Emmision controlsDear Governor Hickenlooper: I was driving back home from the doctor’s office and ahead coming toward me was a cloud of smoke. It must be a car on fire, I thought. I wasn’t; it was a small truck with a billowing cloud of emission engulfing all the surrounding vehicles and heading in my direction. Commercial vehicles are exempt from emissions control; ostensibly our state does not want to hurt business. Breathing dirty air is not hurting business, businesses can and do thrive when work is to be done. This means more businesses and more workers. Our choice is whether we spend money on health care, treating respiratory problems (I am sure there are many other health problems caused by breathing in foul exhausts) or whether we choose to spend money on emission testing and pollution controls. How can we even think we are creating a healthy business climate when we are creating a sickly citizenry, since businesses exist for all of its citizens how does this benefit business? We all breathe in the same air. Isn’t it easier and less costly to transplant vehicle parts than it is to transplant lungs, hearts, and minds? It is less costly for all involved to control all emissions.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Denise conrad

Justice for victims murdered by police in N.Y. Federal Southern DistrictNumerous minorities have been murdered by police, and there have been no indictments by the local district attorneys. Community Colleges Need to keep teaching Basic MathIt was brought to my attention by a number of math professionals that community colleges want to wipe out basic math classes for college level students in algebra and technical math. The premise being that they should be coming to college better prepared for more advanced math classes. What if they are not prepared or don't get it the first time? They are being unfairly penalized. As an older adult returning to college after being displaced from my job of 18 years I am so behind when ot comes to math. I understand why they must keep these basic math skills taught at the community college level. Please keep them in place.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Eileen O'Neill

Govenor Rick Perry save Health Care for the StateI feel that Health Care Benefits for the State of Texas should be a priority. Budget cuts to our current Health Care System would be devastating to seniors, disabled, and children. What is more important people or cutting the budget? The poorly disadvantaged would be placed in a very compromising position.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Michelle

Mental Health/The State of Georgia FocusMental Health again has become an issue in this Country. Former Governor Carter's wife put this issue before the state and developed a plan of concern, along with the federal laws on how the state would addressed it at the forefront. I think again Mental Health and the State's actions should be put on the table to be discussed3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Valarie King
