President Obama has been saying he wants to address climate change, but in the same speeches he says he wants to speed up the permit process for new natural gas drilling -- that means hydraulic fracturing. New York's Governor Cuomo and New Jersey's Christie have also vowed action against the cause of the severe storms that have devastated their states in recent years. I attended a FRACKED FOR REAL presentation this summer, given by three farmers from Pennsylvania all have leased land for natural gas development and regret it. They can't drink their water, their families have developed health problems, as have their livestock. The industry says natural gas has half the greenhouse gas impact as coal or oil, but recent studies show that the amount of methane released at all steps in the process show that there's no significant saving for the environment. Let's ask the president not to speed up the permit process for natural gas drilling, and instead increase investment in renewables.

Stop spending Department of Justice dollars to criminalize the poorest of the poor and most vulnerable people seeking the American Dream. While DOJ spends $10,000.00 a day prosecuting people who enter the United States without permission, the Courts have to make deals with drug runners and human traffickers. In December 2009, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals held that Operation Streamline’s group hearings in Tucson violate federal law. Courts have ruled that the assembly-line hearings in Operation Streamline violate Rule 11 on Due Process Requirements and the Fourth Amendment of the US Constitution on Probable Cause. New prisons have been built in 3 states to handle the high rate of "convictions." Private prison corporations have gained $5.5 BILLION since 2005 for housing these voiceless immigrants in deplorable conditions; indeed they are the only people who profit from Operation Streamline. Yet, Operation Streamline continues processing 400 to 650 persons a day in 2 -3 hour court sessions, Monday through Friday in Yuma and Tucson, AZ; Las Cruces, NM; El Paso, Laredo, Del Rio, Brownsville and McAllen, TX. And now, there is discussion of expanding Operation Streamline from its current 8 locations to all locations on the southern border of the United States BEFORE comprehensive immigration reform can get started.

Altough I don't have a strong connection to this topic, I feel very strongly about it. Too many innocent people are being killed. If we strengthen our gun control laws, the death rate from murders with guns will dramatically decrease.

The nation is tired of wasting both time and money in matters of government being obstructed by disgruntled legislators who's only objective is to hold the country hostage to their bitter objections and destructive agenda.

I was injured on Salt River Indian Reservation and immediately became aware of the very limited rights U S citizens have regarding protection on all Indian Reservations as they are protected by Native American Sovereignty, which really means they are a foreign country. Please write your elected officials and ask them to take action to enact laws to protect you while you are visiting Indian Reservations where you are not even always guaranteed payouts for jackpots.

Stop the obstruction of Chuck Hagel's nomination

Congress being on their job, it affects all Americans.

Without hesitation I will say that all of us will be adversely affected by those who fail to graduate from high school. Our State needs to correct the reasons that are preventing students from reaching their potential by not graduating from high school.

The MARC train is the only public transportation available to people to go to baltimore and the counties in between washington and baltimore on the weekends. It is very fast and convenient, should be made available to people on weekends as well as during the weekend. What during the week is a 20 minute trip for me to odenton takes about 2 hours on the weekend and someone has to pick me up at a very far bus stop in pointer ridge which is the only bus on weekends in anne arundel. Besides the PENN line the other Marc lines are just as important and should also be run on weekends.

Their is great concern from the public for the safety of tribal members on the Island and the future of the Police Dept. Robert Bryant (Chief of Police) has had numerous complaints filed against him from tribal and nontribal members.

As the father of four daughters I feel the time is now for us to look at reforming the "gun free zone".
