A Bipartisan Way to Actually Reduce Gun ViolenceSince Newtown, as of March 10, 2,574 people have been killed by guns in the US - almost 92 times as many as died at Newtown! The PLUS-15 Rule will reduce gun violence nationally, and it is likely to have broad, bipartisan political support, too. Help to significantly reduce gun violence in America. Sign the petition and support the PLUS-15 Rule.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Greg Smith

Georgia: Don't Allow Guns in College Classrooms, Churches, and BarsHouse Bill 512, which allows weapons on college campuses, in places of worship, and in bars, passed the Georgia House of Representatives with overwhelming support last week. As a college professor and a minister, I find this terrifying. The Georgia University System as a whole opposes this legislation, but the House supported a few students at urban campuses who feel unsafe and want to carry weapons. Georgia Senate and Governor Deal: fund increased security on these campuses. Don't endanger everyone in the most emotional and/or alcohol soaked places in the state!40 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jennie S Knight

Stop Bill 399 From Destroying Clayton County SchoolsSadly, Rep. David Knight from Griffin, Georgia has introduced House Bill 399 to undermine the taxing authority of the Clayton County government to collect taxes from vendors who lease space at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. The airport is located in Clayton which is why the tax code is now being rigged to accomplish this scheme. If this bill becomes law it means a loss of $15 million in revenue that fund our schools. It will bleed our educational system and further stagnant our economic recovery. We must make defeating this bill our top priority.20 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Josephine Slaton

Medicaid ExpansionThe decision as to whether to accept Medicaid assistance from the federal government is being considered by the Florida House, whose leader opposes it along party lines. The governor, Rick Scott who has refused it for several years, now is in favor of providing Medicaid expansion. Economic conditions caused by unregulated government policies and wasteful spending have caused severe financial hardships for hard working people who paid taxes that have provided this funding. Health care costs have skyrocketed! This Medicaid funding is desperately needed for thousands of Floridians. This is not a "party" issue, it is making a humane decision for persons who elected these officials and have provided the money to help themselves and others at a period of extreme need. It is time to serve the people and not special interest groups who elect officials.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Janet Cardulla
