• Mr Truong Tan Sang, President of Vietnam: stop the brutal pig festival at Nem Thuong village!
President Obama and Congress, WE need to stand up and speak up as a country against animal cruelty, abuse and inhumane treatment. WE also need to lead by example with EMPATHY and COMPASSION. WE need to stand on the right side of history and use our VOICE to do the right thing for all animals on Earth. Every year, at a village near Hanoi, on the 6th day of the lunar new year, which this year is February 15, 2013 a pig is brutally chopped into two so that people can smear banknotes with its blood in the belief that it would bring luck.

  • Saving Trees By Stopping Construction
When I went to Florida, I realized just how many trees were tore down for construction purposes, such as building a "dream" home. Not to mention the fact that many animals and insects do not have a consistent food source, and home. While it would not be logical to stop tree cutting for construction purposes altogether, we must limit the number of trees construction destroys.

  • REGULATE weapons of mass murder
Banning only new sales of assault weapons and large capacity magazines is meaningless. REGULATE ALL of them, Require registration of all, even those people currently own, assess owner's fitness, require payment of a fee, enforce registration law, and tax ALL sales at 200% of sale price. Provide buy back incentives and allow for donation to well-regulated shooting ranges that will secure the weapons.

  • President Obama: Ensure Health Equity for Immigrants
Every year, millions of Americans are locked out of our country’s health care system because of federal policies that prohibit some immigrants, including legal permanent residents, from obtaining health benefits. These are bad policies that cost lives and money. They are policies that were not remedied during health care reform. They should be addressed now, as the country moves forward to fix the broken immigration system.

  • Gov. Dayton: No Additional Taxes on Veterinary Services
Simply put, please do not add taxes onto MN. Veterinary services. Currently the average cost of veterinary is, many times, out of financial reach for many middle and lower income families. The burden then falls upon the family pet and it's health or wellbeing. Being able to afford spay or neuter results in less abandoned animals at pounds and shelters and consequently less deaths. Being able to afford vaccinations or surgeries or tests needed save lives. Veterinarian offices depend upon the public continuing to seek services in order to support staff and purchasing and paying off equipment that is also needed.

  • Reckless endangerment to motorcycles
This petition is about making it illegal to dump/blow/mow leaves and grass clippings on roadways and highways. These leaves and grass clippings are slippery and could easily cause a motor vehicle (especially a motorcycle) to slip, skid, and lose control of the vehicle, causing bodily harm to the operator and passengers of the vehicle. The people who place these items on the roadways should be charged and fined for reckless endangerment and disregard of public safety.

  • No cronyism in Sandy cleanup
After Sandy, Governor Christie awarded a $100 million no-bid contract for hurricane cleanup to AshBritt Inc., a Florida-based company with deep political connections and a reputation for overcharging for their services. Then AshBritt hired key political players to help convince local governments to follow the Christie Administration and give them yet more no-bid contracts. And it’s not over. The most recent contract for AshBritt doesn't just cover Sandy cleanup -- it's for all future disasters. Even worse, the head of AshBritt's lobbying firm is giving Governor Christie a $3,800 a plate fundraiser this month. This is everything that’s wrong with New Jersey politics and it has to stop. The state should cancel its contract for future work with AshBritt and investigate the Sandy cleanup process to make sure taxpayer dollars were well spent.
