Bills to decrease, and eventually abolish, the state income tax are currently moving through the Oklahoma House and Oklahoma Senate. (The Oklahoma Tax Commission estimates the loss in revenue under Senate Bill #1571 at $1.4 billion.) If we lose income-tax revenue, either schools and health care will suffer or else sales tax and property tax will go up. Fellow Oklahomans, let's let Governor Fallin and our state legislators know this isn't the way to improve life in our state!

The Senate conference has REMOVED the $2 million in funding for the Catskill Mountain Rail Trail that was originally allocated in Governor Cuomo's Executive Budget from its version of the budget. Although the $2 million item is still included in the Assembly version of the budget, this significant funding is now in extreme jeopardy. And today is our last chance to save it as their discussing the budget right now!

The FL Legislature is considering disbanning developmental education at the college level. Developmental education at the college level opens the door to a college education for many students who otherwise would not have that opportunity. It is my guess that many FL legislators benefited from developmental education, but now they have become elitist and do not wish others to have that same opportunity.

Will you help me send him a message on Tuesday that he can’t take my family’s home? For years, we faithfully made our monthly payments until we ran into some bad luck. I lost my job and Rosana had to take a leave of absence to care for her mom who was very ill. By the time we both were able to get back to work, we were behind on our monthly mortgage payments. In his position, DeMarco is the boss of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. And no matter how much we tried to negotiate, Freddie Mac refused to any modification of our loan because of Ed DeMarco’s irrational and destructive opposition to principal reduction. Since then, we’ve saved the money to buy back our home with the support of a local non-profit, but Freddie Mac still won’t take our offer. Ed DeMarco is hurting my family and millions of other families and dragging down our country's economic progress. We worked hard to buy this home, and we love our community. Our children deserve better than what Ed DeMarco is doing to them. On Tuesday, we can send the message to Ed DeMarco that he needs to do what's right. Can you join me and tell Ed DeMarco that he can't take my home? We want to be able to pay our mortgage every month and remain in the home and community we love.

Medical cannabis saved my life. My name is Irvin Rosenfeld, I am the longest surviving of the final 4 Federal medical cannabis patients in the Nation. I have received medical cannabis from the Federal Government for over 30 years now - right here in Florida. I believe if medical cannabis were available for all Floridians we would see benefits for many people, a decrease in prescription pill abuse, and more people becoming productive members of society as their health improves. I am living proof cannabis works, and I am a productive member of society, working at my brokerage firm. Without cannabis, I very well would have been home bound, and a drain on society rather than a contributing member.

Republican Rep. Paul Ryan, the House Budget Committee chairman, has released his most extreme budget proposal yet. It will slash vital services, dismember Medicare and repeal Obamacare. It will slow the economy and put 2 million people out of work. The House should instead vote for the Progressive Caucus Back to Work budget. It would create 7 million jobs in the next year, putting people back to work so that they start earning incomes and paying taxes. It protects Social Security and Medicare benefits for everyone. And it asks the wealthy and the multinationals to pay their fair share so we can make investments vital to our future – modernizing our infrastructure, educating our children, grabbing a lead in the green industrial revolution.

The government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is currently prosecuting nearly 100 individuals, including human-rights lawyers, judges, teachers, and student activists, in Abu Dhabi for allegedly attempting to overthrow the government of the UAE. We the undersigned are faculty, staff, students, and alumni of New York University (NYU) who take a special interest in the rights of free speech, intellectual freedom, and political dissent in the UAE because of the presence of an NYU branch campus in that country (NYU Abu Dhabi).

I attended ITT Technical Institute and now owe over $96 thousand dollars for an Associates level education that has no extrinsic value. The school specializes in little more than high pressure sales, misleading information, "college credits" and "degrees" that are not transferable and coercion. They hurt the economy by knowingly offering a substandard product that effectively places most alumni in precarious and often dire financial situations. As a “for profit” school they should be held to the same standards as other businesses and “customers” should have the right to request a refund for reasons of: “Disputes Quality of Goods or Services”, “Defective/Not as Described” or “Services Not Rendered”. They should made accountable for poor business practices and taking advantage of students.

Our children are more then numbers to fill seats in warehouses called school. We must require higher standards for educators, abolish no child left behind act and begin true education. Our children are not corporate slaves and tools for share holders. Let's create innovators, chemists, forerunners, by making sure that a whole education is not just good words imposed on student bodies. Educators are only the middle men the messengers if you will. While it is the publishers, collective tax dollars and community pooling that have a actual effect and say on what can and can't be taught. Tell congress to actually be for the people and let us decide in conjunction with non profits and corporations what our child's education should be, not the other way around.

Eric Holder has been totally ineffective in bringing the " Banksters " to justice. He has also failed to to do anything about the admitted war criminals in the previous administration. He has shown time and time again that he is afraid of big companies and corporations. We need someone with guts to take on the nation's major criminals.
