  • Tax Credit for parents helping their adult children not attending school and not making a fair wa...
There should be a tax credit for parents who still are helping thier young adult children who are not attending school and do not make a wage to become indepentent in this economy. Corporations do not pay non-college person a fair wage. Not every person can attend school. People have things happen in their lives that they cannot afford or attend college. Like my daughter who at 20 became pregnant and discided to become a mother rather than abort her child. Why should they be on welfare and food stamps??? I beleive if there was a tax credit for parents of young adults who are helping with money for food , rent, clothing maybe these young adults can get off of welfare. I am a single 51 year old who has helped my daughter and grandson all year. I have also helped my son. These young adults are having a hard time finding their independace with this economy. As a parent what ever I can do to help them I will. But just did my taxes. I have no detuctions and have to pay NY state . My federal return is not good also.

  • Consider Well the changes you make to the Electoral College
The changes are very onesided, a backlash effort to "one-up" the last election. Prove otherwise that this isn't meanspirited, and set up for the sole purpose of favoring one political party.

  • Medicaid Expansion
Unless Georgia Medicaid is expanded to include most of the half million plus uninsured Georgians, many of our small, rural hospitals will continue to be at risk for bankruptcy. The Indigent Care Fund is inadequate for current needs. Federal funding is available to provide 100% reimbursement to Georgia for Medicaid expansion for the next three years, and 90% until 2022. Why should Georgia lose this opportunity to enable its residents to obtain the health care they need at an affordable cost?

  • We petition President Obama and Congress to pass a law.
Since our federal government is not a business that must balance its budget, but rather a sovereign state that can create any amount of fiat currency, need never borrow, and can never become insolvent, we are limited only by time, material, labor, and productive capacity and not by a lack of dollars so that our problem is not an excess of necessary federal spending but an excess of unnecessary federal borrowing. The Federal Reserve System and the Treasury have used this procedure on a massive scale with enormous success. To finance World War II, the Fed pegged Treasury bonds at an almost-zero interest rate and bought as many bonds as Treasury needed to pay the nation’s wartime salaries. After the war, consumers spent their savings on homes and cars, starting 35 years of prosperity without harmful inflation.

  • Guns kill because people shoot them
I have been mugged twice, and because of the strict gun laws in Hudson County, New Jersey, I did not face a gun in either mugging. Stop using the Constitution as an excuse to keep people armed with guns. You know perfectly well it states that people in organized militias should carry guns & own guns. Unless the millions of citizens who legally own guns are in government recognized, organized militias, they should not carry guns. End of story. Try actually reading the Constitution, & tell the head the NRA to actually read the Constitution too. Maybe after reading the Constitution, he will shut up, & you people who were elected to run the country will actually uphold the Constitution & do what it says - allow guns in organized militias only!!!

  • Upgrade the Beethoven School Playground
The Beethoven Playground is heavily used by both the school and the community. In the past 2 years of bringing my children there on a regular basis I have seen too many children trip on the curbs, nearly fall off the tall play structure, eat the wood chips and disappear behind the bushes. Improvements need to be made to make it a safer and more enjoyable place for our kids to play.

  • Mayor Kevin Johnson: Save Mark Hopkins Elementary School
Mark Hopkins Elementary, sister school to Rosa Parks Middle School and the bright spot of the Meadowview community should not be closed. Mark Hopkins is a major resource of information and stability to nearby parents, students, and businesses. Just last year, the Kings basketball team made major improvements to our playground and totally renovated our computer lab. Through community support last year, our school won a local contest for a very beautiful garden on campus. During the last election, Mark Hopkins was one of the very few polling places in the vicinity. Mark Hopkins is the site of vital after school programs and community support programs. Mark Hopkins needs support so that the community can continue to be strong and grow past the economic crisis. This community cannot afford to lose Mark Hopkins Elementary. Don't force elementary school boys and girls to walk extra, potentially dangerous miles to another school. Save Mark Hopkins Elementary School!
