-elect Biden has National Security implications because the Department of Defense cannot work with the transition team until the GSA recognizes the results of the election. 3.Her refusal to follow the Presidential Transition Act of 1963 is a clear refutation of the democratic process and severely undermines confidence in free and fair elections in this country.254,172 of 300,000 SignaturesCreated by Diane Yoder
