We need Democratic and others besides Republican Presidential candidates to be elected for the benefit of others besides the wealthy and the military industrial complex. Though our current president has done too much killing of innocents in my opinion in the name of anti-terrorism by drone strikes (see Truth-out.org article about drone strikes). Maybe we need a Green next time in office. Someone who really believes in the power of diplomacy abroad, though Mr.Obama has certainly been an improvement over George W. Bush

Did you know some Medical Centers, particularly university hospitals, charge uninsured or underinsured people 3, 5 or sometimes 10 times more than other health centers? Did you know these Medical Centers make it almost impossible for you to find out their prices before you accept to get services? You are being bullied. They assign you the doctor they want, they tell you what to do and where, and then they charge you what they want. what I am asking in this petition is not impossible: Ohio requires a hospital to make its price information list available free of charge on its web site to any person and post an announcement of the list's availability in each of the hospital's billing offices and admission, patient waiting, and reception areas. New Jersey caps hospital charges at no more than 15 percent above the Medicare payment rate for residents with a gross family income less than 500 percent of the federal poverty level.

Osama bin Laden is dead, al-Qaeda is done as a credible threat to the United States, and those who perpetrated the September 11th attacks are either dead or in prison. The law that authorized all of this, the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force, is now being used to justify abuses of civil liberties: the indefinite detention of suspected terrorists, tribunals of the same using secret evidence, and the use of drones in assassinations of people accused of crimes against the United States without due process of law. As the AUMF's original purpose has run its course, it ought to be repealed, or otherwise rescinded.

Small "Mom and Pop" businesses have been driven out of business by an unfair tax code that unfairly benefits huge conglomerates. let's make the American economy great again by getting those that make 90% of the money to pay 90% of the taxes. Reinstitute a progressive tax that will allow small enterpreneurs to compete with the conglomerates by having lower overhead.

Missouri Politians want to take tenure from teachers and have them to be at will workers. Educators should be concern about a career choice that should not be politically power by elective officials. If any concerns it should be more funding for schools and teachers. There is a SENATE Bill requesting the termination of teacher tenure in this state. As an educator for 20 plus years, I advocate for teachers who will follow and deserve the few benefits of becoming a teacher. In urban areas teacher consistence in the classroom is a must.

A major cause of the dysfunction in Washington is we have the same leaders in Congress and especially in the Senate who live and breathe what the special interests dictate. New leadership is a GOOD thing. Not without its own problems (committee heads, etc) but fresh ideas keep America fresh and up to date. Fresh faces will, also.

People should be concerned because it is stupid to let houses sit abandoned when there are people who need a place to live.

A petition to mandate that congress create and pass a Public Safety Legislation Bill. The bill would classify voting on any Public Safety issues, but in particular new laws involving:controversial Gun Violence Control legistration, to be classiffied as 'secret votes". Therefore, the law would prohibirt any senator/congressman's individual vote on public safety legislation from ever becoming known to the public in general and specifically prohibit their individual votes from ever being made publicly known to outside lobbying groups. PURPOSE: The newly created law would free legislatiors from the fear of their votes being published, so they would feel free to vote in the best interest of the general public safety issue and not at the coersion of some outside lobbying group, e.g., NRA, etc.
