As Americans, we should all be concerned about the health and well-being of the children and elderly in this country. Holding up funding for the food stamp program for women and children is a disgrace. Some radicals in Congress seem to think women and children can go without food. Well, then those Congressmen and Congresswomen, and their families, should go without a paycheck. In addition, there are children in this country who have serious illnesses and are being denied the opportunity to participate in clinical trials that might save their lives. How can we credibly criticize Syria for gassing innocent citizens, including children, when we are taking political and economic actions in this country that may have dire, perhaps even life or death consequences for some of our most vulnerable citizens? Some of our legislators are completely out of touch with the majority of American people. Let them feel the pinch of their irresponsible actions, too. The Affordable Care Act is a legitimate law--passed according to rules laid out in the Constitution of the United States--and supported by the Supreme Court. This lawful act is not a legitimate topic for budget negotiations. I am tired of a very small group of radical, ideological Tea Party members ruining our country. I confidently predict they will be voted out of office in the next election. Until then, they ought to forfeit their income as long as they act to keep the government shut down. Because I am an American serving this country for almost 30 years (both active duty and civil service) and I respect that the will of the people should prevail here. SOMETHING NEEDS DONE WHEN OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS ARE WILLING TO MAKE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE MISS THEIR PAYCHECKS BECAUSE SOMETHING THAT WAS PASSED INTO LAW DOESN,T SUITE THEM AND THEY NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR IT ,AND IT NEEDS STOPED AND THEY NEED TO NO IT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED BY EITHER PARTY OR IT WILL NEVER END AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE PAYING THE PRICE ,WE WANT THEM ARRESTED AND REMOVED FROM OUR OFFICES AND NEW PEOPLE APPOINTED TO RUN THEIR OFFICES UNTIL WE CAN ELECT NEW PEOPLE ,AND THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE IS NUMBER ONE.

Rep. Matt Salmon, recently said that "reforming our immigration system to address the status of the 11 million people in our country illegally should focus on normalizing their legal status." While Rep. Salmon’s words are a step forward in the right direction, they just aren't enough to fix our broken system. First, real immigration reform must have an earned path to citizenship for the 11 million. Second, we’re tired of words. It’s time for House Republicans to act. Speaker John Boehner and Republican leaders are blocking reform, saying that they won’t hold a vote unless most Republicans in Congress support it. Congress is supposed to vote on things that have support from the majority of people, not just one party or the other. And right now a majority of Americans support a path to citizenship. We need Republicans like Rep. Salmon to listen to them. Democrats in the House have just introduced a bill that can get bipartisan support. If Rep. Your district's representative in the House, Congressman Devin Nunes, is one of the 26 House Republicans who support a path to citizenship. His support for this bill could be the tipping point for our movement. If he becomes the first Republican to sign on, we know more of his colleagues in his party will build up the courage to follow. With a path to citizenship within reach, we need to get Rep. Nunes off the fence and onto our side. He needs to join the more than 150 House members and cosponsor this new immigration bill!
