We still live in a society where blacks can't even get help because we are seen as "dangerous" After the Zimmerman case, it's now okay to shoot a black person and claim self defense. Renisha deserves justice!

Our Congress is acting like a warmonger and not allowing diplomacy to fix U.S./Iran relationship. The U.S. needs to stop settling things with wars. The Afghanistan and Iraq wars have left our country economically devastated, and the countries of Afghanistan and Iraq completely devastated. Obviously, war was the wrong choice for our dead soldiers and the people of Afghanistan and Iraq.

We watch many news programs like the Rachel Maddow Show and others on MSNBC. We feel they do not cover as much information as is needed to keep the public informed and educated because of other less progressive programming elsewhere. More time slots are needed for people with busy lives to view these other progressive shows.

The management of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear site demands a team of the world's best scientists and engineers, and sufficient financial resources to attempt to handle the situation. We are concerned that Tokyo Electric Power Company is not best suited for removing the hot fuel rods from Fukushima Unit Four or doing what needs to be done the site as a whole.

The block on which this parcel sits consists of lot sizes no less than approximately one-third of an acre (with corner lots typically larger). Subdivision of this lot will be a detriment to all residents as the construction of two houses on smaller lots will not be in architectural harmony with the surrounding homes. Two structures crammed onto this one lot will be an eyesore that can never be removed if approval is granted. Manhasset Woods Road is a thoroughfare which most Munsey Park residents travel to get to Northern Boulevard or Park Avenue. Fatal floods have killed thousands of people and destroyed thousands of homes in the Philippines over the past 5 years. My family back home in the Philippines have been directly affected (Typhoon Ondoy), with my grandmother's home being destroyed, leaving her and the rest of my family with barely shelter and food from the aftermath of the flood. There is little to prepare when a disastrous flood occurs, than to seek indestructible shelter, which is what the Philippines lacks. Lend a hand and help create and build a flood-free Philippines.

Ms. Elsie was a delight to have on campus. This was more than a job for her, she took pride in her work and cared for the students in a way that few housekeepers on campus do. She greeted students and asked about their day, actually caring to listen to the answer. She always made sure students had the supplies they needed. We ask that her status at the college be reconsidered for reasons stated above. Furthermore, because she was fired “with cause” we worry about the effect on her future in terms of employment opportunities and/or unemployment compensation. Because she was such a great worker, and person, we care as students of St. Mary's College of Maryland about her well being the same way she cared for ours.

I am starting this petition because the laws of CT no longer hold marijuana possession as a crime. Yet, Ceschi was still sent away. The whole process of his arrest, to the coached confession, to the way his case was handled is infuriating. This man should not be in prison. That is why I have started this petition.

Superintendent Andy Craig told the Hoover Board of Education that eliminating buses for students will save $2.5 million each year. He said eliminating buses would allow that $2.5 million to be redirected to the classroom to preserve educational quality. Eliminating buses won’t save $2.5 million a year. The FY13 (“fiscal year 2013″, the period from October 1, 2012, to September 30, 2013) budget was the first time that local funding for student transportation topped $2 million. Ever. No school official has given any good reason, backed up with numbers and a clear explanation, as to why so much local money is spent on transportation. Other nearby school districts have many more buses and manage to run them without the strain on local funds while maintaining high student achievement. No hard numbers have been produced showing actual cost savings from eliminating buses. No one has attempted to prove that savings will approach anywhere near $2.5 million. Buses have been running in Hoover, Alabama for almost 25 years. The loss of the buses will hurt children, adults and property values in our city. $1.9 million is spent on supplements for athletic coaches. $1.2 million is spent on education non-resident employees' children. We the undersigned oppose the plan proposed by Richmond (VA) Public Schools' Board to contract with Teach For America (TFA). Richmond Public Schools claims that TFA teachers will fill vacant posts in our schools. We oppose contracting for teachers in this way because: 1) It is not cost-effective: TFA costs the Richmond Public Schools $5000 per-teacher above the regular salary 2) TFA teachers only receive 5 weeks of training, and have little to no experience working with children of color prior to being accepted in the program. 3) TFA teachers only teach for 2 years, and the turnover makes improving schools even more difficult.
