• Chickens in the City of Aurora, IL
Chickens are currently allowed on properties that are at least 1 acre. However, by allowing backyard chickens on smaller lots, wholesome, cage free eggs will be more readily accessible. Children will learn responsibility and chickens will help with the daily chores such as getting rid of kitchen scraps and yard waste, and pest control.

  • Make Congress Do the Work
Congress refuses to do the jobs they have been elected to perform. We have all been affected by this issue, we need to let them know we are tired of their free ride on taxpayer money.

  • Ban Robo Telephone Calls (with certain exceptions)
Robocalls are becoming a vast nuisance. Even though I have been on the "Do Not Call" list since they started, I get at least two or three, often more robocalls which tie up the phone that I pay for, interupt what I am doing and are an invasion of my privacy. These calls should include all political calls, solicitation and sales calls. The only calls that should be permitted should be from local governments for emergencies, schools for the same reason or calls that one has given written permission to be made. These calls even come in on my cell phone which costs me minutes.

  • Constituent Campaign Contributions Act
This last election showed the effect uncontrolled money can have on our Democracy. Vast sums of money were spent to sway voters, and truth in advertising was noticeably absent. Money flowed into elections from out of state, from corporations, and special interests. People should only be able to contribute to campaigns where they are able to vote for the candidate.

  • Senators: Speed up the Presidential appointment process
Presidential nominations are yet another source of contentious and unnecessary political partisanship. Many judgeships sit vacant because the Senate will not act. Qualified candidates for all levels of leadership also are becoming targets, rather than being considered for their experience or qualifications. All this costs Americans money, slows government, and discourages talented and competent candidates. This must stop. So please, sign the petition below and show your disgust for this form of paralyzing Washington obstructionism. Tell the Senate, we want action.

  • Senators: Speed up the Presidential appointment process
The presidential appointment process is yet another victim of Congress' inability to act. Like many American, I am exasperated by politics bringing our government to a halt, leaving positions unfilled when America has major issues to face. Let's stop this nonsense. Congress should be required to vote upon all Presidential nominations, either to confirm or reject, within 90 days of nomination.

  • Stop rapes of Indian women. Declare a national emergency! Pass laws now!!!
India has become completely unsafe for women due to a rape epidemic. The women are being gang-raped and assaulted at an alarmingly high rate, and the perpetrators are walking freely. The police do not take action and the women have nowhere to go.

  • Governor Patrick, Appoint Barney Frank as interim Senator to replace John Kerry
Barney Frank has done an outstanding job representing Massachusetts in Congress. He is not interested in running for the rest of John Kerry’s term in the Senate. Because he knows how Washington works and can hit the ground running, he’s the logical choice for Governor Patrick to appoint to this interim position. Let’s let Governor Patrick know how we feel.

  • Legislation needed to make health insurance companies disclose their denial rates
There is no legislation on the books for any state except California or federal that requires health insurance companies to disclose their denial rates. Thirty percent of all health claims submitted in California are denied, imagine the nationwide ramifications. I deal with this every day in my business and make the health insurance companies pay the way they should not the way they want to.
