Our planet is rapidly deteriorating. Soon it will become a barren wasteland devoid of any life what so ever. The only remnants of our time spent on earth will be mountains of garbage filling every existing crevice. Preserving our planet and creating a sustainable way of life on Earth should be the top priority of every human being.

There would be no IRS scandal at all if there were no tax exempt (501-C4s) status. There is no reason to pretend these organizations are chartible groups in any way.

This is about the high salaries and benefits package received by our legislators and congress men/women. You should be concerned because it is your money that is funneled to them via taxes. It is time for them to not make any laws in which they do not follow. We get Obama care; they get the best health insurance. We are lucky IF we get a retirement package; they are assured a lifetime retirement (even if serving only one term). We get social security; they are exempt and have their own package. They vote themselves raises; have you had one recently?

In the last week the prices of gas jumped $.17 and again the gas companies said they raised it because their doing maintenance on a refinery. We need to stop this yo-yo effect that gas companies are using on the people. We already pay fees that are suppose to be used for maintenance or any other disaster. Lets place a ceiling on prices to no more than $.05 for emergencies from a price of $2.99 for gas.

There are people out on parole trying to be rehabilitated and wants or need Jobs but some employers won't give them a break by hiring them even if they admit they had did a crime before sometimes if they are given a break it helps them become better citizens and society should be proud of the process they have made for every job given it could prevent the ones that want to give back to the community from returning to crime especially if they were not violent crimes

The Social Security 'problem'.

The Ann Arbor Public School District's Board of Education is forced to make $8.76 million dollars in cuts to its annual budget. One cut under serious consideration is eliminating all high school bus service. Many students live very far from their "home" high schools- in some cases more than an hour's walk. While this affects all students, the impact for students from low-income families will be disproportionate. Getting all students to school safely and efficiently should be a priority. If students don't attend school, they cannot graduate. The future for high school drop-outs is a bleak one- and ultimately we all will pay a heavy price.

Ask the IRS to revoke the tax exempt status from any group, conservative or liberal, who does not truly fit into the correct classification. The 501(c)(4) designation is actually intended for nonprofit group classified as "Civic Leagues, Social Welfare Organizations, and Local Associations of Employees." None of those terms apply to any group recently embroiled in the so-called IRS "scandal." 501(c)(4) organizations are generally civic leagues and other corporations operated exclusively for the promotion of "social welfare", such as civics and civics issues, or local associations of employees with membership limited to a designated company or people in a particular municipality or neighborhood, and with net earnings DEVOTED EXCLUSIVELY to charitable, educational, or recreational purposes. 501(c)(4) organizations may lobby for legislation, and unlike 501(c)(3) organizations they may also participate in political campaigns and elections, AS LONG AS ITS PRIMARY ACTIVITY IS THE PROMOTION OF SOCIAL WELFARE. 501(c)(4) organizations are NOT REQUIRED to disclose their donors publicly. The lack of disclosure has led to extensive use of the 501(c)(4) provisions for organizations that are actively involved in lobbying, and has become controversial. Criticized as "dark money," spending from these organizations on political TV ads has exceeded spending from Super PACs.

If we stopped the war on ALL drugs and put the delivery system into the hands of competent people, we'd create many jobs, eliminate killings (not only innocents but dealers & suppliers) + save the prison system for terrorists, murderers, rapists & pedophiles. We'd also have cells for white-collar criminals who steal billions every day. Right now, the SCE doesn't have employees to stop thieves who prey on rich & hard-working people alike. They made a mockery of imprisoning Bernie Madoff while many are left to continue stealing. The War on Drugs will NEVER be won! The United States needs to join the rest of the industrialized nations who have already legalized ALL drugs.

I am tired of scammers calling me and also e-mails. Why can't something be done about this? Have harsher laws would be a good answer.

There are so many issues affecting this country but two stand out... a) the gun control issue..we can have common sense about the First Amendment (no yelling fire in a movie theatre)-Freedom of Speech---but no compromise about the 2nd? b) the amount of money, supplied by special interests, to both sides of the political arena, make us a highly corrupt system. We talk about being a Democracy but, in fact, we are more concerned with capital than with freedom
