I'm a breast cancer survivor and I also suffered with a difficult pregnancy while stationed at Camp Lejeune Marine Corp Base in Jacksonville,NC. Unbeknown to many Active duty Marines and Navy personnel stationed there along with families were affected by the water that had been contaminated since the 50's with chemicals used for cleaning. Many who served have either been diagnosed with Cancer or Leukemia and their family members ie children. My husband now deceased suffered from severe headaches and self medicated to deal with those headaches and subsequently died at age 38 in the VA hospital in D.C. 2/14/2006 leaving behind 3 daughters. Our eldest child was born after a difficult pregnancy with problems and had to be in neo-natal icu for weeks after her birth, then afterwards frequently at the doctor due to problems breathing, she has had pneumonia too many times to count and diagnosed with graves disease. My other daughters have had surgeries due to issues with their reproductive systems as young as 11 years of age ending in surgeries. I attribute it to the environmental contamination of living, bathing and eating/drinking foods and drinks prepared with that contaminated water. My doctor stated that mybreast cancer was environmental and genetic testing confirms that for me as this disease did not run in my family.

Currently too many workers are limited by their employer in the number of hours they are allowed to work, so that the employer is not required to provide those benefits that are provided for full time employees who work forty hours or more. Under The Affordable Health Care Act for example, it is contemplated that many workers will be kept to under thirty (30) hours by their employer, who then is not required to provide the proposed benefits of Obama Care. Some individuals now work a number of different jobs totaling more than forty hours a week, but can never acquire the benefits that are paid to full time employees who work forty (40) hours or more a week for a single employer. Why should workers be penalized because employers "game" the system by keeping employees in a part time status to avoid providing benefits ? Some employers have even coerced employees to punch out while working so they will never attain full time status. Workers often have difficult work schedules. If workers were paid benefits proportional to the number of hours worked some of the inequity currently existing would disappear. Forty hours equals 100% of the employer provided benefits, twenty hours equals 50%, four hours equals 10% of the benefits. It is time to demand equity. Benefits should be proportional to the number of hours worked, not tied to the forty hour work week of the past.

We need gun control. Why is it that the U.S. House and U.S. Senate can protect other countries but not our own citizens. Very few in Congress actually represent America. You care more about your re-election than the killing of children. How does that feel? Anybody who is against gun control at this point is a NRA ROBOT or worried more about their political future. Everbody in Congress who voted against Manchin-Toomey should be fired!!

I am asking the administration’s to make progress on climate and whether. For the sake of our children and our future, we must do more to combat climate change.I hope the president turns down the Keystone XL oil pipeline. We must cut in half the energy wasted by our homes and businesses.I am asking Congress to develop an economy-wide emissions reduction program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions,reduce the carbon pollution that threatens our health and our climate.Most important, it’s to develop new plan who will produce the wind turbines and solar panels and develop the alternative fuels to power the future.

Our government needs to do its job and take care of the veterans as prescribed by the constitution, President Abraham Lincoln and DOD regulations. In many locations and time frames, the DVA (Dept. of Veteran's Affairs)assumes that units were not exposed or vet served there, when the DOD only fails to find the data that confirms exposure or service connection occurred, a low priority for the DOD (Dept. of Defense), and oftern due to poor, lost, classified and missing old records. The DVA has the proof in their claims and decision records and are legally obligated to research these; this is a must! Dioxins are from Agent Orange / Rainbow - Tactical Herbicides, some PCBs and insecticides. They were used to defoliate / defend perimeter fence lines around bases and TAC sites, to prevent fires, in hydraulic fluids, in electrical equipment, in cleaning fluids and to control insects / pests. Currently, many vets are not getting these benefits, as many exposed units are not listed for many locations, many countries; due to poor, destroyed, classified and lost records (per DOD). Also found in soil and well water at many U.S. bases, dioxin is one cause of many medical conditions. The DVA acts like the DOD said all other units were not exposed. In many locations and time frames, the DVA assumes that units were not exposed or that the vet did not serve there, when the DOD only fails to find the data that confirms exposure or that service occurred, a low priority for the DOD and due to poor, lost, classified and missing decades old records. Many spouses and offspring are also effected by this, and this becomes very hard for them to prove! I am told that less than 5% of claims have been approved; some of those have taken decades, this is statistically lop-sided! Too many vets and others that should have been included in past and present legislation have and are being left behind. Trying to get wider legislation and to uncover unfair DVA practices to "Deny, deny until they die"! I was in an AO / dioxin exposed unit, one of many and in many countries, not recognized by the DVA / DOD due to poor, missing, classified records such as some in RVN, ROK ( the 38th Brgd. ADA and all other missile sites in Korea and support units ), ghost walkers, AF bases, Okinawa, Panama, and many CONUS bases, to name just a few of MANY. Many air bases had exposure to herbicides that were sprayed around aircraft taxiways and aircraft parking areas. Veterans worked and inhaled 24/7 these herbicides that were sprayed within a few feet of their work areas. I am hoping that someone in DC realizes that if this is done, they would not have to admit to any specific US or other location being contaminated, and also not release any classified data, while still enabling vets their decades overdue and just benefits. We are just now trying to deal with the effects of our last military involvement in another country. PTSD, limbless, homeless, jobless veterans. How many more times do we have to experience this devastation?

American citizens are frequently asked to sign a paper stating that they will allow a potential employer to check their credit. This is a invasion of privacy. The information should be considered private and personal. It does not benefit the employer as there are various reasons why a person may have a low credit score or bankruptcy, such as due to a job loss or catastrophic illness. We have just been through a major economic collapse. Employers have no business requiring this information and it needs to stop. We want a law passed making it illegal for employers to ask or obtain this information.

Washington, DC is the only capital in the free world that denies its citizens voting representation in national government. Citizens from all the 435 congressional districts vote for a representative and two senators. Why are we treated differently? Growing up here or moving to Washington should not result in having your right to congressional representation stripped from you. It is immoral to allow this condition to continue.

I feel that one can serve only master at a time. No matter what coiuntry in which a person holds citizenship, partial allegiance is not possible and should not be allowed either in Congress or in any other branch of government I would also include the State Department as well as the military services. If one wants to serve they should be willing to give up citizenship in another country A number of countries do not permit service by dual citizenship holders. The U.S. should be one of them.

Senior Citizens are being forced to live on the street because of their non-violent backgrounds records. The HUD agents are denying senior citizens to be enrolled into the Federal Government senior cotozens low income housing program because of their non-violent records that are 10,20,30,40,50, years old.
