• Congress pay to Represent the People
I am tired of those who make over 10X the income I make telling me that it is time for me to tighten my belt while they continue to loosen theirs. We need to make the Congress represent the people again by making them live like we do!

  • No more "net taker" states!
I live in Kentucky, but was very upset that the House of Representatives failed to pass legislation for the states affected by Hurricane Sandy. Federal disaster relief should not be political. On the other hand, given all the concerns about the federal debt and deficit, I think we should shine a light on the role of the states adding to our federal financial woes. Many states take far more from the federal government than the give in return.

  • Stop Automatic Pay Raises for Congress and the President
Before the passage of "CONTRACT WITH AMERICA," Newt Gringrich's conservative doctrine of promises, Congress had to vote for any pay raises. Hidden within the Contract With America was a law to end that practice and to give Congress and the President automatic pay raises based on COLA. Instead of voting to get a pay raise, Congress now just has to vote to stop an automatic yearly pay raise--something they have not done once. Middle Class American's are hurting and losing jobs to overseas countries. Some of the off-shoring of jobs is actually promoted by these same companies being able to deduct the moving expenses to go off-shore and overseas. Meanwhile, Congress and the President keep getting automatic COLA raises every year. Middle Class American's do not work in any job that provides an automatic pay increase. Why should members of Congress and the President be given such a blessing of the American taxpayer? Congress' approval rating is the lowest in history--meaning they are not working FOR the American people in any significant way. Yet, again, Congress keeps getting a COLA-based income raise yearly. Members of Congress spend more time out of Washington raising more and more money for their own re-election, which means they spend less and less time in Washington passing laws and bringing jobs back to hard-working deserving American taxpayers who actually pay the salary of these members of Congress. This has got to stop! The American taxpayer needs to remind each member of Congress that they work for us--not for the corporations, not the Lobbyists, not the Special Interests. The American taxpayer needs to end Congressional and Presidential automatic pay increases and demand that Congress return to the very public and open system in place ever since our nation's founding: that is, having to VOTE for their pay increases. The gravy train has long ended for the average Middle Class taxpayer (if there ever was such a time for the average taxpayer/worker in America), and it is time that Congress and the President feel the strain of living on ever decreasing incomes that "We The People" have now come to learn to do as our economy crumbles due to policies written in Congress to encourage off-shoring of American jobs. It is time "We The People" end the gravy train for members of Congress and the President that the Contract With America put in to place and to petition our members of Congress to end all automatic pay increases and return to voting for each and any pay increase.

  • End foreign aid to Uganda
The LGBT of Uganda are facing imprisonment for being gay. We, the people of the United States, may not be able to change the horrible laws established in Uganda by the vile right-wing religious fanatics like Lively, but we can end the funding of a country that imprisons people for being different.

This national petition is aimed at MoveOn's 7.5 million members. MoveOn has been helpful by sending out 8,300 emails asking 'should MovOn support this petition,' and 13.7% responded, but now we need to show that there is even more support for amending the constitution by simply stating 'Corporations are NOT people and Money is NOT speech' Please sign this petition, there are still 7,491,700 MoveOn supporters that have not yet seen it...and pass it on. • Abused and Illegally Evicted
I have been emailing my 2 landlords since April 16th, 2012 about the abuse that I was going through at home. The 2 landlords always reminded myself as well as my abusive ex-boyfriend of how we are binded by the lease and my ex used that to his advantage. My life was threatened by my ex on December 7th and 8th and I am recieving nasty emails from one of the landlords who is a Lawyer in Hauppauge, NY. The landlord continues to state that my ex and I are binded by the lease and my ex has used that to his advantage thats why the abuse continued and got worse. I have contacted every legal service in Rochester Ny only to get the run around by everyone and to find out no one can help me. Not only am I homeless as of now I am being sued for $1800.00 by the landlord. When will abusers start paying for their own actions instead of the women who continues to suffer behind their actions.

  • Life insurance payouts
I requested my beneficiary payments be electronically deposited, sent all of the forms required. Both insurance companies mailed the checks instead. This delay of two weeks should be unacceptable.

I have been affected in 2004 and 2007 with cancer. I went through chemo. I have a list of other health issues. I think it is unfair to be taken off ssi disability. Especially after working and paying taxes prior to my cancer. I have no job, cant work, and no way to pay bills. This is unfair especially when you have or have had cancer and have other health issues as well.
