Gov. Siegelman's Unjust ImprisonmentFormer Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman was sent to prison for something that has never been a crime – accepting a campaign contribution. As governor, Siegelman advanced a ballot referendum to create a state lottery with revenue dedicated to education. Health care executive Richard Scrushy contributed $250,000 to the lottery campaign. None of this money went to Siegelman. Later, Siegelman appointed Scrushy — as three previous Republican governors had done — to a health-care-related state board, three members of which are required by law to be health-care professionals and all members of which serve without pay.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kevin Beares

Limit the size of major corporations.Limit the size of major corporations. I'm not a writer, but here goes nothing.. I feel that a major contributor to the high number of the unemployed is the never ending accumulation of businesses/corporations by larger corporations. When companies merge, employees are weeded out that perform similar functions. Once more, when the major corporation sends these jobs off-seas, the job no longer is done in this country. Finally, this leads to higher prices to the consumer caused by the lack of competing companies.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Joel Saunders

Gun Rights Should Have A PriceCitizens have a right to own guns, but certain guns have particularly high costs to society. Therefore, they should be taxed to defray those costs or prevent those costs from accruing. These taxes should provide funding for improved school security, psychiatric services focused on reducing violence, and compensation for victims of violence from the weapons most likely to be used in attacks which will have multiple victims.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Paul Nemeth

Make 2013 the Year of Herb Jeffriesmake 2013 the year of Herb Jeffries. That is to recognize the lifetime achievements of Herb Jeffries, great singer of Flamingo, and more, with Duke’s greatest ‘Blanton Webster era’ band. HJ was also the creator of the Bronze Buckaroo movies. The great thing is that this American hero is still alive and about to turn 100 this year.13 of 100 SignaturesCreated by david weinstock
