Anti-depressants are illegal all over the world because of their close ties to both psychoses and suiciidality. Why are Colorado doctors and nurse practitioners still able to prescribe junk medicine (see e.g. Whitaker, Robert, Anatomy of an Epidemic, New York: Crown Publishers 2009).

HB 2787 needs to move out of committee and onto the House floor.

My father lived a full and vigorous life of 84 years, but he was not allowed to die in peace. Even in the excellent hospice facility he chose for his final days, he was forced to die in agony because the law didn't allow his doctor or care-givers to administer enough morphine to end his terrible suffering. Instead, very slowly, over a period of days, he drowned in his own body fluids. No-one should ever have to suffer that way. No family should ever have to watch helplessly as their loved one passes from this world in such pain. We don't even make our pets endure such needless anguish. Montanans must be given the option to die with dignity. Terminally ill patients must have the right to alleviate unnecessary suffering in their last days. We must pass SB220.

Celebratory Gunfire is a reckless and Intrusive threat to human life in Georgia. Every year in Georgia Innocent people are wounded and or killed due to this activity. Marquel Peters and Sergio Martinez are just a small representation of people that lost their lives due to this activity in Georgia. This must stop.

We worry about violence in our country and across the world. Why can't we believe we can be inadvertantly causing it when Mutilation, Murder and Rape are all commonplace in our entertainment at any time of day. Can't we protect ourselves and our children's future?

Every day 34 Americans are murdered with guns, more than one every hour. Every day without action by Congress is letting the equivalent of another tragedy like Sandy Hook, or Aurora, or Tucson, or Virginia Tech happen. It's past time for you to help stop the senseless gun violence. Stand with the safety of our children and communities instead of the NRA and the gun and ammo industry.

There is NO safe way to do horizontal hydraulic fracturing ("fracking") for extraction of natural gas. Ground water supplies are poisoned in the process, and the trucking of materials involved, as well as the escaped methane, create greenhouse gases that worsen global warming. This largely unregulated procedure has already caused death and illness to large numbers of people and animals, and has caused environmental degradation wherever it is located.

At the Newtown Memorial Service you declared, for the death of twenty children and seven adults, “I’ll use whatever power this office holds…in an effort aimed at preventing more tragedies like this.” Since you spoke those words, more than 50 fellow human beings have been murdered in Chicago alone, where last year’s gang-connected violence excelled 18 times the number in Newtown, where “since 2001 Chicago has recorded more than 5,000 gun-related deaths.”* “Tragedies!” Because we empathize with the suffering of others and value human life as do you, we believe you have the power and the courage to transform your words “enough is enough,” to l’chaim – for life!

I suffer from Post Herpetic Neuralgia, a condition where an over-active nerve in the left side of my face causes me moderate to severe pain on a daily basis. I tried medical marijuana the last time I was in California and was able to cut down my Oxycodone intake by half! However, there are folks in this state who suffer quite a bit more than I do and it is a crime that we have no legal access to a very helpful remedy!

This petition is to let our state legislators know that we oppose this new bill which restricts our individual rights.
