My name is Bonita, I am petitioning for Change. There are over 2 million families in the US who are impacted by incarceration causing a financial burden on the family unit. If you, a family member, loved one, or a friend have been incarcerated this affects you. Many people with convictions have families and can't provide for them after their release because of various acceptable discriminatory policies and practices which allows debarment for housing, employment, education and participation in social activities in society which extends their sentences into a lifetime of punishment. We need your help to stop long standing unwarranted, unquestioned discrimination against people with convictions. These discriminatory practices increases the risk of people committing crimes for survival or forces them into a life of lower social, economic status by barring them from opportunities. Our petition is to ask President Obama to do something to STOP the extension of their sentences, through undeserved discrimination allowed against (FIP) Formerly Incarcerated Persons who have served their sentences. If you agree that (FIP) people with convictions, who are not sex offenders, child abusers or serial killers, should have their civil rights automatically restored, giving them the opportunities to pursue life, liberty and happiness support this petition. Stand with us to ask President Obama to make them whole and human again; by issuing an automatic restoration of their rights, giving them equal access to federal, state and local agencies services, housing, employment, lending, and equal treatments in civil courts. Sign our petition to ask Congress, our President and the Supreme Court to restore and protect the civil rights of Formerly Incarcerated Persons, by making them a constitutionally protected class of people.

We should be concerned because our tax dollars go to support Zionism in Israel, that is unjust, that breaks international laws and human rights in the area. I have been on a Mission Travel Study to Israel and Palestine in 2008 and I feel like I have I have heard a different story about what is going on between Palestine and Israel. We need to bring a petition that goes out to the American people and than give that petition to our new Secretary of Defense, Charles Hagel.

n Minnesota we have seen both extreme rainfall and drought, and a temperature rise of around 3-4F degrees since 1960, which threatens our ability to produce food for the nation and the world. Worldwide a temperature increase of 1.4F degrees has caused floods, droughts, fire, extreme temperatures resulting in human suffering and loss of life.

Public policy should be based upon evidence.

We need adequate and sustainable revenues in Delaware and these should come from fair taxes. Currently our state's personal income tax has a top marginal tax bracket of $60,000+. We should make our income tax more progressive by adding marginal tax brackets for incomes above $60,000 so that wealthy Delawareans pay a higher tax rate than middle-class Delawareans.

Gov Heinemann wants to do away witih personal and corporate income taxes and put sales taxes on previously exempted essential items such as medication and food.

yes i had a grandson that went to county jail at 14 that got abused by a police while he was locked up and it is much more that has happened in the past but this touched my heart the most.

Living on the border I see the reverberations not dealing with this issue produces for all.

Appraisers are being ripped off by the banks. Many banks have created AMCs which take a big bite out of the appraisal fee yet the homeowner thinks the fee goes to the appraiser at closing. Instead the fee goes to the 'Appraisal Management Company' or the bank which is a new layer of bureaucracy providing no service. The AMC and the banks live off the back of the appraiser without doing any of the work.

President Jimmy Carter signed empowered our utilities with the Residential Conservation Service. That service saved homeowners many dollars. A similar service could be created for our small business owners and ease the lose of wasted energy.

Georgia is one of the states that lags behind other states in education, jobs, healthcare, and economic recovery in general. Governor Deal and other elected officials are preventing/refusing to implement all federal programs of assitance affiliated with President Obama's policies such as Obamacare, Medicare/Medicaid, Unemployment, Housing Subsidies,...and the list goes on. Stop blocking the help we need!

The Koch brothers have funded so many movements to resist the force of democracy in America that their influence is as negative here as the policy of apartheid was in Africa. Therefore it should be fought in the same manner using the tools of economic sanctions. The businesses and products that produce their fortunes should be made public and a boycott should be started.
