Oppose HB2265 which increases the mandatory-minimum for weapon-related offenses. Do not let legislators pretend to address the problem of gun violence by sweeping more young people in prison. HB2265 would spike the prison population by thousands in just a few years, for no public safety gain.

In backlash to pollution reduction measures enacted by the European Union (EU), airlines pushed for and Congress passed legislation giving the government the authority to prohibit U.S. airlines from complying with the EU's new rules. Now, the EU program has been suspended for one year to allow for an international body to put together an agreement to reduce global emissions from the sector. The aviation sector should not be exempted from attempts to combat climate change. Technologies are available to build better engines and lighter materials. Such measures will not only decrease the emissions of harmful gases such as carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide but will also save costs on fuel. Secretary Kerry can advance President Obama’s mission to create solutions that mitigate climate change and ultimately keep our environment safe. Please tell Secretary Kerry to act now.

Paul Ryan's newest budget plan -- a rehash of the plan Americans resoundingly rejected last year, but with even deeper cuts -- protects the wealthy while demanding sacrifice from those who can least afford it. Ryan's plan privatizes Medicare. It slashes education, infrastructure and research funding. It makes it harder for poor Americans to afford health care by nearly cutting Medicaid in half by 2023. And it does all that while giving big tax breaks to the very wealthiest Americans and maintaining our unsustainable military budget. Congress must reject Paul Ryan's cruel budget and focus on helping the millions of Americans who are still struggling.

This petition is to stop the "state budget cut" to close the doors on the only aftercare programs in our county. We recieved a letter stating that as of June 30th the doors would be closed. HOW are people suppose to work? Many people rely on that aftercare program, because they work in different towns and do not get off of work in time to pick their children up from school. So many parents will be unemployed or kids will be going wild, not having the guidance that they need. Myself as well as countless other parents have no clue what we will do as far as working, if this actually happens - This is one budget cut that should be reconsidered. Think about all the lives that is going to be affected.

Gov. Cuomo's budget proposal contains $120 million in cuts to services for people with developmental disabilities operated by non-profit service providers in NY state and $120 million more in cuts to the NYS Office for People with Developmental Disabilities. To balance the state's coffers on the backs of our most vulnerable citizens is a moral outrage that could end up denying these innocent people vital services. We never want to see a return to the days of the institutional hell-holes. Please help us stop these cuts!

The citizens of Oregon need to feel safe in all public places. Now is the time to mandate gun safety in our state. We've already experienced and increase in gun related incidents in the Metro area including gang and the shooting at Clackamas Town Center.
