• Stop Income Tax Fraud
In Tampa, Florida one can view the news weekly and people are being convicted for filling false tax returns all of the time. Why not put a square box on the tax form where one must put their thumb print to ensure the true identity of the tax payer?

  • End Abuse by Pregnant Women to Their Unborn
We need a law that prevents pregnant women doing harm to their unborn children by their acts of smoking tobacco, smoking marijuana, drinking alcohol and conuming other types of drugs. I live in a small town in Illinois where I constantly see pregnant women smoking and drinking and I have tried to educate many of the harmful effects of the newborn but found that with any addiction, women find it difficult to quit. I would like to see women who use drugs while pregnant forced to become educated through rehab or jail if the pregnant women aren't willing to take the steps to stop. I would also like to see the child be removed at birth and brought to a safer environment. Not enough is being done to prevent this form of child abuse.

  • Jonathan Jarvis reverse the decision by the National Park Service to close Milford Beach and trai...
We live in Milford PA and are concerned about the economy of our town when essential recreational and public land is being shut down by the National Park Service, and agency that is directly under the Minister of the Interior, as a result of sequestration. The amount of money that is cut is marginal compared to the loss cuts loss of revenue to the town and surrounding areas. We urge Jonathan Jarvis to open his eyes to the consequences and find another, less pernicious place to save $250,000.

  • We Need Bold Solutions to MA Education & Transportation
Massachusetts has an historic opportunity to make a real investment in our schools, roads, and public transit in order to create good jobs and strengthen our communities. Yet this week, the legislature is faced with voting on an inadequate proposal. We can’t continue to kick the can down the road. Now is the time to be bold and address our aging trains and schools, our crumbling roads and bridges.

  • Stop Social Security cuts
It is hard enough to live on social security now..... and it seems everytime we have a debit crisis, they want to cut social security. This is NOT a handout. I worked all my life and paid into this program. So did the majority of people drawing social security. If you must make cuts, make them where the people involved will not be devistated!!!

  • Social Security Cuts
My mother is 82 and solely dependent on Social Security. Not only that, legal American citizens work their butts of to make a living and pay into the Social Security system. NO ONE has the right to tell working class citizens that they do not deserve to get their money back to support them in their old age!

  • Representative Kilmer: Say NO to Social Security cuts
President Obama will reportedly propose cuts to Social Security benefits by including "chained CPI" in his budget proposal to Congress. Senior citiizens and other recipients of federal benefits affected by "chained CPI" cannot afford these cuts, especially since Social Security has nothing to do with the federal budget deficit.

  • Rep. Matsui: Oppose Cuts to Social Security
The President is proposing to use a cut called the “Chained CPI” that will cut benefits for every single Social Security beneficiary—now and in the future. My mother, like most seniors, relies on social security for 90% of her monthly income. Any cut will force her and other seniors and disabled citizens on fixed incomes to choose between needed prescription drugs, utilities or groceries. Our Social Security system has never contributed a penny to the deficit. The debt we have comes from a decade of tax cuts for the wealthy, unlimited spending on foreign wars and a recession caused by unregulated Wall Street speculation. It’s wrong to ask senior citizens, veterans and the disabled to pay for the greed of the top 1%.
