Common Core Standards and Technical BudgetsCalifornia Public Schools should be allocated budgets per student that cover cost of implementing Common Core Standards and the Technology to support STEM education. Budgets will consider new technology implemented in every school in the previous year and that is applied towards the schools per student cost. This will allow schools that do not have the proper equipment to catch up.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mary Talpas

JOBS!JOBS!JOBS for MATURE AMERICANSI have been unemployed for over 2 years, and cannot find job despite my fervent desire and abiity to work. My optimism that America will take care of its citizens is waning. Individuals, whether born and raised in America, who live in San Diego, CA and speak Spanish but have much less education than me can readily obtain employment, while I suffer from lack of employment because my primary language is English and I do not speak spanish as required by numerous job announcements. Also, I believe I am discriminated against because of my age. I am 55 years old.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Shekerah Price

Pay Congress minimum wage, no work no pay.Congress no longer works FOR the people. They work for corporations and their own interests. Their main priority is to make President Obama fail, which makes the country worse off. We, the people who pay their salaries, should demand work in return. Also if they don't want health insurance for all, single payer, they should not have health insurance themselves, provided by us.155 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Julia Chamness

Increase Campus Protection of WomenYoung women attending Colorado's institutes of higher education are particularly vulnerable to assault including rape. The legislation regarding on-campus CCW bans has brought stark and scary light to this situation. I attended CU Boulder where this issue was a sizeable concern and risk for women. One generation later, as my own daughter prepares to attend college, I don't see any appreciable changes to made women safer on campus.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mark P

Hire/ReHire Employment CounselorsI Joe Sangataldo was laid off 10/10/10 from the Vineland One Stop Center with six other Employment Counselors. We were federal stimulus full time funded Civil Service and UAW Union Employees. The County said the were short funds and had to cut. Acutal budgets I reviewed for the specific county budget showed no short fall in funds. I and my Co Workers were sending Adults to training, job searching, and advising several thousands of area unemployed to battle the lack of jobs. In Cumberland and Atlantic County NJ the UI rate is over 15% easy. It is almost at the bottom for jobs in the entire nation.16 of 100 SignaturesCreated by joseph sangataldo

Transportation Equity for the MBTA and RidersThe Massachusetts state legislature in an attempt to kick the fiscal can down the road saddled our extensive urban transit system with the debt incurred by the Big Dig (otherwise known as the Big Trough) - an almost entirely vehicle oriented construction nightmare complete with the usual shoddy construction work and defective materials. Worse, they also insisted that the MBTA operate each year on a balanced budget. As a result, commuters, seniors, the entire MBTA ridership are saddled with an unworkable economic plan almost guaranteed to sink a vital urban transit system. As a consequence, promises to execute environmental justice mitigation projects for the communities affected (or afflicted!) by the Big Dig are going unfulfilled because, of course, there are no funds available. This would be easily rectified by the state assuming responsibility for the Big Dig debt and allowing the MBTA to operate as an ordinary business.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Alex Pirie

Repeal or Reform Arkansas' HIV Exposure LawRepeal this law because: It stops people at high risk from testing. It perpetuates and increases stigma. No empirical data are available regarding the effectiveness of HIV serostatus exposure laws. - NIH It puts the person with HIV in danger of violence. It was written in 1989 when HIV/AIDS was untreatable. It is used as a weapon against people that are positive. Treatment decreases the possibility of spreading the infection by 97%. It makes everyone with HIV a victim. A person with HIV can be punished when no risk occurred. Reform this law because: HIV is now treatable and is considered a chronic illness. Treatment is available. Treatment decreases the possibility of spreading the infection by 97%. Tuberculosis has punitive actions that only make treatment the mandatory sentence. Since 2008, only 10 people have been convicted of exposure to HIV. Over 4,000 people are not in treatment and reforming this law can play a major role in encouraging people into care.37 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Diedra Levi

State Insurance Denying Employees their Right to Separation of Church and StateI found out recently that I can not afford birth control since Govenor Brownback increased the cost of this medication for state employes and their families. Also Brownback has made it so state insurance will not cover any of the cost for a woman to get a Hysterectomies in the state of Kansas. Brownback should not be aloud to push his Catholic views on state employees. Make it known you still believe in religous freedom and sign our petition today.
