The union workers, blue collar workers, state and local gov'ts workers have had their pensions and benefits slashed. It is time to severely reduce the pensions and health care benefits of Members of the House and Senate of the US. I like many of you, have a lousy and expensive health care plan. For middle and lower income bracket Americans payroll taxes hit us hardest. Everyone except the elected Congressional Reps. make huge sacrifices and feel economic pain.

This is about educating the country about the southern confederate states and some of the western "cowboy" states who complain about federal spending when they are largely the recipients - as they are welfare clients. Massachusetts only gets eighty-one cents for every fed dollar we send in whereas these red states get WAY more than what they put in. This affects all of us when the red states now want to cut R&D, medical, education, etc. for Massachusetts!

My husband is in concrete construction as a co-owner. 20 yrs. ago he made three hundred dollars net pay more per week than he does today. Concrete is a craft as well as a skill. I heard recently that there is a cap on wages in our city of Panama City and I feel it is not right. Soooo not right. I feel that I could get the appropriate signatures.

Our economy cannot afford another showdown on the debt limit. Congress should not hold our national credit rating hostage to partisan political power plays.

My wife, the primary breadwinner, has had her benefits eaten away by politicians who enjoy untouched pension and health benefits. All the while these same politicians use/borrow and deplete from her pension plan pool adding unpaid I.O.U.,s.

Acknowledging the significant contribution that stay at home parents hold by (theoretically) raising young children to grow up to be good, productive citizens, I propose that these parents receive the the same benefits as people who serve our country in the military.

In California and maybe in the rest of the country it has become common practice to do credit checks on applicants and then deny them a job soley on the result of their credit. My wife has applied for nearly 50 jobs since moving to California and october and it has become clear to us that on a number of occations when she was flat out told she was the best applicant, she was denied a job soley based on her credit report. Why is this wrong? because this disproportionately will affect certain groups of people. Just because you have bad credit does not mean you are an irresponsible person. Especially when you consider the recent economic down turn. Also just because you have good credit does not mean your responsible. Groups that will remain disproportionately affected include anyone who was not born with a a silver spoon in their mouth including minorities, immagrants (legal or illegal), single mothers, and so on. My wife and I are going to be okay because I have a good job. But this is simply unethical and we cannot stand for this. Please join me in saying no to this classist, racist, sexist practice.
