The North Coast Deserves a Functional Junior CollegeThe North Coast Community needs a fully funded, fully functional 2 year accredited junior college to serve the needs of local citizens to have access to public education at relatively low cost. Graduating high school seniors from Fort Bragg and Mendocino Unified School Districts deserve the option of a proper junior college path to a 4 year education and beyond. Our community is somewhat isolated and needs this fully functional and fully funded junior college.2,064 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Jessie VanSant

Stop The Teen Tan Ban in MassachusettsMassachusetts currently has a parental consent law in place for those who want their teens to tan. Many teens tan before vacations to avoid sunburn, for acne, psoriases, eczyma, depression, etc. There is a lot of scientific data supporting the health benefits of moderate gradual tanning. The government should not ban something that MIGHT or COULD be harmful.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Glen Asaro

Wildlife and Habitat Restoration in our National Forests and Public LandsThe "multiple use" concept in our National Forests and other public lands has left our natural wildlife and habitats behind again. Too much motorized access for timber, mining, recreation and unrestricted hunting and trapping have kept habitat, especially wetland habitat, from adequate protection and recovery. In particular, active beaver-managed wetlands are known to provide multiple benefits for all species including threatened and endangered species of both plants and animals. The cyclic nature of undisturbed beaver-created openings in the forest are far more productive and effective than "micro-managed" attempts to create habitat artifically with "wildlife openings" that are regularly mowed or burned, "beneficial" forest clear-cuts or artificial dams that are expensive and require maintenance. These natural wetlands also improve all aspects of our regions' hydrology including flood mitigation, drought relief, pollution and sediment reduction and forest fire suppression and yet have far too little protection in our ever-expanding world of roads, trails and other development. Goal: up to at least 10% of our publicly owned natural (relatively un-altered/undeveloped) landscapes which would also increase habitat and ecosystem continuity. This would not mandate the elimination of trails or even roads or other access but would require the above protections to be 1st priority and uncompromised to the greatest (peer-reviewed) extent practicable.149 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Richard A. Mandate Employers to Provide Paid Sick Leave to EmployeesWith viruses always being spread shouldn't employers be required to provide sick leave to their employees? This past winter and early spring I noticed so many people getting sick: strep throat, the flu(multiple different strains), the norovirus, and the list goes on; many don't take work off because they don't receive any kind of paid sick time and really can't afford it. This just causes the diseases to spread that much easier and faster, with commutes to work and being around your co-workers, then going home to family...; some kind of law needs to be mandated requiring employers to provide at least 40 hours of sick time to their employees.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sara Baciak

Stop The Lies Aka Propaganda From The RightAll of the false scandals & tax dollars wasted by the congress .The right wing flank is destroying democracy. The abuse the filibuster, cater to NRA and all the lobbyists money. They are public servants payed by our tax dollars, who work part time at best. One goal to destroy our President Obama.Free speech yes ,slander no more.I am feeling at some point it crosses the line from unamerican to treason.Needs to stop.Rand Paul just defended Apple today for being so clever , they pay virtually zero taxes in USA , while making billions in profits.Jobs need to come home or we need to organize boycott & inform. The left has to play the game, stop being quiet. We are telling the truth.Time for action. This hurts our economy, our children, reputation in the world.Which weakens us leaving us vulnerable.ENOUGH TIME FOR ACTION.SOCIAL MEDIA USED FOR GOOD IS A POWERFUL TOOL.EVEN LIES WITHOUT BEING COUNTERED BY TRUTH BECOME BELIEVED.ADULTS LIKE CHILDREN LEARN BY REPITITION.TIME TO START TALKING PEOPLE.THIS IS ABOUT THE FUTURE OF ALL WE STOOD FOR AS AMERICANS.NOW IS THE TIME!!!!2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lori

Congressional competencyCongress is representing corporations and lobbyist rather then the constituents who elected them. We need to put them to the test of competency by voting mid term, that our Congress is competent. This will keep them representing us rather then lobbyist and large corporations.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jerald

Citizens Demand To Close Indian Point Nuclear PlantTwenty million people live within fifty miles of Indian Point, and the risks are very real: 1. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) told Americans living 50 miles from Fukushima to evacuate, yet Indian Point has an inadequate evacuation plan of only 10 miles. 2. Indian Point is located near a fault line. In the event of an earthquake of a possible magnitude of 7, Indian Point is totally vulnerable. 3. Indian Point operates without an approved fire prevention plan and has been exempted from countless safety rules. 4. Indian Point lacks an adequate protection plan in a world of real terrorist threats. 5. Indian Point does not have a plan to repay the potential loss of lives, homes, livelihood, and irreparable damage to drinking water and the environment for the residents of the historic Hudson Valley. Replaceable energy is not worth the enormous safety risk that Indian Point poses. Please, sign the petition to close Indian Point today!4,851 of 5,000 SignaturesCreated by Renee & Jordan kalfus

49ers, take out "San Francisco" from the team nameSanta Clara is not only the new location of the 49ers stadium, it's also home to the 49ers headquarters. Santa Clara is roughly 44 miles from San Francisco. I started this petition because as a Santa Clara resident, I feel it's a slap in the face the 49ers would remain the San Francisco 49ers once the move to Santa Clara is complete. Why not name the team the Santa Clara 49ers, Bay Area 49ers, California 49ers, etc. After all, if the 49ers organization wanted to keep the San Francisco 49ers name intact, they should have stayed in the San Francisco area.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Randolph Knackstedt
